NASCAR fans upset at ABC's Bristol Busch race coverage
NASCAR fans are upset with the coverage of the Busch Series race at Bristol by ABC.
I was surprised by the abrupt end of the coverage, heard others complain and have even received some emails from frustrated fans sounding off about the coverage.
NASCAR fans have always complained about the amount of commercial breaks, especially when they seem to make us miss incidents on the track, but I think yesterday's abrupt end took the cake.
It seemed like not even two minutes from the time Carl Edwards took the checkered flag, ABC was ending their coverage, going to other programming. Here, the other coverage was a dang infomercial!
I'm not an Edwards fan by any means, but all his fans that weren't at the track missed his trademark backflip, which he does when he wins a race. Fans also missed the interview with the winner and runner ups. That was just a very poor choice on ABC's part.
I thought the ESPN2/ABC deal was supposed to help the Busch Series, coverage like this will not help. The Busch Series is already hurting, things are supposed to be being done to help the series, this kind of coverage will not help. Hopefully it was just a one time mix up, but I get the feeling it wasn't.
When ESPN/ABC covers the latter part of the season for the Cup series, I hope something like this doesn't happen with one of the Cup races or fans will have a fit.
NASCAR should have it in their contract that there is post race coverage, not just flag to flag coverage.
Your thoughts?

They missed several restarts and they didn't have replay of one of the crashes. You could hear them go to green while they were showing the cut-away car, too. Yesterday's coverage stunk!!!

This is not the ESPN that I fondly remember.
