Kenseth's comments on his and Edwards altercation
I'm sure by now everyone heard about the little altercation between Kenseth and Edwards after last weeks race.
Edwards apologized on Tuesday for the incident, saying he shouldn't have shown his anger towards Kenseth, but that trouble had been brewing between them for a while.
Yesterday, Kenseth made a statement about the whole thing -
His behavior has been real erratic lately, honestly. You don't know what to expect with him. That's the thing that's a little bit troublesome. One minute, he has so much respect for you, and he's real friendly and everythings so much fun. The next minute he wants to kick your butt and he's swearing at you. It's a little scary. You never know what you're going to get. I thought it was good in a way that the cameras were there because a lot of us see that, and nobody else does because he kind of puts on a different front.
Most of what the fans see is a happy-go-lucky guy, he always smiles in his interview and of course he has his trademark backflip when he wins.
If we are to believe Kenseth, there seems to be two sides of Edwards, kind of like Jekyll and Hyde. Whatever problems exist over there, Roush obviously needs to step in and help them work it out, I know that he usually lets everyone work things out themselves, but it just doesn't seem like these two getting along and won't any time soon.
Your thoughts?

What is up with all the Matt bashing? Let's look at the facts. Matt didn't befriend him and ran him up the race track to regain a position lost after "The Carl" punted the 17. Whatever happend at Kansas was a million years ago in racing years.
It's sad for Office Depot. Would you want Carl to represent your business? He may not get fired this week, next month, or even in 08. But come re-up time he'll be quitely disposed of... can you say second rate team and dead end career. His denials and finger pointing lets me know he doesn't get the big picture. Shouldn't Carl be pumping Matt for help and information instead of pumping his fist at Matt? CE has lots of talent but not enough smart to be more than a one hit wonder. I'm looking forward to watching all those commercials of the "Smiling Carl" on race day!

carl was on speed channel around 6:00 o clock so 3:40 seems a prerfectly time to leave to goto qualifying if he wasnt already at the track or was starting up personal appearences.
or attend the race as a fan.

Wow HOW about that #16 car awsome job for Biffle! Wonder where K2 is at? Did you have to thrash on the car?=P, I almost turned off Qualifying when I heard CE voice...I fell asleep on the couch before that happen...I REALLY REALLY hate the T35 and past champ provisional...#00 didn't make the show, and that pains me...Oh wait that stomach growling, better call Domino's!

Don't get me wrong, I am not upholding
Kenseth nor Edwards, I think, they both
need better communication between them.

was wrong in what he did but he and M.K.
were bumping and banging on each other at
the Martinsville race and tempers were
flaring. I am not a fan of either, I am

It would be interesting to know what Mat said to Carl after he crossed the wall and then came back for the fake punch.
I like both of these guys. Mat seems quiet and minds his own business. But other drivers have had issues with him. Remember Jeff Gordon in Bristol last year going after Mat. Dale Jarrett had problems with Mat, too, at one point. Carl should not have gone after Mat the way he did, but there may be a side to Mat that we do not see also.

I am not a fan of Matt Kenseth nor Carl
Edwards but it seems problems have been
developing between these two drivers for
quite sometime.
As Carl Edwards stated, Matt Kenseth had
not spoken a sentence to him in 6 months.
Carl was totally wrong in what he did to
Matt during the interview but Matt is
not without faults either, he's no altar
boy as has been stated.
Maybe, more communication/harmony is
needed at Raush Fenway, something is
missing. It seems this is more then just
a slight disagreement, it's like two pit
bulls going after each other and Raush
needs to intervene.
It has already erupted into a full-blown
controversy. Both Kenseth and Edwards
have strong willed personalities and each
are going to express their own opinions
of what happened but both were bumping
and banging on each other at Martinsville.
Geoff Smith, Raush Fenway president said,
he disagreed with Matt Kenseth's suggest-
ion that Carl Edwards outburst was a
pattern of behavior.
The two drivers, I have the most respect
for at Raush Fenway are Greg Biffle and
Jamie McMurray.

Go 99, were saying to test EVERYONE not just CARL EDWARDS for a drug test..and fake punching isn't too violent for the rest of us, its just that CARL'S buck teeth are so huge that we are jealous that he put steroids into his toothpaste too...

