Mexico City
This Sunday will be the inaugural race in Mexico City for the Busch Series, it will also mark the first time since 2001 since the series ran a road course race, so who has the edge? Will it be a Cup driver, a Busch Series regular who was around when they ran road courses or a road course ringer like Boris Said? A lot of questions are still up in the air about this weekend's race and everyone is looking to see what will happen.
I've never been a big fan of the road courses, give me a good old short track, but I guess it's better than another cookie-cutter, semi-flat D-shaped oval.
The practice sessions will prove crucial for the newer guys in the series, who haven't raced on road courses and it will be important for everyone else who hasn't had time to test on this particular track.
Other than the race itself, the biggest question seems to be whether or not Kevin Harvick will be able to run the race. Apparently he is still very sore (ribs and sternum) from his wreck in the Gatorade Duel and the constant shifting on the road course could prove to be a problem. He will attempt to practice, to see how his body handles it, but if it proves to be too much, Brandon Miller will be in the drivers seat of the #21. It's appears to be a wait and see type situation where an absolute decision won't be made until Sunday morning. If he misses the race, this will be the first race Harvick has missed because of an injury.
So, who will win? Who will everyone be rooting for? Me, I'll be rooting for Rusty Wallace, who'll be driving his own car for this race, so his teams fate in the standings is all in his hands this weekend. Other drivers I think that people need to look out for are Robby Gordon (supposedly his last Busch race for a while), Harvick (if he's in the seat) and road course expert Boris Said. I think a lot of the Busch regulars, especially the new guys, are going to struggle on the road course and could be in for a long day.
If anything, it should be an interesting race.

Let's not forget that the Busch series does have experience at another road course, in Watkins Glen. And with the aggressive pace of driver development, a number of these drivers have attend Bob Bondurant and other driving schools just to get a handle on road racing.
I think the winner will be a Cup regular, however. I look for a native Mexican to place top ten just because of their familiarity with this particular track, provided they qualify.

I have to look at Jeff Burton.. he's got the most time already of the "invading force"... but Rusty's road course experience is a legend unto itself....
