Kasey Kahne wins All-Star Race
Kasey Kahne was voted in as the fan favorite and he thanked the fans by winning the All-Star Race. It was the first time a voted in driver has won, congrats Kasey!
Allmendinger and Hornish transferred over by having the top two spots in the Challenge. Even though Allmendinger won the Challenge, it was a good bet that he didn't get any congratulations from Elliot Sadler, who had an early run-in with Allmendinger that took him out of the race.
In the All-Star Race it seemed like Kyle Busch was going to run away with it, but they had engine troubles, as did teammate Denny Hamlin, Tony Stewart had troubles in practice which started him at the rear of the field for the race, something was definitely amiss in the engines at JGR and they need to get that fixed before the 600 next weekend.
OK, rant time. What was with DW last night? He couldn't seem to make up his mind on who he thought was going to win the race, he jumped from one driver to the next, whoever was doing the best at the time. First he was all Kyle Busch, then he jumped to Edwards, Johnson, Jr. and Biffle. It seemed like whoever was the "hottest" at the moment was his pick, he just couldn't seem to stick with anyone, but he never did pick the winner of the race, Kasey Kahne.
Your thoughts?

Sadler said he had no desire to chat.
I agree with both of you. Allmendinger has
tried to talk to Elliott Sadler but to no
avail. E.S. is wrong, I guess, he doesn't
remember what he did to Smoke but I guess
in his mind that doesn't count. What's
happened to the Golden Rule? All drivers
makes mistakes but then be man enough to
admit it. That's one thing I'll have to
give Dale Jr. credit for, if he makes a
mistake on the race track, he will admit
it.

Sadler said he had no desire to chat. "I've got better things to do and more things to worry about than talking to him," Sadler said.
and guys like wonder they have such shit luck even if they have been some what successful and got into cup

Look FS, I’m not sure whether you are retarded or slow or just not mentally all there. I never said I wanted to “whup up on” anyone, quite the opposite actually. I simply gave you a chance to find your balls and meet with people present to allay your fears of being beat up. I guess you proved my previous points and my characterization of you was, and remains, accurate. This conversation is at an end for me as I now realize that I was in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent and my honor code as a U.S. Army Paratrooper forbids me to do battle with anyone who is, in fact, unarmed and/or lacking mental capacity.
Have a nice day and enjoy your weekend…….its on my friends and me……..

J2..respectfully, you usually ask for it and I believe you thrive on it.You are the one that usually resorts to the name calling, not so much by an actual name, but the way in which you say something or take a personal jab on someone's character.Let's see...The "satan" whatever deal with Rad,the calling of Gretch comments stupid not too mention the attack on my charcter as far as my parenting skills? There are more I'm sure,so the way I see it,you deserve it.I refrain from the "foul" language untill you post something on a personal level. Then I go off.As I would if anyone on a pc or face to face.I actually give you some benefit of doubt when you post something relevant to the topic. But then you go off on something other than the intent of a poster. To each it's own I suppose.........
Hey Kat...give us another topic as this has reached it's summit!LOL!
Hope all have a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend.Remember our troops near and far and let's not forget those and their families that have giving the ultimate sacrifice to allow us the freedom to go to the races and type on blogs!
Now if we could just get someone go get the people in charge of making the gas prices skyrocket!!I paid 3.89 here in NC,up 10 cents since yesterday!

Change of subject, sorry.
The following quotes are why I love Allmendinger's personality and why I think Elliot Sadler is an FS:
Allmendinger called Sadler this week to apologize. "He didn't call me back," Allmendinger said. "I don't know if he knew who it was because I did say, 'This is what's his name' when I left the message. So I'm not sure if he knew who it was. I've done what I can. I've apologized enough and now I'm just focused on this week."
Sadler said he had no desire to chat. "I've got better things to do and more things to worry about than talking to him," Sadler said.
I still don't know why Sadler was so upset with A.J. since he did the same thing to Stewart the week before in a points race on the 2nd or 3rd lap. Does he think his sh-t don't stink?

"It would be a really boring world (and blog) if we all agreed on everything. Right J2?"
Posted by: Diane | May 22, 2008 9:38:16 PM
Absolutely.
We can disagree but do so agreeably without the need to resort to name calling and use of foul language like some who I won't mention like DJ, K2, Gretchen, and Roo(ad)ster.
Roo(ad)ster,
Just take a number and get in line for the whup up on me session. FYI: K2, DJ, and a list too long to ponder are currently ahead of you.

