Silly Season is in full swing
Tony Stewart started off Silly Season with his announcement in joining Haas to form Stewart-Haas Racing, then the announcement of Ryan Newman as his teammate. That's what started it all and it looks like we'll have lots of new looks for drivers for next season.
Mark Martin over to the #5 at HMS, replacing Casey Mears, who's going to the #07 at RCR, while Bowyer moves to the #33.
Reed Sorenson goes to the #10 over at GEM, leaving the #41 ride open, rumors for the #41 include Allmendinger and if you can believe it, Mayfield.
David Stremme to the #12 left vacant by Ryan Newman.
Allmendinger is out of his ride as of now, Skinner and Speed will be filling in for the rest of the season. Rumor is that Speed could be in that ride next season.
And the latest is Menard leaving DEI for Yates, replacing one of their drivers next season, although nothing has been said as far as which one, Gilliland or Kvapil. That will leaving an opening over at DEI, so they'll be looking for a replacement. Rumors seem to be going around on that one, buzzing about Rusty Wallace possibly coming out of retirement to go to DEI?
I know with all the changes, I'll be sure to get confused a few times next season as far as who is who. I don't know about you, but it seems like there has been a lot more movement of drivers this time around.

All the guys who plan on riding around at the back of the pack for most of the race tomorrow will be the smart ones. I picked the #88 to win so I'm glad he got the bad stuff over already. It's a crap shoot anyway. Congrats to TK on a great QF run.
Nice finish for Chrissy yesterday. Nice one for her dad today, too.

Well looks like OJ finally got his comeuppance. Certain the Brown as well as the Goldman family would've preferred a different outcome at their loved one's trial.
Looks like OJ could get life for this act in LV. In any event, probably'll at least serve ten years.

Jeff could be fading, plenty of distractions, wealth, family, and has already placed himself in the record books as one of the greatest CUP drivers in it's history. Of course, this year might be an aberration and he could rebound big time next year. Only time will tell.
'dega will be fun to watch. Jeff might stay around in the back, lettting JJ with RG as his wingman clearing out the field, until the last few laps then soldier to the front and win like he did last year.

DJ - Mike and Kenny know how to run the plate races. If they don't have to make many changes they both should do well tomorrow.
Mike Wallace just finished 5th in the truck race. Unfortunately Benson lost the points lead with an 11th place finish. Nice job by "The Onion".
Aggie - The 70 & 78 are the only ones you mentioned who are not in the top 35. The 8, 1, 15, 66 & 42 just have really fast cars.

F5 - Old Harry and Tim Richmond are the reason I'm a race fan today. Tim's aggressive driving and Harry giving him a great car and trying to keep him under control caught my interest and I've been a fan every since. That was over 20 years ago. Thank You Harry and Tim.

This afternoon Tony Stewart gave me another reason to love him. Helping Stenhouse who is fighting Scott Speed for the ARCA championship is the kind of thing Tony does all the time. He got under that wrecked car and tried to help get it back on the track. He even fabricated a piece that he thought might help. Stenhouse used to drive for Tony in USAC. And Tony is always trying to help out drivers in the lower series.

aggie - The ARCA guys are using Hoosier tires. So Newton probably isn't very happy.
K2 - Is there a GY tire problem or just Hoosier? Sure have been some nasty crashes today.
aggie - You can't rely on things you read on the driver fan club blogs. So I need information from a better source before I believe what was written about Casey's girlfriend.

I doubt his time at RCR will be lengthy.
And the time that he will be there will probably be frosty.
Casey will have to win over a lot of people at RCR considering how he finagled his way onto their team. If he had a nice girlfriend who everyone liked, like Krissie Newman, that would go a long way to help smooth things over. Unfortunately, Casey is stuck with Trisha Grablander.
Trisha has nothing in common with women like Delana Harvick and Kim Burton. She is exactly the kind of girl that NASCAR wives want their husbands to stay away from. I'm sure Delana and Kim will be polite in public, but just like the rest of RCR, they'll have to grin and bear it for the sake of the team.
Yeah, she's got that 'I'm gonna be rich' glow about her.
She better be checking the want ads for a job, cause I doubt his time at RCR will be lengthy.

Michael - My problem with your comparisons is that they don't compare at all. Rick Hendrick is a criminal. He broke several laws. So comparing him to these drivers' personal problems is ridiculous. I know Rick isn't all bad. He has done good things like the bone marrow charity. But he is still a convicted criminal.
