NASCAR & Poker
The Mobil High-Endurance Charity Poker Tournament was held last night at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, where drivers were playing for their favorite charities, each drivers charity getting some money no matter where they placed.
Drivers in the tournament were: Rusty Wallace, Ryan Newman, Travis Kvapil, Helio Castroneves, and Sam Hornish Jr, Kenny Wallace, Jason Leffler and Richard Childress even filled a seat. They even had Poker Champion Chris Moneymaker on hand to give expert advice.
The winner's charity will get $50,000 and second places charity will get $10,000. Everyone else's charity will receive $4,000 for participation in the event, so no one's charity will go home empty handed.
I haven't heard anything on who won the tournament yet, but The Speed Channel has agreed to air the tournament sometime this Spring, no date has been set for airing.

You heard right. Kenny did win it all and donated $50,000 to autism research. Rusty had a good run and finished fourth out of the twelve players who participated. My recollection is that Ryan was not in the top six.
The poker tournament was a lot of fun to watch, especially with Kenny participating. The action was certainly a lot more lively when he was present. (They actually played three rounds - two "qualifying" rounds and a final round. Kenny was not in the second round.)
By the way, there have been several tournaments played by racers for charities. They are going to be televised on Speedvision beginning on Thursday, April 7 and running through Thursday, June 2 at 9:00 p.m. eastern.

Maybe, but in poker you never know. I still haven't heard anything about who won.

I was just laughing at those!
Hmm...looks like Ryan's pile of pink chips is considerably larger than Rusty's...maybe a clue as to who's charity came out on top?

Let the snarky comments on those pink chips begin. :-)
