Darnell wins in a photo finish - Busch wrecks Hornaday
Erik Darnell edged out Johnny Benson in a photo finish, literally. NASCAR actually had to look at photos of the finish to call the winner, it was that close. Congrats to Darnell.
The other big story of the race had to do with the finish also, but a different kind of finish and involved, surprise, surprise, Kyle Busch. On the last lap, Busch was trying to get by Hornaday, who was in 7th and spun him, leaving Hornaday finishing 23rd, instead of 7th and dropping him from 1st to 3rd in the point standings. Obviously, Hornaday wasn't thrilled and both him and Harvick went to have words with Busch after the race.
After everything calmed down, they were able to interview Hornaday and he had some pretty strong words to say about Busch...
He just drove into me because he got mad because I took us four wide and passed him cleanly. Halfway through the race, he showed me he was upset because he lifted the back of the truck up. If he is going to race that way, that is pretty chicken. He doesn't deserve to be a racer.
He has a lot of talent, but that is just flat stupid. I don't knock any other driver, but I will tell you what, that kid has just about done wore me out. I don't know if I have to give up this championship to teach him a lesson. I hope I don't hurt him because, if Joe Gibbs lets him do this, I am ashamed for them.
He was definitely upset about the incident and you really can't blame him since it not only dropped where he finished, but made him lose the points lead. They weren't able to interview Busch after the race because he left right away to get to Kentucky for the Nationwide race, but they were able to talk to him before he got in the car and he just had a short statement and nothing more...
I just got into him. Sorry about that. But remarks from Harvick and Hornaday are what they're going to be, they're big mouths anyway and so we'll take it and get on with it and hopefully beat them out for this championship.
I'm not exactly sure which championship he was talking about, but I highly doubt it was the Truck series one. But he's one to talk about "big mouths", if I remember right, that's one of the reasons Hendrick got rid of him to get Jr. Now, I have no problem about a driver speaking his mind and everything, which I admit Harvick does and I think more drivers should do it, but you don't go around calling someone a "big mouth" for something you yourself do too. I'm sure Busch would have had a completely different view of the situation if the tables were turned.
Your thoughts?

this is darnells 2nd victory, his first of this year with a lot of heartfalls. i like how the news article is all about hornaday and busch, i mean what is up with that? darnell hasn't won for over a year and none the less the 2nd closest finish in the NCTS. i just figured you would have more of an article about darnell or at least the same size. but anyway GO DARNELL !!!

I can remember when kyle was wrecked by Hornaday what a week or two ago but that was ok he maintained his point lead that day well Kyle Busch has just as much right to race hard and have accidents as Hornaday or Harvick or anybody else its racing wrecks happen get over it.

Congrats to Joey Logano and the whole team
on their Nationwide win. A big win for this
young driver and his family was so excited
and happy for him.
The race is getting ready to start here in
Michigan and I hope they can get it in. It
is raining where I live now but I am about
an hour and a half drive from the track so
hope the rain doesn't hit there.

Since my favorite driver is Smoke and since he's done some pretty dumb things in the past, I'm going to take the high-road on the Hornaday/KyB deal. I've taken way too much grief in the past for being a Stewart fan.
What a truck race. Photo finish for the win and 3 truck fight for 3rd place. Seems as if the trucks always put on the best show.
Darn, I wanted Johnny Benson to win that race. But at least he moved into first in points. Great job Johnny.
My crystal ball has moved the #20 to the top of the list for today. After practice he said his car is really good. Haven't heard that for awhile. Go Smoke.

