Stewart wins Indy, but will he lose too?
Tony Stewart easily had the car to beat in the race on Sunday. I thought for sure something was going to happen and he was going to fall back, that's the kind of luck he's had this season, but he held on with a stellar car and won the race.
Stewart may have won, but NASCAR is looking into whether to penalize him for his post-race interview and the "BS" word. Admittedly, I didn't see the interview, just read about it, so I'm not sure on the use and context of the comment. I guess there was also a miscommunication between ESPN and NASCAR, the latter thinking a delay was in place, but ESPN says that delays are only used on replays of radio conversations, not live victory lane interviews. Strange policy to have since we all know drivers have been known to not censor themselves in Victory Lane. ESPN officials said - "It was an unfortunate incident that we did not anticipate." NASCAR is supposedly going to talk to ESPN officials about it, along with deciding whether or not Stewart should be penalized.
I don't think he should be penalized. If they let Kyle Petty get away with saying the "f" word because it was on cable and it was a live broadcast from his car, they shouldn't penalize Stewart for saying "BS". If they penalize him, I think it's just because they want to. ESPN is cable and they've "relaxed the rules", one of the reasons Petty wasn't penalized.
Not all Chasers had good luck on Sunday, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. both had bad finishes, Johnson dropped to ninth in points and Jr., although he didn't lose twelfth, is only thirteen points ahead of Kurt Busch. Although Johnson did drop, I don't think he's really in any danger of dropping out of the Chase, but Jr. and his fans should be worried.
Your thoughts?

I feel that Tony should be penalized for his language. Dale Jr. was, so should Tony. Kyle was a little bit different circumstance, he was on his team radio, although he should have realized that he could also be live to the viewers since he was the in-race reporter. Maybe he should have been penalized also.

Tony Stewart once again proves to be an embarrasment to himself and JGR. It's a weekly occurance at this point. He was a jerk to the commentator and he thought long and hard about what he was going to say before he spoke the BS. I don't care about the language and I don't care if he gets fined. It's just sad that a class act like Joe Gibbs has to be associated with Tony. When your 40 year old crew cheif has to say how much you have matured, it's pretty sad.
