Martin wins Busch Race
Carl Edwards seemed to have been the car to beat on Saturday, leading the most laps in the race and staying up front all day, everyone thought he had the race won until lap 186 when a flat tire sent him spinning. Luckily for him, there was no damage to the car and he was able to stay on the lead lap. There wasn't enough laps for him to make it all the way back up front and he ended up finishing second.
Mark Martin ended up restarting in second and had a little struggle getting by Stremme, who was going for his first Busch Series win, Mark finally got around him and then began to pull away. Once Mark pulled away there was really no doubt as to who was going to win, but there was an exciting battle for second on the last turn of the final lap between Stremme and Harvick. It didn't seem like Harvick would be able to get around him, he could get beside him but Harvick's car seemed to tight and then somehow on the final turn Harvick got a good run and edged out Stremme for second, making it his fourth in a row.
Reed Sorenson finished a respectable sixth, making it his third top-ten out of four races. In the past, I haven't really been impressed by any of the really young drivers that have been brought in, but for 19, Sorenson seems to be pretty level-headed, focused on his career and at the same time having fun, while not being wreckless. I'm impressed with the kid and think he's got a bright future in NASCAR.
Harvick is still in the points lead, but Brandon Miller is supposed to be in the car at Atlanta, so more than likely the lead will go to Edwards after next week unless he has a bad day.
Until the end there it really wasn't anything you could call an exciting race, not a lot of battles going on, hopefully the Cup race will be a little better.

I have been watching Sorenson from afar while he toiled in the ARCA series and he is impressive indeed.
In fact here is my limb standing prediction:
Sorenson will be in a Cup car full time next year and will win his first race in Oct/Nov 2006.
remember you heard it here first.

Sorenson looks like an outstanding driver. You just need to look at his finishes since he joined the Busch series. Definitely one to watch. Its a shame he's so young in one way - he can't take over Marlin's Cup car until he's 21. I like Marlin, but if he does leave Ganassi racing I think they should move McMurray or Mears to the 40 and put Reed in one of their cars.
