Merry Christmas to all NASCAR fans
I want to wish all the fans that visit the blog a very Merry Christmas and hope that Santa leaves you all the NASCAR presents you wish for.
Here's a little something I'm sure you've all seen around the web before...an oldie, but goodie.
A NASCAR Christmas
Twas the Race before Christmas
and all through the track
Each driver was ready to make his attack.
The tires had been stacked by the pit crew with care
With hopes none of them would run out of air.The drivers were belted all snug in their seats
Where visions of checkered flags looked mighty sweet. When out of the infield there rose such a clatter
The crowd sprang to their feet
to see what was the matter.
What sight met their wondering eyes as they rose
Twas Rusty Wallace punching somebody's nose. With eyes like the eagles the spotters they came
And they turned on their headsets
and called them by name
"On Spencer! On Petty! On Rudd and Jarrett!
On Cope! On Speed! On Ward and Jeff Burton!
At the top of the curve ran 'em into the wall!
Now gentlemen, start your engines all!"More rapid than lightning the Iceman they flew
With a sack full of cash and the Winston Cup too.
And then in a twinkling there came to the front
The bright rainbow colors of Gordon's DuPont. Then Bobby Labonte flew by in a flash
While Martin had a breakdown and Spencer a crash.
Then all at once with a rush and a roar
There came a new car they had not seen before. From bumper to bumper it was painted all red
North Pole Toy Co. was the sponsor they read.
With a little old driver so lively and quick
They all said at once, "Hey, this must be a trick!"A geezer like that shouldn't be driving here!"
"And why does his pit crew all have pointed ears?"
The next scheduled pit stop went kinda slow
For the old fellow stopped at each pit in the row.He spent no time at all, but left gas and oil
A new set of tires, new tools for their toil.
He asked no endorsement, demanded no fee
And left only coal for the black #3.
Childress got on the com and said Hey Intimidator..
Want to chew him up now, or sasve him for later?"
Dale spoke not a word, but went straight to his work
He gave him a nudge, then broadsided the jerk. But the old guy escaped with a zig and a zag
And crossed over the finish line, right at the flag.
The old man drove straight up to victory lane
Grabbed up the trophy and drank some champagne.Thanked all his sponsors and took the cash too
Stole a kiss from Brooke Gordon, and then off he flew
As he sped out of sight, one last cry did they hear,
"Merry Christmas to all, better luck next year!"

Gretch,
It rained here so much yesterday and you will be getting some of our water. I had these battery powered reindeer horns on my head that blink and we were loading and unloading in the pouring rain and my horns were so wet and everybody was waiting to see if I was going to fry when I turned them on. We were laughing so much over my stupid horns and didn't realize that my neice's oven was on fire. She tried to cook the Greenbean Casserole on broil instead of bake. Thank God the bird and deer roast did servive before the big fire. Look out, there is a big flood coming down your way.

Yeah,it is like that.My older sis is the one that brings the drama and over-emotional crap to lunch. Each time we all get together I can only hope that she acts right.Egg shells you know....
Damn, love raw oysters on the half shell!Need to be chilled though. We only have one place "Shucker's" in S.Pines locally and they are hit or miss. Can't say I would want them on Christmas, but when the adult beverages kick in you never know.I'm sure I'll indulge this weekend when we go down to the beach house on Oak Island.
All in all it was a good couple of days.No argueing, only one fire,a couple of debates.Holy cow though....After doing the "other family",which turned out better than I thought with the help of Shots of Crown and Boo-lites,me and my buds with the help of a DD,went to a party and drank 191 Everclear and punch shooters, more Crown, got another ride to our new found Mexican friend that own the local restaurant, partied with them untill 2am.Get this pic in your head...3 white boys dancing with ALL of the Mexicans in the middle of the house, laughing, spilling beer and having a blast! The treated us like family and that was special. We have got the owner hooked on Nascar after we took him to the Oct race in C'lotte and I took him into the pits and he loved it.He speaks good English so I can actually tolerate him!He loves the Budcar as I took a pic with him and he blew it up big in his house. Not sure if he knew who Jr was though.Trying to get him to like the 7!So I was hurting a little yesterday am.But all was well.
Yes,I have alot of time today in the office. Not marketing in the soup we have going on today. We need this rain though.........

