Busch fined and docked points for Dover pit road incident
NASCAR handed down the penalty on Friday morning for Kurt Busch. He is being docked 100 driver points, fined $100,000 and put on probation until Dec. 3rd. Penske was also docked 100 owner points.
"I regret the incident that occurred at Dover and apologize to NASCAR, my sponsors, the fans, my Penske Racing team and Joe Gibbs Racing. I understand that safety is crucial to the sport and I accept the points penalty, fine and probation that NASCAR has imposed on me."
The lose of points drops Busch from 11th in the standings to 18th, tied with Bobby Labonte.
The only question I have is why it took them until Friday to hand down the penalty? Why not when they normally hand down the penalties for the race weekend?
Your thoughts? Fair penalty or not?

Ridiculous, he should have been suspended.

It took them until Friday because their priorities were more importantly focused on the passing of Mr France. Completely understandable.
I think the penalty stinks, and is not near severe enough.
Kurt took a 3400lb race car and used it as a weapon and endangered the life of a crew man.
He has had chance after chance to stop being a little whiny spoiled brat kid, and continues to show his ass. He belittles his crew on the radio like there is no tomorrow, and is nothing short of a complete jerkoff.
This should be a 2 race suspension, 500 point fine, $250,000 fine, and indefinite probation.
NASCAR blew the opportunity to send a message, but I think Kurt lucked out due to the death of Mr France, which is a sad commentary on the state of this sport.
tks,
