Kenseth wins Ford 400 and Johnson wins title
As expected Jimmie Johnson won the championship.
Matt Kenseth won the Ford 400 at Homestead in a rather dominating fashion, only a few times were other cars able to challenge him and then start to fade away, while Kenseth just kept on going. Not bad considering they were having battery problems and there was also a mention of brakes too.
For the season finale, it was a rather boring race, not exactly what the fans were hoping for. It would have been nice to see more battles on the track. I do have to say good job to Jeff Burton and crew for battling back from tire problems early in the race to finish 8th.
Now, these cars will be no more, at least for the Cup Series and they'll move on to the COT, or whatever they want to call it.
Truex and Hamlin were the ones that finished outside of the top ten in the standings, meaning that while they made The Chase, they won't be at the table at the banquet.
Your thoughts?

Re:got to be nosey? what's the "GR2"?...
Well, Kurt2...I was a long time Rusty fan until he retired....and I just never changed it. I root for the driver..not the car#....

Too funny he walked out of the 5 transporter after Homestead with a JGR racing shirt on, it was funny as hell.
i think it's called burnin' your bridges or something like that.
maybe ky will need some ky after he has a "his brother/jimmie spencer" encounter in '08.
what was with ky running over Jr sunday?
i saw a nascar behind the scenes show where kyle had hit... was it biffle and in practice? several times and biff said that's just the way he is (kinda like ky is nuts, dumb, full o' himself, or all the above).
hope they hired some more fab guys at jgr, they are gonna need them.

Oh hell Grethcens going to start drinking Jack Daniels... UH OH>>>> LOL
Posted by: Kurt2 | Nov 20, 2007 12:22:54 PM
Kathy,
Right, I count down to when Daytona practice begins - lol.
Kurt2,
Yeah, I did notice a difference in Denny after the KP incident. I hope it's for real and not just for the cameras. I think him a Tony are getting along better now too.
Posted by: Diane | Nov 20, 2007 12:15:14 PM
Gretchen,
I look forward to testing too...I know Kurt2 and all involved don't, but us fans are another story. :)
Posted by: Kathy | Nov 20, 2007 12:13:57 PM
That Tamp Ex #11 IS and WILL BE the issue at JGR next year, and the years after that. I'm hoping Tony beats his a$$ one day.
kathy, I'm so pathetic, I count down to TESTING!!! LMAO!!
That Black 07 car looks reeeeaaaaallll good to me. And I like happy too....... I got some soul searching to do this off season.....
Posted by: Gretchen | Nov 20, 2007 12:09:54 PM
Denny continues with the likes of Kyle Petty, he wont have to realize it, he will get his rear beat.
After the Kyle P incident ,notice he behaved..
Posted by: Kurt2 | Nov 20, 2007 11:58:47 AM
I'm already counting the days.
Me too Diane, but I don't count down to the 500, I count down to the Shootout! Dang I got it bad. :)
Posted by: Kathy | Nov 20, 2007 11:57:45 AM
Kurt2,
I think you're right about the 11. I love people who have a lot of self-confidence and athletes who have a little hotdog in them. But there's a big difference between confidence and arrogance. I hope Denny realizes that some day.
Posted by: Diane | Nov 20, 2007 11:56:24 AM
Diane,
As I said it was funny as hell to see with a smart ass grin when I saw him. I almost LMAO.
Think your issue might be the 11

Too funny he walked out of the 5 transporter after Homestead with a JGR racing shirt on, it was funny as hell.
funnier if had been wearing it all race long under his suit lol nice way to say f--k you and good bye to HMS
KYB will get the last laugh in 08
Posted by: aggie | Nov 20, 2007 11:48:12 AM
aggie,
Thanks for the tip but since I live near Indianapolis, I'll have to dream of Jeff Saturday's eyes instead. But the Pats have one hell of a team.
Kurt2,
Kyle in a JGR shirt after the race, I'm getting a warm and fuzzy feeling for him already. Maybe he'll give Tony a run for his money in the sarcasm department.
Kathy,
Just let me know if you find the cure. I'm already counting the days.
Posted by: Diane | Nov 20, 2007 11:46:03 AM
Haven't found a cure for it yet Diane, but I keep looking! :)
Posted by: Kathy | Nov 20, 2007 11:38:16 AM
Diane,
Dont think the 18 car will be your issue this coming year. He is out of hell finally, and might suprise you alot. Too funny he walked out of the 5 transporter after Homestead with a JGR racing shirt on, it was funny as hell.
No cure for withdrawls, thats 1 thing I dont suffer from. Trust me before you know it testing in Daytona will be here
Posted by: Kurt2 | Nov 20, 2007 11:37:49 AM
Dianne
Does anyone know of a cure for "NASCAR Withdrawal"
just jump on the Pats band wagon, my daughter tells me Tom Brady is really easy on the eyes lol