K2,
No need to defend me to an ignorant fuck like that. If he wants to see who I am he is welcome to come down to Charleston (I am in the book)or, if he wants I could just drop by his place (maybe bring a cop or two with me so he isn't afraid to get his ass beat as he alluded to in other posts). I am in that neck of the woods very often (have a lot of family all around him). But what am I saying....he is but a pussy and will never meet face to face. Oh well, like I said earlier (but this time the real saying) I FOUGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT TO BE A PUSSY, FUCKSTICK.
K2, good luck this weekend. May your driver see the checkers first! Hope all is well...........
BTW sorry if I have offended anyone but FS on here. It was never intended.

I will be a fan of Jeff whether he wins or
not.
There are some other drivers I like and
pull for to and Jeff Gordon is one of them.
Also, I would like to see Mark Martin win
a race, he's doing good this year. That
Kyle Busch is an awesome driver and he's
on the pole for the 600 this week-end. I'm
hoping one of my drivers will win it.
I wish you and your girlfriend the best of
luck and enjoy the wine with her.
I WISH EVERYONE A SAFE AND HAPPY MEMORIAL

Dipshit:
His name is Radster not Rooster. Are you that ignorant??
You are going to defend Jeff G and Brookes marriage? What a crock, you want to defend what both did to one anohter, you fail to mention a certain person whom has been passed thru the garage prior to mariage..
Where is she know? OOOPPPS no damn where..
On Jeff G, I can grasp from some whom dont bow to him(unlike you J2), the issues they have. I can , personally Jeff G is a cool guy. You "want him to run the issues up thru Rick?" You want a union.. That alone made me spit my damn water.
NASACAR WILL NEVER BE A UNION> THEY ARE AND WILL BE UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS 4 ever..
I agree Jeff G needs to step up and MAN up on some issues. Jeff B has, Sr did. Now we head to JJ and JG whom blow a shitload of smoke? Doesnt work.. Smoke speaks his mind wheter it is to Helton, Darby or the Drunk, opps Brian F(FS JR), thanks Rad I had to borrow that..:)_
You want to go all high and mighty and beside the 88 car YOUR BOYS havent done a damn thing????? Pack a lunch, eat wheaties, Chai tea, or a granola bar.You cant prduce a damn thing this year, 3 out of 4 of your HMS boys are lost on the car.. NASCAR changes the car cause HMS bitches..HUMMMM, odd , or in your reluctant mind "FAIR"
Sorry Kathy and to all the ladies on here, long day and night, then to read a FS come at some here for "VAILD"opinons is a joke..
Many have said it, FS loves the keyboard, and I doubt F5, he would ever "spout off" in public"
Dj, email you in AM..Tired as hell, but the 18 is on a roll ladies and Gents... Not the "test engine" this weekend either
Might see some RCR cars in the "mirrorball tommorrow" for some picks aggie..

I understand the the trouble with some posters on here and I would rather not be associated with them. There are a lot of drivers I like besides Gordon, even root for them at times. Can't help but want to see Mark Martin win. Although I am not a big fan of Kyle Busch, I like the excitement he brings to the track.
Diane, Dottie
I will be a fan of Jeff wether he wins or not. For Jr, I think he is a great young man that had a heavy load to carry. It is good to see him doing so good and would like to see him have the success people have expected of him. I prefer to drink beer and whiskey, but two years ago I met my girlfriend and now include wine as one of my drinks. But I will tell you it has been worth it.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day.

JD-I'm glade that you are a Jeff Gordon fan.
Diane, good post, thank you
Earnhardt Nation
Thank god we got a points race this week-
end.
Dale Jr. is my favorite driver to. He's
done good so far this season, now all he
needs to do is win a race but let's don't
give up on him yet. Most of the drivers
are having problems with the COT, with the
exception of Kyle Busch and he is on the
pole for the 600. I'm looking forward to
the 600 and I hope it's not a long draged
out boring race but I will watch it
regardless since I am a die hard fan.
JD
I've been a Jeff Gordon fan since he
started in cup racing.
I have always liked Jeff Gordon and think
he's a great race car driver. Like you,
everyone has their favorites and they are
entitled to their opinions so I don't pay
much attention to the bashing. I don't
think, I am part of the wine and cheese
crowd either, more like the Budweiser gal.
Posted by: Dottie | May 22, 2008 11:03:29 PM
The worst kind of fans are those arrogant loud mouth Jr fans who think the sport was built around them and everyone else who's there to root on a driver is just there to fill the seats.
Not EVERY Jr fan is like that, but unfortunately those arrogant ones give the sane and respectible ones a bad name and i'd wish the announcers and media would quit egging them on and supporting their actions.
I believe the TV stations do turn up the volume when Jr leads or goes out to qualify because Stewart,Gordon, and Kahne among others have tons of fans that would be loud if they got out front in a race and the swinging of the camera when he's leading needs to go i feel that aint right for other drivers/their fans, but i guess we fans of other drivers dont matter.

