Experience and aggressiveness pay off on the track, inexperience hurts on pit road
Aric Almirola started on the pole and finished sixth, he just wasn't aggressive enough to compete with the likes of Biffle, Edwards and Leffler. Jason Leffler, always aggressive, won the race, passing Biffle with just two laps to go. Edwards, Biffle and Reutimann did not seem too happy with Leffler's driving style, but kept their cool during their interviews. Reutimann was the least happy with him and I guess wasn't exactly nice on the radio about it, but composed himself in the interview and you could tell he was holding back from saying things. Leffler's win gives Toyota their first victory in the Busch Series.
Inexperience seemed to rear its ugly head on pit road when the 25 ran through the pit stall of the 77 of Ron Hornaday, taking out Jake Lauder, the front-tire carrier. He ended up cutting his nose and breaking his big toe, it could have been a lot worse if helmets weren't a requirement for over-the-wall guys.
Another incident on pit road, not sure which teams were involved (not a lot of coverage about it during the race) was when a car leaving their pit caught the air gun of another team and started pulling it down pit road. The hose knocked down some crew members before the hose snapped. Anyone with an update of the status of crew members from that team?
Funny, the articles on NASCAR.com, nor ESPN, even mention the pit road incidents, but they were sure to mention the impressive skill of Edwards coming from the back to finish fourth. He's a darn Cup driver and that 60 car has been darn near perfect all year, of course he finished well! It wasn't that impressive.
Your thoughts?

I watched the race and Leffler in my opinion was very patient toward the end. Reuti did all he could to keep Leff behind him blocking etc, which is expected, and Leff, who had the better car, better'd him.
Biffle's a sour puss anyway and being a Cup guy instead of whining about being bettered, should have acknowledged that Leff had the better car that day.

wayne, I wasn't saying you specifically said anything about Dale Sr., but to say it is perfectly respectable to take out a fellow competitior just because you want to win isn't alright.

I was a Dale Earnhardt fan and I never said anything bad about him, even took his side in 99 at Bristol with the T Labonte deal.He wanted to win just like any driver worth a s^%t.i'll never pull for a driver who just hopes to get the best finish they can.

Exactly Angel, look how many race fans turned against Dale Sr. for his aggressive driving. Now it is the norm, but people still look back on Dale Sr's driving as negative and the drivers like Leffler in this case and a bunch of Cup drivers are seen as just trying to win.

That's ok, lets see how Leffler hadnles the payback, my guess is he won't handle it well.

Winning the race is one thing but putting
your fellow driver into the wall, no way.
Remember, what happened to Dale Sr.

It's better to be over aggressive than nice and passive."oh,you want to win,go ahead,I'd hate to wrinkle a fender".

Leffler's a dumbass. I was at Daytona at the Busch race when he took out both Michael Waltrip and Dale, Jr. His over-aggressiveness cost him the win, too, as he blocked Jr. into the turn 4 wall and messed up his own car in the process, handing the win to Mike Wallace that night.

Hey Kathy,
Tough racin' deal.
Was very much rootin' for Reut. Leffler had 50 lap fresher tires and he did not wreck him.
Didn't like it. But as Root suggested, there will be another day.

No it isn't, respecting your fellow drivers when winning is where it is at.

Winning is the name of the game, baby.

No wayne, one says I am not going to take out another competitor just to win and the other says, I am going to do whatever it takes to win, even if it means put a feloow racer in the wall.

The reasons for Leffler celebrating victory and Reutimann settled for something less can be found in post race comments.Leffler says at some point you know you can win and its time to go.Reutimann says he's through 'working' with Leffler. One wants to win races the other is driving around hoping for top fives.

Kathy,
You pretty much expressed my feelings of the race last night and Leffler just proved that in this day and age "what ever it takes to win a race" is the norm. He forced Reutimann into the wall at least three times and two of them were at the critical part of the race. I would have much rather seen Reutimann get the first win for Toyota, since he definietly showed the most class of the Toyota drivers.
