Skinner makes it three in a row
Mike Skinner did it again, it seems like the truck series is becoming the Mike Skinner Show. Not only has he won three in a row, he's won three in a row from the pole. Jack Sprague is the only other winner in the truck series this season so far, but Skinner is on a role.
There were lots of spins in the race and surprisingly, some of them didn't bring out cautions. I always have a hard time understanding exactly when NASCAR deems it a caution when a truck goes spinning, sometimes a caution will come out and other times it won't.
I haven't heard anything about the pit crew member that got knocked down by his teams truck yet either. It was Cook's truck and a NASCAR official basically pulled the guy from being run over when Cook backed up, at least that's what it looked like on TV. I haven't seen a single thing mentioned about that, but it's always difficult to find updates and detailed news about the truck series.
If the truck race is any indication of what's to come for the Cup series, I see a lot of tires being cut by the splitters, especially in the corners.
Your thoughts?

That truck race was awful. I usually love Martinsville, but this was painful to watch. The pace car led the most laps. Race for four laps, caution for five laps. Race three laps, caution for five laps. Mike Daly is right about this one.
Jon,
You didn't really think that was entertaining, did you? If you did, I feel for you.

Marc,
I have been reading your comments on Kathy's blog since the beginning and in my opinion you come across as a know it all and that is why I made the comment. You can say that you weren't aiming your JJ dig at least partially toward me all you want, but that is exactly how it came across. I really don't care too much about the discussion about aero push between you and Mike. I was mainly commenting on the exchanges between you and Mike.

I did claim you did andnothing in my post implied you did.
Other than lobbing a cheap shot based on the comment thread in the preceding post perhaps you could add to it with your thoughts.
In fact maybe you could find what Daly can't, i.e. quotes from drivers noting "aeropush" contributing to the handling problems at Bristol.
In the meantime you're free to believe asking for supporting evidence for a stated position is being a "know it all."

Marc,
I will let the JJ thing go since it was a NASCAR call and I am sure they will be consistant the next time it happens, LOL. Besides, during that time I was wearing my "I don't like JJ glasses" so I was temporarily blinded.

Marc,
I didn't call you nuts, that comment was aimed directly at Mike. But the rest was aimed at both of you. Reading yours and Mike's posts back and forth you do come across as a know it all.

Jon:
"You're nuts, I would tell you to stick to stock cars, but you have no idea what you are talking about in stock cars either."
A lot of things in life are comical Jon, most especially the idiocy that Daly peddles on a regular basis.
However I must make one correction to your comment. I'm far from right on all occasions. but the things I'm not familar with I at least make an attempt to research the subject matter prior to making a fool of myself.
Ya know what I mean Jon. Unlike some people I actually researched why J.J. wasn't penalized when a tire rolled into another pitbox, and stopped by a NASCAR official, (as opposed to across pitlane).
In doing so I didn't look like a buffoon like some did.
Know what I mean, Jon?

Mike,
You're nuts, I would tell you to stick to stock cars, but you have no idea what you are talking about in stock cars either. The only thing more entertaining than the racing is wondering what you and marc are going to say next. No disrepect intented, but you and marc both come acrossed as kow it all's and it is quite comical.

To be honest, I was really excited to finally get the chance to see a truck race. I don't think my cable supplier even has plans to add the Speed Channel, so I was all ready to watch all the cool banging and bumping.
But with the Toyota driving away after each restart, soon my tax paperwork became more interesting. Makes me wonder if the upgrade to Speed Channel is worth it.

The Trucks aren't as racey as some people here make them out to be. Martinsville was a wreckfest, certainly, but it never got going as a competitive race. Daytona has been the only good race for the Trucks since 2000.
The series is suffering even more because it's now a one-make series, with no prospect of a non-Toyota make winning a race without a Truckwacker stepping in.

I gotta agree, ythe "Braintrust" in Daytona Beach modeled the CON(Car Of Now) after the the Daytona prototype, where the pretty much run single file. They have FAILED to realize in the "Big boy" series we Rub,Bump, and Lean on other competitors...like that Alan Jackson song goes...It's a work in progress. let's see how the "spindoctors" go Monday
