Goodyear admits problems with tire
I was shocked. While watching Daytona practice this morning, Goodyear actually admitted that there was a problem with some of the tires, the tires with a certain number sequencing have been taken out, this supposedly affected about 11 teams.
This is the first time that I can remember that Goodyear actually admitted there was a problem with the tires, normally they blame it on car setup, camber, the track, whatever they can. I'm glad that the problem was identified and taken care of, we definitely don't need any tires coming apart on the track.

Good point Kathy.
You're right about our friends at the official tire supplier of NASCAR, too. They've often been a little less than forthcoming.
There are rumblings of behind-the-scenes talks with other rubber suppliers, which I'd surely favor.
In fact, a little less monopoly might be good in a lot of our other businesses.
I just remember what teach said in high school economics class about competition being "the lifeblood" of American business. I feel like we've lost sight of that some lately.
Maybe it's even time for a new New Deal.

I've heard that Firestone expressed an interest and wanted to do some tests to try and get in. Would be interesting, I remember the days when they had a choice between Hoosiers and Goodyear.
