« Gordon's appeal set for March 5 - Could his NASCAR teams future be riding on this appeal? | Main | NASCAR penalizes Edwards and team »

Edwards is on a roll
Carl Edwards won his second Cup race in a row, he definitely had the car to beat in today's race. Teammate Matt Kenseth probably had the best car to battle with him, but we never got to see if that battle would have happened after Kenseth was spun when Jeff Gordon got loose and tagged him, sending Kenseth spinning and Gordon ended up slamming into the inside wall hard, destroying his car.
Although NASCAR would probably like to downplay it, it seemed as if tire problems played a big role in quite a few of the wrecks in today's race and yesterdays Nationwide race. Lots of hard impacts into the outside wall because of tires cutting down or blowing out. Tony Stewart had to be helped from his car after his hard impact.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a good second place finish, followed by Biffle, Harvick, Burton, Kahne, Ragan, Kvapil, Hamlin and Martin. I was surprised to see Ragan and Kvapil up there since we're not use to seeing them there and it's good to see Kahne and Biffle seeming to shake their bad luck from last year off and having good finishes.
Your thoughts?

Thumbs Up:
- Roush Racing's CoT Program
Another great run for all the Roush drivers not named Jamie McMurray. Boy Carl Edwards has sure been dominant in this car lately. Putting aside Martinsville and the plate races that are their own animals, he won a Bristol, won at Dover, blew up leading at Richmond, blew up leading at Phoenix, won at California, and won at Las Vegas. WOW.
- Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Great run for Dale Jr. on a 1.5 mile track. This should be the start of a great year.
- Richard Childress Racing
Harvick and Burton very quietly get top 5 finishes. I'll give Bowyer a pass for driving a backup car with no laps of practice.
- Kasey Kahne
Another strong run despite Kasey's illness.
- Travis Kvapil
WOW, what a run for this team. He should've finished in the top 10 at California and had an outstanding run today. I thought after Daytona Yates Racing was doomed but Kvapil has totally proved me wrong. Someone step up and sponsor this team!
- Ken Schrader
Very good run for the BAM Racing team after missing the first 2 races.
- Scott Riggs
Before his crash he had one hell of a run for the Haas Team.
Thumbs Down:
- Jimmie Johnson
WHAT WAS THAT?????????????
- Kyle Busch
I guess it says a lot when the #18 team finishing 11th is a total shocker and a complete disappointment.
- Dave Blaney
I still don't get all the hype.
- J.J. Yeley
I guess Tony Raines wasn't the problem last year and Steve Addington isn't such a bad crew chief afterall eh?
- Kyle Petty and the #45 team
Countdown to the B.S. 43/45 point swap - 3 weeks
- Regan Smith
Boy I expected a lot more from this guy this year after getting the chance of a lifetime.
- Sam Hornish Jr.
What a boneheaded mistake he made in Nationwide qualifying and another disappointment in a non-restrictor plate Cup race. I still can't believe he only missed the Nationwide field by 2 tenths of a second after crashing for that long prior to reaching the finish line. Talk about driving over the edge for no good reason, yikes. I wonder if DW is still picking him to be Rookie-of-the-Year.
