The man that brought NASCAR to the forefront passes away
It was announced during the race broadcast that, Bill France Jr. passed away this afternoon.
While his father founded NASCAR, it was Bill France Jr. that brought NASCAR to the forefront in sports, helping it gain recogonition and growth, until he handed the controls over to his son in late 2003.
Condolences to the France family and all the close friends of Bill France Jr.

Rest in peace Bill , this is truly the end of our sport we love with Brian in total control now ruining it day by day .

I may call the France Family...names of Italian origin...But Bill France Jr made Winston Cup Racing what it was, my deepest sympathy's go out to the France Family.