Rad...A toast and a prayer for you and your bros' and sis' will occur as it should on this special weekend.Dude,I was in R Hill.We drove up for an 11am game and that was the only game we played Sat.I wasn't about to drive back,so we stayed at the local roach motel and rednecked it up at The Long Branch...dude way to many beverages and one too many goose and redbull put my, well you know, in the dirt!I'd been there bro!
JD,I don't hate the 24 at all.He seems like an alright dude.I met him at a wedding years ago in Asheboro while Brook was in the wedding.I admire him more for standing uo to TS at one road course and the 17 at Bristol.Good for him.But when you have a fan like J2,that brings pulling for the guy and HMS down because of the way he brings all this other non-racing bullshit into the topic at hand, you have people like us haten'.Hell, I like wine and cheese dude! But I prefer Budlite and brats. My guy is the 7,so you kinda know how I roll.......
Di,you got it girl!
Agg...local Mexican establishments and cervezas...no mas tequila!!
K2....met the trooper last nite while on the local Mex establishment deck that picked up TS,Ragan,Zip and son.He is a local guy.Real cool.In uniform, it kinda cramped my style you know, but actually asked if I would trade him that cold beer and I cover the rest of his shift!

Thank god we got a points race this weekend....I think the 600 will be a more competitive race than most feel its gonna be...
I'm curious to see how much "teamwork" will be used when guys like STEWART/HAMLIN/KYLE BUSCH and the HENDRICKS guys get around each other...of course the way the 24,48,and 5 have been running this year,my boy JUNIOR will be lucky to get any damn help!
KURT 2,
I PREDICT ALL 3 OF MIKEYS CARS IN THE TOP 30!! WOO HOO!! LOL!

JD - I'm glad that you are a Jeff Gordon fan. His racing ability deserves a lot of fans. He started his career here in Indiana and with lots of talent and some good breaks he became a super star. He appeals to some fans and doesn't to others. It would be a really boring world (and blog) if we all agreed on everything. Right J2?
Posted by: Diane | May 22, 2008 9:38:16 PM
JD,
That puts you in minority in my experience of Gordon fans, most that I know only follow him because he wins and that is what a front running fan is.
Posted by: Jon | May 22, 2008 9:28:58 PM
Jon2,
Are you too stupid to read what I posted, I wouldn't agree with a moron like you.
Posted by: Jon | May 22, 2008 9:00:09 PM
I've been a Jeff Gordon fan since he started in cup racing. I don't think I am part of the wine and cheese crowd, more the Bud ans JD crowd. Gordon was hardly a front runner in 93. There are some other drivers I like to root for, but Gordon was the first one I started with. Don't pay a lot of attention to the bashing. Everyone has their opinion and their favorites. Kathy has a good blog and it is a favorite for me. A lot of incite into NASCAR on here.
Posted by: JD | May 22, 2008 8:55:04 PM
Thanks Jon,
It's refreshing to know that someone else here agrees with Darrell and myself that Jeff brought the sport into mainstream America.
Posted by: Jon2 | May 22, 2008 8:04:53 PM
Jon2,
Jeff Gordon is only responsible for bringing two types of fans to NASCAR the wine and cheese crowd and the front running fans. We don't need any of those types around here.
You really need stop listening to people like Darrel who claim that Gordon is responsible for the popularity of NASCAR.

Hey DJ,
Back is doing well now. I think the race really helped (all the moving around and whatnot). One of the guys got sick and we had an extra ticket.....thought about trying to get ahold of you but had no internet access and forgot to save your # to my phone. Would have given you a free ride for the weekend! Oh well. Guess that's the way it goes.
I know what your saying about feeling your age though. It has taken me a couple of days to fully recover!! But good to go now. Ready for this Memorial Day weekend. Gotta drink a toast or two (or twelve) for all my brothers and sisters lost and those still fighting.
(commercial on)
Please all, take a moment out of your busy weekend and at least think about them. They do what they do for you!
NEVER FORGET!
(commercial off)
Hope you have a great weekend DJ, drink one or two for me cuz I damn sure had a couple for everyone on here! LOL!

