What FOX missed, coverage part 2
I've received numerous comments and emails about my last entry "Is coverage getting worse?" Most agreed about the coverage and I even received an email from a member of a Busch Series team who is also disappointed in the FOX race coverage.

I, for one would have been interested in the MacDonald #72 because I first saw fellow Canadian Randy MacDonald race in the old American/Canadian Tour series at Cayuga Speedway here in Canada.
The last couple of days, because of the Mexico race, several racers and comentators have said Canada may be next for NASCAR.
I have been a fan since the '60's and would have supported NASCAR coming to Canada, but not any more.
We have the Southen Ontario Sprints, a 360 sprint car series going, and the Auto Value Super Sprints and ISMA supermodifieds are coming back to Canada this year. You can keep the taxi cabs right where they are. It's taken promotors in Ontario years to recognize that open wheelers are real race cars. Look at where the talent pool in NASCAR is coming from.....even the beloved Jeff Gordon used to drive real race cars.
Back in the ABC, then CBS days they used to do some human interest stories about some of the smaller teams and the coverage really was better on ESPN. The guys at FOX have forgotten what the show really is, and how they got to where they are. Kind of reminds me of Howard Cosell. DW and MacReynolds should be ashamed of themselves for the way they detract from the show.
For my money, I'd rather be at a World of Outlaws race...for that matter, so would Tony Stewart. Remember a win he had at Irwindale a couple of years ago. He jumped out of a sprint car and declared it was "great to be in a real race car again".
Let me echo the point.....NO MORE BOOGITY

WHY, WHY, and I ask again WHY are we going to Mexico to race a road course?
This sport was spawned from hard working AMERICANS, with a lot of sacrifice and determination worked hard to see this sport grow in THIS COUNTRY and not go to a country that, when they come to our country we are forced to learn there language, and if truth be know would just as soon rip you off as look at you. I say to NASCAR You are making a very BIG mistake. Yes NASCAR is going to make millions of dollars off this deal. But for once please don't let the dollar signs mislead the decision makers of the fastest growing sport in this COUNTRY.
Have we been asked to go and race in England, Russia, or Germany. But yet we go to a country, that in some parts is almost concidered a third world country. I will admitt that back in the 1950s Bill Sr. teamed up with one other person and did race in Mexico, but what I understand there was only one race, and now 55 years later we go and race again. I ask is this going to be on a regular schedule or is this just a one night stand? How much is this costing the teams to transport equipment/team, and not to mention the meals and hotel cost. What about security. Who is providing that please don't tell me the Mexicans. All I can say to the teams is this: account-ibility, tie down everything and anything that is of value, if you don't the valuables will grow legs and will run off not walk.
Please race fans, don't take this the wrong way and think that I am hard or rude, I just think that we need to keep our sport in our country,"AMERICA" Rick.
