Kentucky gives us another first time winner - Stephen Leicht
He may not have had the best car out there, but it was one of the best and the first one to cross the finish line when the checkered flag flew. That win gave Stephen Leicht his first career Busch Series win.
Cup regular Carl Edwards had seemed to have the race sewn up and everyone else was battling for second on back. A late race caution erased Edwards almost ten second lead and on the restart he tried to block Steve Wallace from getting around him and both cars ended up wrecking. Edwards even admitted that if he hadn't tried to block Wallace, that they wouldn't have wrecked, so he wasn't mad about it.
Leicht restarted third on that last restart after the Edwards/Wallace wreck, got by Wimmer and Coleman and went on to win his first race.
Ironically, Gilliland won his very first race at Kentucky and it vaulted him into the Cup Series. Will this happen to Leicht too? I hope not too soon. I'd like to see him win a little more before being moved up, he has the potential, but I don't think one win should vault a driver to the Cup Series.
Congratulations to Stephen Leicht and his fans.

Congrats to Stephen Leicht on his first Busch Series win and I second your hope that he isn't moved up too soon. After all, Gilliland really hasn't done much in the Cup Series since being pushed up from the Busch Series after a single win in Busch Series.

Robert Yates may wind up with 38-Gilliland and 88-Kyle Busch (unless he can trade 88 to DEI for 8 to Hendrick and 5 to RYR), so he can tell Leicht to stay put and try to win on other size tracks, hone his road skills and try for the Busch title before he steps up.