Geez J2...someone makes an interesting topic for discussion and you turn it into something that only your brain can understand and just start making shit up.Dude, not sure your deal but has nothing to do with being normal.I never said your guy is a bad person. Some might, but it is their right to have an opinion.I mentioned that I'm sure he does alot for charities and I mentioned that he might not want to be THAT guy.The discussion was that or just someone's opinion about why he didn't or hasn't taken his popularity to another level to aid the sport's image or whatever. That's what all you ass wipes, tree hugger, anti this and anti that, political, peta, march hear, protest there types do.You look for an opporuntiy to turn something small into something way more than the intent of the original post or thought. And it evolves on what your brain or their brain thinks, not what the point was and what the majority involved think. You turn things into your circus and you get it back full bore because the people firing back have a set(no offense Gretch and Di),but you know what I mean. You always manage to cross the line when you get on your J2 train, and one day it will back fire on your ass........
Anywho again....How bout them Braves!!How bout that Robby Gordon!!How bout Humpy and Jabba the Hud Bruton!!Something behind the scene with that one I would think.
Hey Rad,hope your back is getting better.Man,If I had gone and partied last weekend at the Winston I doubt my body would allow 4 weekends of charcoal and mass quantities of adult contents!Me and my gang are getting ready for Sunday.I sure as hell hope the racing isn't like Darlington and the Winston.
K2 must be a speed streets or whatever.I was going to go,but we have 2 softball make up games tonite.Rock on people.Aggie, you been Thunderstruck!!

Please refresh my tiny little mind with my Anti-Semitic rant. I can not recall, but I fucking assure you it was MORE than likely YOU taking something quite literally. Like when I said the wrong member of the France family died in the plane crash- using and analogy YOU were offended by to make a point.
And my analogy was NOT in poor taste at all IMO. It was dead on, and A LOT of people not only GOT it, but AGREE with me as well.
Sorry to ruffle the lace on your underwear by not praising your man.
Diane summed it up quite well many posts ago. Jeff ain't got the balls to be a leader.

well you marriages for these guys should be like mortgages 35 year amerotizations with 3 year renewals/terms or maybe like a hi end car lease 2-3 years and less than 365 or 730 days of sexual activity
she pulled him away from the track and wanted him there as lil a possible probably so wouldn't do what he did maybe lol
JG did ok, he is one of few guys who married UP that i know, guys always marry down on rounds 2-3-4-5 lol
he got very good trade in value for brooke,
brooke was extra clean one owner low miles, no body scrathes nice smooth lines lol and iam sure the interior and carpeting matched lol

YES I AM comparing Bonds and Gordon. They BOTH feel "distracted" by the "other stuff". In your own words, it's a distraction. In THAT regard they are the alike.
Goddamnit. You FAIL repeatedly to see BEYOND the literal meaning of anything.

Brooke's biggest problem with Jeff was he was doodling someone else.
I've never heard of anyone breaking up a marriage because a spouse leaves events early or fails to help out his/her spouse's competition. Maybe you read it wrong.
Gretchen,
You're comparing a performance enhanced drugged up misfit like Barry Bonds to Jeff Gordon?
That is just to stupid to even elicit a comment.

Originally, MY POINT was just that I WISHED that Jeff Gordon was more active OBO his fellow drivers in the workings of NASCAR, because of all of his accolades and succeses within this sport. I just want him to be more active within the sport.
He's been around forever. He's respected by most all of his fellow drivers. He's articulate, and knowledgable.
I WANT HIM TO BE A LEADER. Bottom Line. And I've started all of this controversy.
Sorry Kathy!!!

you can correct me on this one OK
wasnt jg and brookes biggest problems with each other was that he was always last to show up and first to leave the track and he also never did much for helping outher drivers with their events like charity functions???
i recall reading taht somewhere about him and her?
Posted by: aggie | May 22, 2008 3:29:16 PM
"In the final analysis the other stuff is mostly a distraction." jon2
My god you are distracting me today.
That "other stuff" is NOT a distraction at all. It is an obligation that bestows itself upon you along with your fame. My ORIGINAL post said something to the effect, that Gordon was like Bonds.
And ALL of your banter, and my banter, and Rad's, and Diane's, etc. have proven THAT point beyond a shadow of a doubt, IMHFO. Jeff Gordon is sort of like Barry Bonds.
Bonds looked at EVERYTHING aside from baseball as a distraction to him. He felt ZERO obligation to oblige fans, etc. with ANY part of him. He felt they were priviledged to get to see his juiced up ass hit hr's. Bonds may have donated some $$, but he gave NONE of himself BACK to the sport that gave so much to him. And THEN he couldn't imagine how the fans could turn on him as they did after his true colors were shown so goddamn brightly by the government. MAYBE if Barry had connected more with the Baseball community, his fall wouldn't have been so damn fast and hard.
Posted by: Gretchen | May 22, 2008 3:28:26 PM
Well I felt your remark about Jeff being self-centered and selfish with respect to his giving was meritless on your and Gretchen's part.
But thanks for your comments and where we disagree, we do so in a civil manner.