K2
wow saw that crew guy in the bush race talk about quick feet
Posted by: aggie | Nov 20, 2007 11:32:55 AM
I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!!
Since I am a Tony Stewart fan, I am preparing myself for 2008 by meditating. One week I will chant for one hour each day: "I like Kyle Busch, I like Kyle Busch". The next week I will chant: "I like Denny Hamlin, I like Denny Hamlin". If I do this each week, maybe by February I will love everyone at JGR. :-)
Does anyone know of a cure for "NASCAR Withdrawal"? By the time this coming weekend is over, I will have a severe case and will need a cure.
Posted by: Diane | Nov 20, 2007 11:27:11 AM

okok
so are you back for another season??
and iam sure Keyes were fun.
Posted by: aggie | Nov 20, 2007 11:19:31 AM
Nascar 07 was easy compared to 08, at least on the PS3, car control is a lot harder, not sure if I'll ever get the hang of it. I usually don't mess with setups, haven't had to on previous games, but I think I will have to with this one. Never tried online, think I'd get too many people mad. :)
Posted by: Kathy | Nov 20, 2007 11:17:14 AM

My nephew got me addicted to Nascar 07...won 2 busch champs for RCR...I will pick up 08...yup I'm a junky now
BUT I'm trying to figure out how to hook 4 'putors together so me and the boys can duke it out on Nascar 4 by Sierra/Papayrus...THAT IS TOUGH, you really need to know setups! Had my car too free at Bristol got rubbed by a lap car...and I did my best Dave Blaney...turnin right to left before it took me a half lap to wreck

LOL Fan5, I'll probably being playing a lot of NASCAR 08 during the off-season to try and keep out of the loony-bin. I know it's a short off-season for everyone involved and a lot shorter than other sports, but for this fan, it's too long. LOL I'll survive though, always do, may drive everyone around me crazy though. :)

DEB
I understand all about only watching the begining and the end of the races.
no kidding saves you 4 hours
Id like to see what the tv ratings fall off is during a race
IMO the other tv shows hurt the race ratings, there are just so many other shows that can fill you in on what happened............Nascar on tv has
become like fast food, lots of varities in all flavours, besides the race 4-5 hours and the weekly tv shows another 4-6 hours, its a full time job being a fan never mind the paper, mags, the net and here
due to their mileage and cautions you cant do much to speed up races, so i cantt see the race lenght changing much
Posted by: aggie | Nov 20, 2007 2:23:58 AM
K2
Only saw Flipper today , JAws stayed away thank god

KK thing is blown out of proportion totally.
He was coming in with his brother whose cred for the Coach lot were in the transporter. Some security guys coming into pit road adn Coach lots think they are the face of NASCAR for some weekends. He in fact did not puch the older man to the ground. Gotta love the media.
F5 great idea, I was talking to a frind on the Army car adn can get some info . for this. Great idea to you and Bobbyfans info as well.
Aggie, Like Deb said speak English please.
F5, I know its out now, umm did you hear the real version of RE..
Only saw Flipper today , JAws stayed away thank god.Bossman and Boss took care of us well, but its damn good to be home and unpack till the Banquet.
Posted by: Kurt2 | Nov 19, 2007 10:24:14 PM
Aggie,
Speak English. I'm not an open wheeler, I only speak Bud English. No liquor for me, been there, done that, not pretty. Kahne is the best for Clearsil and Trojan, not the New Bud Man. I do have Khalua in the cabinet.
Posted by: Deb | Nov 19, 2007 7:55:17 PM
Deb
Liquor is quicker, so I can not go there.
Deb you gotta quit living la vida loca lol
Maybe his sweet little face could be a Bud Man after all or trying out for his new role.
best product for KK would have been clearsil with trojan condoms as an associate sponser along with axe after shave
Love to see the numbers on KK's demo within the gay community??
F5
did your shoot that turkey yet, for thursday??