Too funny! I thought that kind of stuff only happened to me. We always set the rolls on fire. Each year. Year in and year out without fail. The kitchen fills with smoke, and everyone bit**es. So we never have rolls with our food.
Oh sweet, here's a twist on the traditional Christmas dinner. We ate at 2:00. Then everyone sat around and talked, and drank, lol. I was with the Dad and Uncles outside- go figure. We were having drinks. Warm toddy's, and cold beer. Then after we drank for 4 hours, we had---some of you are going to barf--- raw oysters on the half shell. (Deb's gonna be pi$$ed because our seafood industry on the gulf coast is rapidly dwendeling Atlanta's water supply, because we need the fresh water to come down here, not stay up there.)
Mom lives near the coast and the guys went and bought two bushel's of raw oysters. But it was good. We only got into 3 NASCAR related arguments, and 1 argument that was not about NASCAR, but turned that way quickly.

Had to tell this one to that happened yesterday @ the parents house. My mom is also a bigtime hosts and all the family comes to the house for Christmas.Well, she goes like a tornado all morning and I try to help her untill she starts cussing @ me.She wants me to go light all the candles,so I get at it.Well,my pop had moved some around and 2 wear put under a lampshade.Yep,I lite those and went on about my task...next thing you know people are freakin' and because the lamp shade was on fire and smoking up the joint! The damn thing is doing like plastic does, dripping fire,me and my pop are trying to get the thing away from the curtains and carpet! The stuff dripped on my hand and his, left a few blisters...Crazy stuff and the kinda luck I seem to have! But on the other hand we were lucky no major damage was done.Needless to say alot of the blame game went around.I blamed pop for moving them and mom for rushing me.Sounded good to me.........

G,That's a funny deal with your family.I did that kind of stuff with my 2 buds.I am the grill master and host when it comes to racing, softball, superbowl, whatever.I never buy beer as an equalizer,so they give me crap about it.So,I brought a case of B-Lites,wrapped it and gave it to them.I gave the fatter of the 2(both are 0ver 240)a jump rope and the other a can of Folger's since he drinks way too much and likes Mark Martin. They give me grief since I have been on a mission to get to 190 before softball season starts in March.
Another story that I'm not happy about....Ordered some stuff from Nascar.com.Ordered it in time to get here by the 24th.Wasn't here by the 23rd,then the 24th.Kept getting the runaround on the phone and emails.Needless to say I wasn't in a festive mood. They told me they would give a refund.I hate that deal, cause that what you always get.The crap didn't come today either!
I think I am going to sue for "The loss of enjoyment of life"!!!!K2,can't get over that one.How do you spell sue?Is that right?
Posted by: DJ | Dec 26, 2007 12:20:58 PM
Oh DJ I fell you on the self medication-----I survived Christmas though.
Another Story---my dad, my brother, and the Uncles are into NASCAR big time like me . Well, they are all really into racing period- NHRA too. One of the Uncles hands me a tube like thing- he quit watching this year when it became the showdown between those two drivers- lol--and he says that that since now my driver is no longer the Bud Man as they have opted for the Bud Boy now- lmfao- that he feels safe in giving me this new gift. I was clueless. I was thinking maybe it was an Amp Drink which he would then hand me Grey Goose to go with it.......It was a pair of Miller Lite Pajama pants in a big can that is now serves as a piggy bank- lol. And he says that they all noticed that PRIOR to May of 1999 I drank Miller Lite and Coors Lite, then after E Jr. made his debut at Charlotte Motor Speedway then I started drinking Bud Lite!! LOL!! I truly had no clue that they had noticed...
That was the closest thing to a NASCAR gift I got this year. I was getting Dale Jr. Beer Steins for the last 5 years. The Dad and the Uncles told me that they didn't know whether to buy me any 88 stuff because I've been so pi$$ed off since May about the move to HMS. LOL! They were scared to give me any Amp stuff! LOL!

Posted by: kurt2 | Dec 24, 2007 11:03:10 PM
Keith, thanks for the info and we'll check it out.Nice story Gretchen.I also myself have dropped 13 in and month and half.I switched from Corona and XX Equi's to Budlite and Grey Goose!Oh yeah, and more cardio and less lifting.Tonite will be the 26's brand and coke with the occasional Boolite.Got my woman's family(in which I will need to be self-medicated with the C and C),my local Mexican joint's family has befriended us and supports my softball habit,so they invited me and my buds. That meant I had to make another trip to Wallyworld this am for their kids! They party pretty hard,so the am might be rough.
The weather here is 55 @ the Rock.Need some clouds and cool to help with the spirit.Again,be safe in ya'll travels........

Gretchen,
We had a single digit wind chill last night with the real temp at 24. It's only 34 now. But it was nice because we had a little bit of snow last night, maybe some more today. Congratulations on the 15 lbs.!! Maybe I'll switch to Jack and see if it works for me. :-)

Went to class many a morning with it being 7 or 8 degrees. My other half is miserable- keep your jokes to yourself guys, I know if ya'll had to live with me you'd be miserable too ha ha.
He freezes if it drops below 60. lol!! I don't even have on a jacket and his a$$ is bundled up like a god**** eskimo! lol.
Oh yeah, TMI I know but....ya'll who've been on here for a while know that my stupid doctor told me to lose 10 lbs by the 17th back in October. Well I lost 15!! Whoo Hoo. I think it's because I switched from beer to Jack D.with diet DP and Diet Coke!! LOL!!!

