NASCAR comes down hard on Haas CNC
Everyone expected a penalty since NASCAR impounded the two Haas CNC cars, but I'm not sure they expected the severity of the points penalty that was handed down.
I think most people were expecting the same 100 point penalty that DEI got with their rear wing mount infraction last season, but NASCAR upped it a bit, at least on the points part. NASCAR took 150 driver points and 150 owner points from both the #66 car of Riggs and the #70 car of Sauter, additionally both crew chiefs were fined $100,000 and suspended for the next six races, the car chiefs were also suspended for the next six races.
If you follow NASCAR, or at least payed attention last season, this penalty seems a bit stiffer than the one handed down to DEI last season where 100 points were taken and only the crew chief was suspended. I didn't find anything where they said the infraction was different than DEI's last year, but NASCAR obviously wants to send that message about not messing with anything having to do with the wing.
On the other side of penalties, this time in the Nationwide series, Tony Eury Sr. and two JR Motorsports crew members were penalized for the altercation after the race with Denny Hamlin and his crew. Eury Sr. was fined $1,000 and placed on probation, two crew members were fined $1,500 and placed on probation, one of them is also suspended for one race.

Nascar continues its "consistancy" in penalties, not!Too me, another way to make sure already struggling teams continue to struggle and the elite teams continue to thrive as the sponsors leave the sport and the costs rise to the point the smaller teams will be forced to get out of the sport.IMO......
Tough deal for this team as it puts them in a hole as far as qualifying each week and to get to the top 35 for next year.Wonder if this scenary makes Smoke rethink buying into this team if neither car is a top 35 going into next year??
As far as the little tiff on pit road....I hell hate the BS reason "detramental to the sport" when they hand down these probations and fines.Damn that stuff is entertaining and adds to the interest level as the racing and cost to go see one IMO are getting worse. It should be "this is some good shit" and actually gives teams points and pay them coin!I know,The WWE references will come, but again this is my opinion....
Ya'll have a nice day.........

I'm glad that NASCAR is again ramping up the penalty for screwing with the CoT. Obviously 100 points wasn't enough of a deterrent, so they made it 150 points. As long as the next team that has a CoT violation is penalized 150 points or more I'm perfectly okay with this decision. Reverting back to a 100 point penalty for the next guy would be inconsisent, steadily ramping up a penalty as time progresses when it looks like the current penalty isn't enough of a deterrent is not inconsistent, in my opinion.