Fan#5 and bobbyfan
Thank you both for the information on
our soldiers. I have previously sent
packages to them at Christmas and I plan
on doing the same this year. I donated
two free round trip airline tickets last
year so a couple soldiers could come home
for Christmas. We really can't do enough
for them compared to what they are doing
for us. I have a nephew in the marines
and a nephew in the army.
I'll third what Deb said, God Bless
America and our military.
Posted by: Angel | Nov 19, 2007 5:00:45 PM
Fan #5,
While this is an awesome idea, for security reasons, Walter Reed Hospital cannot accept mail from strangers and/or not addressed to a specific soldier. In the snopes link below, several other options are listed for sending things to the troops.
http://www.snopes.com/politics/christmas/soldiercards.asp
I'll second what Deb said, God bless American and our military.

Fan #5,
Great idea. Have a marine nephew who is a sniper went to Iraq twice, came back safe
both times. We are sending pkgs to the marines in Iraq this Christmas. Yes Fan#5,
God Bless America and our Military!!!!!!!
Posted by: Deb | Nov 19, 2007 3:09:35 PM
I recieved this via e-mail today, and thought what a great Idea! so I thought I'd pass it on!
When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, please
include the following:
A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue,NW
Washington , D.C. 20307-5001
If you approve of the idea, please pass it on to your e-mail list.
(Which I did) Hope you do also. These guys need all of the good cheers
and will that we can give them. God Bless America

Aggie,
Never tried Red Bull Light. I'm just a Bud Light girl. Wine puts me to sleep and Liquor is quicker, so I can not go there.
Hey, I saw something about Kahne knocking a security guard down Friday night. Maybe his sweet little face could be a Bud Man after all or trying out for his new role.
Posted by: Deb | Nov 19, 2007 2:17:34 PM
Deb
Those Bud hangovers are pretty bad.
switch over to red bull/lite and vodka and after dinner baileys on the rocks or in your coffee

"...Have a Blessed Thanksgiving (well aggie's funny country already celebrated)...

its not as big aday here as you guys have it and for shopping our big day
is dec-26th boxing day
F5 and K2 dont eat the whole 48 logoed bird ok save me some for a clubhouse sandwich lol OK
iam on both sides of the border so i take all white guy holidays off plus the jewish ones, mexican, philipino, european ect lol
Posted by: aggie | Nov 19, 2007 12:43:29 PM
Kath,
Thanks for the blogs. Thanks for leaving the lights on. Happy Thanksgiving!
Kurt2,
I hope Jaws didn't find you. Thanks for your insights and opinions. Rest your tired bones. Happy Thanksgiving
Gretchen,
Yes, this year sucked, but How Bout Them Dawgs? That had to put a smile on your face Saturday. There is not much to smile about in Nascar right now. Maybe if Brian could somehow come up missing then we all could smile. Happy Thanksgiving.
EN,
No Drinking this holiday season. Those Bud hangovers are pretty bad. Just the thought of Jr at Hendricks just makes me shutter, but I'll have to handle it. Happy Thanksgiving.
What a great way for Matt and Robbie to end the year and their time together. Congrats to them. Congrats to DW for standing up and being a voice for us. The Judge, The Jury and The Executioner has choked the life out of Nascar. I understand all about only watching the begining and the end of the races.
To All Of You,
Thanks for all the opinions. It's been fun and I hope all of you have a Happy and Safe
Holiday Season.
Posted by: Deb | Nov 19, 2007 12:35:04 PM
DW summed it up pretty good.
"in the old days we looked for the 3 L's...
low
lean
left.
the cot isn't low
it's a heavy car"
and it handles like a piece of shit.
however designed this brick needs a boot shoved up their ass.
would that be a bodine and nelson?
once in a while i feel warm and fuzzy and say kyle is a great driver who needs...
screw that
kyle is a total freakin dumb ass.
i'm tried of the "he's really matured" bullshit every week.
kyle: "i wasn't emotional after the win in the phoenix busch (hey it's named after ME) race. it'll be good to go somewhere better."
lol
LOL
HAHAHAHA
you're a dumbass f you ky boy.
name one driver KY hasn't run into yet in cup.
and denny thinks he is going to mediate between tony and the little bitch next year.
that should be fun to watch.
Posted by: exile | Nov 19, 2007 12:21:12 PM
K2
watch Roush next year
yeah no kidding as i think ford is going to step up and jack loves engineering its all cyclical and hey putting 5 cars into the chase that one year was still a pretty amazing
engine wise i dont anyone will ever have a year like HMS did 36 races X 4 cars and what 1 failure?? UNREAL
how about that Pats?? i see brady had another hard day and didnt get his hair out place again or sweat much UNREAL 9 games so far