I think we are at a stalemate, you will continue to mention Jr. everytime I mention something Kyle Busch did.
By the way, I was corrected regarding the fact that Kyle finished second in the truck race last weekend, so he had 2 of 3 bad races.
Posted by: Jon | Jun 15, 2008 1:40:48 AM
No Jon, the issue with bringing him up is the same as you always tend to do. he had a horrific weekend last weekend. he was exhausted or something, I dont need to pull the post do I?
Point is, his horrible weekend was a second in CTS and shit in Busch race and yes worse. but for some reason whether its posted on Kyle you feel the need to talk about how much of a "Bayby Busch" all the time.
As I stated prior, least he " actually FEELS like driving the whole race" even when he gets pissed off and gives 100%. Unlike those whom get pissed from a wreck or there crew.
I forgot both Busch boys are abusive drivers, and never take blame. please post where I stated at all Ron was at fault for today? I brought is up as you circle the wagon on him anytime you feel for anything period.
Yep you know the deal with me and the other good friend and YEP i stated the same thing. There beef (Kyle and my friend) is just that THERE BEEF. I told both parties involved my opinion and WOW it didnt favor Kyle at all.
But once again , as in the triple thing , anytime he farts, he is "wreckless, abusive, acting like a baby, and is a safety issue to the sport"
Gimme a break, "My friend" has the same hot headed mentality 99.9% of the time. There beef is theres..
Just gets a tad old to read if "Kyle farts", he gets slammed for being too aggressive etc etc.
I mean lay off, as stated least he "feels like driving"

Kurt2,
I couldn't tell by your post but do you beleive like Fan#5 seems to believe that it was Hornaday's fault he got wrecked by Busch?
I guess Ron should have read the warning on the mirror * Objects in mirror are closere than they appear*
Congrat to Joey and the entire JGR/Gamestop crew Fantastic!

What the hell does Jr. have to do with Kyle Busch wrecking Hornaday in the truck race? I never once said Jr can do no wrong and besides he doesn't go blaming other drivers when he causes a wreck, he admits it and takes responsibility.
You claim not to bash Jr. and yet you keep bringing him up like sonehow he had something to do with Kyle wrecking Hornaday.
I knew you would be sticking up for Kyle Busch even if he wrecked the truck owned by another good friend of yours.
So you are going to say that it was just another racing deal that he turned into Hornaday and spun him out.
What the hell, lets just let Busch wreck everyone out so he wins every single race and we can call sit around a praise him for a great race he ran.
Posted by: Jon | Jun 15, 2008 1:07:32 AM
F5,
I agree 100% , its going to be a bash Kyle day and weekend..
I have to say ROCKET was there and in the points lead. I am happy for him and his guys, they deserve it. First word out of of Darnells mouth" was thank JB for racing me clean", he always does, kinda like Mark Martin and Jeff Burton.
Now , I have been patient and still will.
JON , the only freaking guy in the garage whom cant do wrong in your clouded thought is THE 88 CAR. He speaks well, nevers trashes a soul, last year was all TERESA's fault, this year, its he is tired and what the hell ever.
YOU know I like Jr, but I be damned if you can say a kind word on anyone without the last name of Earnhardt.
No this isnt me bashing JR post nor you, but maybe reflect to your post. You could care less if its at DEI or HMS.. Its JR NATION>.Throw some more beer cans cause it aint (J2) winning.
I am prepared to defend this post all day, but guess what ? His shit stinks like mine and yours.
Open field on K2 for speaking of JR in this fashion.. Trying to prove a point.
Sorry Kevin H a great damn guy, Ron H( leave it alone at times), and Kyle or Kurt. It "appears" if that is your last name your screwed. Just the way it always shows ..
Not a direct attack anywhere, so please note that.

I forgot Kyle Busch can do no wrong and anything he causes is certainly the other drivers fault.
Posted by: Jon | Jun 14, 2008 11:44:54 PM
Fan#5,
Come on, he didn't have a run on Hornaday, he turned into Hornaday and spun him out plain as day.
So you are going to blame the wreck on Hornaday for getting wrecked by Busch?
Posted by: Jon | Jun 14, 2008 11:36:54 PM
I felt bad for JB...Missed it by that much...I see this'll turn into a "Busch Bashin" form my perspective...It looked liked Kyle had a run on Hornaday...I guess Ron should have read the warning on the mirror * Objects in mirror are closere than they appear*
Congrat to Joey and the entire JGR/Gamestop crew Fantastic!
Posted by: Fan #5 | Jun 14, 2008 11:08:52 PM
Kyle Busch is showing his ass as usual and hopefully Hornaday follows through and teaches Baby Busch a lesson. I told you the boy has no respect for any driver on the track that is in front of him.
Congrats to Darnell and #99 truck and too bad for Benson.