I read your posts and see that your issue with this is that he has an immage of being a "nice guy" and this makes him stand out.

the 17 had had his run ins but overall he a pretty decent guy same with RR and the Bees.....then this 99/John Cena wanna be cuts in on the matt's interview, and guys call that emotion ( how long after teh race was that 30 minutes) that's not emotion that is a carefully planned attack from an attenion whore.
Doc throw the 99 under the bus and floor it, better yet get a convoy of 18 wheelers incase he runs away

I really don't understand most people's attitudes. Or maybe I do and just don't want to. Carl has done well since he got to this level. Has he been aggressive at times? Yep. Has he been an ass? Yep. Has he shown his ass? Yep. Now, which driver on the circuit hasn't done these things?
Everyone already knows that NASCAR is not about showing true emotion. How "spontaneous" is the winning driver's celebration when he has to drive into victory lane and wait 5 minutes until the TV guy gives him the go ahead to get out of the car? How often have we seen NASCAR punish drivers for showing true emotion? So Carl (Gasp) isn't the aw shucks guy. He presents an image that NA$CAR loves and sponsors will continue to endorse.
Also - so the guy screwed up and I know I'm the same way I get mad and it boils over sometimes and then I'm almost immediately calmer and sorry that I boiled over. I can guarantee you that I'm not on steroids (my gut will tell you that). Yet everyone wants to crucify this guy and make all these stupid claims that he's on steroids. That makes sense.
And Gretchen, I read the article on ESPN, McMurry wasn't trashing Carl, he just said they weren't friends. They don't have the same interests and it's pointless to pretend that they're all friends all of a sudden when it likely won't ever happen.

Serious question here..who decides in any sport that drug testing should be done,and frankly,what's in it for the president of a sport to purposely look for his own superstars that are on illegal drugs..from a buisness standpoint that would only hurt the image of a sport..look what its done to baseball..but as a lifelong fan of all 5 of the major sports,I don't want anyone on steroids to be on em..because that took away a chance for others to excel when they didn't cheat. Some of these sports superstars are lookin so superhuman because they are doing things that other humans aren't..like cheating in nascar or pumping roids in baseball..I love sports,but as any poker player will tell ya,no room for cheatin' here...

Steroids came to my mind, too.
NASCAR will never DT anyone until something really, really bad happens ... something more then an on-camera temper tantrum that's contrary to a driver's public persona.
I expect it will take the other 42 drivers risking life and limb on the track to step up and push for DT.

Carl edwards screwed himself royally by purposley projecting that "happy go lucky " image constantly on camera...come on folks,he has done everything he could to look like the perfect son every parent hopes to have..if he didn't try so hard in interviews to look like a damn church-boy,he wouldn't have this public relations disaster right now..we all make mistakes,his mistake was not speakin his true mind in interviews..and now he can deal with lookin' like a fraud in front of america..its that simple..he wanted credit for being that lovable "good 'ol boy" and he can now receive credit for projecting that 'sleazy jerk' image that came across on the camera. Wonder how long 'til the next blow up occurs? Can't wait til he reads how roids messes with your d@@k....then he will really get mad!

Cousin Carl is a mouck and now the entire world knows and sees it. I have yet to see such press schold a driver for such as they have "Awe Shucks I'm a fake"
You bring up JR and MIS. Carl got wrecked and he showed his arse at a level that was below a dirt track on Saturday night.
Could Carl beat Matt up? Sure he can, anyone one in roid rage could do that.
Will Matt have a better career than Carl? That has already happened.
I think ol'Cousin felt that being a bulley was the easy button to solving his issues, but he was not smart enough to control himself or to see the camera. Now everyone saw.
I sent Office Depot a letter stating I would not be back there as long as they sponsor someone of that type and closed my company account there.
It's ad really that something that was so heart warming of a story as his was supposed to be. I thought on INC, when all three including KS was trashing him it showed how bad he was behind the scenes.
Even his half arsed "awe shucks sorry" sucked. He was still trying to shift the blame of his teammates and organization. I don't say this often, well I've never said it. Jack doesn't deserve the crap this thung is getting tossed on his organization. Jack has worked too hard for too long to let that be trashed by someone HE MADE.
It'll be interesting to see what Cousin does to awe shucks his way back into the heart of the press and fans.
Honestly I hope he wrecks every car they can get to the track. Not that I hope he gets hurt, but the only way for him to really feel worse is to consistantly screw up. Like he's been doing all year.