Kathy,
Christmas Update!
An event for you Christmas stargazers. Mars will lead a full moon thru the sky (Some say it's Rudolph).

Gretchen,
Loved your NASCAR story. You are now one of my favorite people. I won't shop at Lowe's either. It's Home Depot or nothing.
It's cold here in Indiana today, so I'm going to warm up this evening with Jamie M's. product. Merry Christmas everyone.
Posted by: Diane | Dec 24, 2007 11:01:30 AM
Gretchen, I love it! Sounds like something I would do too. :)
Posted by: Kathy | Dec 24, 2007 10:18:29 AM
K2 and Deb, yes. I am VERY concerned about our bowl game and the Colt Brennan Express. UH is a dang good football team.
The offseason is killing me. Christmas is killing me as well. I am broke and tired and bored. The NFL just doesn't hold my attention a like the races do.
Funny NASCAR fan story....yesterday my mom calls me to meet her to pick up one of my Christmas gifts- I asked for a new grill. ( I LOVE grilling. I mean LOVE it) So.....she calls and says to meet her at Lowe's to pick it up, and I say " Nope. Go to Home Depot." Mom says they're on sale at Lowe's $30 cheaper. And I say " Mom. I'll give you the $30". lol!! She says that I am WAAAYYY too obsesive about "this NASCAR stuff". Anywho, we met at the Depot.. LOL!!

To those of you who are regularly offer your view on a given issue, thank you for the laughs I've enjoyed reading this year. So now, armed with three fingers of Clint's Old No. 7 this old geezer lifts his glass to all of you, while waiting for that little geezer in the red suit to arrive. Marry Christmas and a happy New Year to all.

Merry Christmas to you and the girls. Glad to hear your walking now. I want a t-shirt with a Bulldog eatin Vick. I'm alittle worried about these Hawaii dudes. That little Colt boy has some big time stats. I'll have to get started on my IV of Bud pretty early to watch this game.
Agg,
All I want for Christmas is for you to shut that freezer door and keep that blower turned off. Merry Christmas!!!
Gretch,

Hey stranger.
Kathy- a Jermey Mayfiled shirt with BEST BUY on it, JPM hat, JJ sweatshirt and JG sweatpants.....Lat but not least a Skinner hat
Well, at least I'd have something to burn if the power goes out in the next winter storm. :)
Posted by: Kathy | Dec 22, 2007 10:58:22 PM
Ok, serious one here...
Kathy, first and foremost buddy, thanks for letting "me in" here and being able to "voice" what happens , and state the things that happen. As you know I will remain quiet on a lot of things , prior to them coming out(you know what I mean).
I enjoy this blog alot. Hell even Aggie seems to kinda stopped smoking crack:)
kathy, you do a great job with the blog and many people including myself, and the "others" that venture in here to read, which you know whom I mean.
To all of you I wish you the best Christmas you could have with your families and friends..
Xmas list
Kathy- a Jermey Mayfiled shirt with BEST BUY on it, JPM hat, JJ sweatshirt and JG sweatpants.....Lat but not least a Skinner hat...( I had too>>> I know the trouble I am in...)
Gretchen, Bud , Jack Daniels, a Bulldog shirt ..
Deb, Red Bull, and a bulldog hat
Jon, anything OK would make you happy:)
Fan5- A crew chief contract for Brad C... Hell make it for BV, and a meeting at the diner or the reflecting pool to trade "war stories" and some common knowledge.
Racefan- well a A+, you are doing the best thus far and you know what I mean
DA24JG, for being one of a handful of JG fans I can get along with. Compliment to you, known the guy for a long time , and is a good guy, but you are normal and see him as a human with mistakes and indisgressions like we all have.
StricklinFAN, for the logical voice of the "ole school era"
Aggie, anything that you need, besides the crack you kept smoking when you began posting on here.. You tamed out some, (J/K)
J2 and Jeff, anything you can fathom from HMS. Yes JJ won the Title. Its done now in 2 weeks plus when we venture to Daytona. He was last yeasr Champ...
Last but not least Brian F,, I would like to give him a clue in life..
Thanks to you all for letting me in here,as this sport isnt all "sport " anymore. Besides business, its as we say "the big show"..
You will all see some "suprises" this year in Cup..... Alot of faces winning races you wouldnt expect...and a lot of bigger faces not.....