Did you ever read or recall all of jeff's toys and lifestyle when he was going thru his divorce?
It was something like 50K plus a month just to look after all the cars houses and toys not including the jet......
the only diffeerence in $$$ between him and mike tyson is that tyson is now broke lol and jeff still has $$$ rolling in LOL
Gretchen did you see where they have channel surfing as one of the uses of the new nike cross trainers??

Jon2 - Sorry, but I never once said that Tony gave more money than Jeff. I said he spends HIS money on race programs and race tracks to give back to the sport. And most of all he gives his TIME to help children. I just pointed out that Tony gives in a different way than Jeff - like getting his back waxed - Ouch :).
I applaud Jeff and Tony for what they do. Their FOUNDATIONS RAISE a lot of money for charity.
And you're right that Jeff doesn't have to do anything except get in his car and race. I know he's a nice person and loves his family. I guess I might be expecting too much.
K2 - Did you read that JPM was upset about Chip getting rid of Elledge? He asked Chip to keep him but Chip didn't listen to him.

Thank you Gretchen, I know I am. And in light of the fact it ain't been a stellar year for him and his team, I'd advise him to focus on the important things that's gonna turn his season around and don't get distracted by things unncessary to his purpose in the sport, and that's to win.
To me Jeff is Mr.NASCAR when he wins and succeeds, and First and Foremost that's his main responsibility and primarily what he was hired by Rick to do. In the final analysis the other stuff is mostly a distraction.

Jeff Gordon has been around long enough, j2, that he shouldn't need RH to fight battles for him. Fact is Jeff could walk right the F**k out of HMS and be an EQUALLY rich motherf***er within 12 hours driving for the team of his choice.
"Their sole purpose is to drive and win races."
I'll just agree to disagree with you there sir. Jeff Gordon is - should be rather- much "bigger" so to speak, than say David Ragan, in the workings and everyday goings on in NASCAR. To A LOT of folks, Jeff IS NASCAR.
Nope jon2, he did NOT "sign on" to do a god**** thing except drive that Rainbow Bright car. You ARE correct.

Rooster, what in the name of satan's abode are you doing here wasting time with your useless comments when you oughta be concentrating on getting my boy back up front and competing in light of the fact this season has been a major disappointment.
Get your a-double-s outa here and get back to work.

Interesting tidbit, let's revisit the pissing contest about the depth of giving by TS vs JG.
Just visited guidestar.org which compiles foundation giving and other tidbits of financial info related to non-profits and in 2006 Jeff's org out gave Tony's org by a margin of 3-1 to needy causes like Make A wish and such in 2006.
Jeff like Tony fully understand that their impact is greater felt when they can give funds to those orgs who address the specialized needs of their targeted groups.
So you can't say my driver don't put up when it comes to helping others. That's a bunch of crap.
Leadership? The drivers want leadership to address NASCAR issues, they got owners don't they? Don't want to go that route, let 'em unionize and get a voice that way like they do in the NBA, NFL, with their elected union reps. Whose the player leader in the NBA? Whose the player leader in the NFL? Ain't got none. They're paid to play. Ya got a beef with the league take it up with management. Ya got a beef with management, take it with your union rep. Jeff never signed on the CUP series to become the intercessor to mediate the bitchfest toward NASCAR of the other drivers. None of 'em did. Their sole purpose is to drive and win races. Ya gotta beef, take it up with your management. Harvick's got a beef, run it up the flagpole to Richard C. He's big enough to handle it with NASCAR if it merits addressing. Jeff's got a beef, run it up the flagpole to Rick H.

Damn Dude, I think the only one who got pissy here was you. There really is no need to get all bent out of shape just because no one here subscribes to your line of BS. Everyone here is allowed to have there own thoughts on the matter or on any matter for that fact and that includes you. I don't jump your case because of what you believe, I jump your case because you expect everyone else to believe your stuff. I respect everyones beliefs, hell, it is what I fought for! So there you go, there is my bothers, my sisters and my gift to you. We fought (& still fight) for your right to be a sissy (or whatever else you want to be)!
Guess that's what I get for trying to be civil with ol' FS there.

Jon2, If he's taxed like all the 'other' millionaires, he pays about 17%. We (the hands-on working stiffs) pay twice the taxes the rich pay.

Okay let's stop this pissing contest on whose got the big heart and who hasn't, on who gives more than the other guy. It's fair to say that the drivers of NASCAR are a giving and caring bunch of guys and the world is better for it.