Depression can cause it, as can stress. However, Carl's fitness regimen leads one to that conclusion, especially after longtime teammates make those remarks, and noone on INC pipes up with a defense.

And the fact that MK and GB have made the remarks they have, fuels the speculation even more.
As far as NASCAR drug testing him. IMO, they should for the sake of getting that out of everyone's head.
Obviously NASCAR's DT policy is bullshit. You can not convince me with a winning powerball ticket, that Fike's behavior wasn't indicative of a f'd up individual. And he was never tested by NASCAR. He got caught in an amusment park parking lot, not by NASCAR's ingenuity. And all I can say is that Shane Hmiel and Kevin Grubb must have been f****d up as football bats for NASCAR to find "reasonable" suspicion to test them........and IMO their "circle" of buddies- if affiliated with NASCAR- should have been popped as well. You don't hang out in the grocery store unless you're shopping.
And yes I am fully aware that my driver is one of Hmiel's "buddies".

I don't think that this is something we haven't seen. Carl is indeed a nice guy. Nice guys have tempers too, and Carl is prone to loose his on occasion.
He is nice, but not a pushover (aka Kenseth).
Jr. wrecked him intentionally at MIS. Everyone there knew it, and they showed thier displeasure (the only time a crowd actually bood Jr.). Carl confronted him, and it hasn't happened since.
Tony Stewart showed his a## and wrecked the 07 and the 99 intentionally at Pocono. Carl threatened to rip his head off and spit down his neck (ok, my words but you get the point). Carl was right to do so.
Now Matt trys to punt him into the wall durring a chase race (a chase in which Matt is 12th out of 12). Carl didn't appriciate this treatment from a teammate.
And another thing, who here thinks that Matt is an alter boy? Carl isn't exactly the only one who has wanted a piece of him. I like Matt alot, but he does tend to get under peoples skin from time to time.
As for this weeks INC show, two of the guys commenting on the incident hadn't even seen the race and one of them had Matt in his wedding and didn't bother to invite Carl. Hows that for impartial.
(by the way hearing Waltrip condemn Edwards for faking a punch was rich - Michael punched a guy who was still strapped into his car! What a hypocrite!!)

along with some adds in some racing publication/s, he had some business cards printed up ect with ce motor sports ect to project himself as more than he was lol like he was super mini HMS lol who knows, at thet ime he was still some no body dirt track guy in the midwest......” kind of a fake it till you make it self promotion program ” and his mom would answer the phone very professionally, thank you for calling ce motorsports how may I direct your call, meanwhile she was at home or had the calls forwarded to her work, so the story goes......gotta give him credit the guy was a self promoter and you can’t knock him for doing what he did, the guy had a goal/dream and chased it. KS helped him out lots somehow and is connect to him to somehow.
Right now he is going to do some backpedaling as lots of what his critics said about him is coming true…….the guy isn’t so genuine and he manufactures his own hype like the hauler driver not shaving ect back flips ect……the guy is a great self promoter……..CE would fit right in with the wwe and their storylines, as he could write his own!!

I didn't buy into the "Business card story"...
yeah that story or where his mom would answere the phone # on that card as ce motorsports and sleeping in tents at casa grande, and you forgot his own newspapper adds??.....it was almost like when i make i'll have some storys to tell and build up a fan base

I think we put the "steroid" story to rest...CE is all about the "fitness"...When "Cousin Carl" first came into Nascar, I thought "Hmmmmm something just ain't right"...I didn't buy into the "Business card story"...BUT I know people who do, Let me just say this wheeling a 3500 lbs "Stock" car around and making it in the "Elite" series is NOT kids game or a game of chance(unless your at HMS) He HAS tons of talent...But after the Michigan incident with Jr and Robbie Gordon...he let his true colors show! and since that day I've lost all respect for the boy...Now he's a repeat offender...
K2 must be settin' up camp at the Hampton Inn LOL...clarification on previous post was suppose to read "Eric at MWR...NOT Riec"...all jacked up on RB make me type like aggie!
