Congrats Bowyer, Nationwide Champ
Good race, Edwards won the race, but Bowyer kept himself where he needed and won the championship. Congrats Bowyer and and the whole RCR team!
Landon Cassill won the Rookie of the Year honors, ironically, he wasn't even in the race. JGR won the Owners Championship with the #20...congrats to them for an awesome year also!

Glad Tony made it to the top 10 and gets to speak on the stage in NY. Though he probably would rather not. :)
KyB beat Kenseth by 2 points to finish 10th in points. He deserves to be there on that stage too !!!!
Sorry for the Jr. fans. :(

I am sitting here watching my cat chase the cars on the TV, its better than watching my driver fall futher & further behind. She is quite funny, she thinks she can grab them. If were lucky she can smack the #48.

On KK.....it's just disheartening as a race fan to see good drivers-----Jeff Gordon, Kasey Khane, Kurt Busch, Ryan Newman, Robby Gordon, floundering around. I hope all of them find some light at the end of the present tunnel they're walking through, cause DAMN.
I thought of something just a second ago----reason's why people feel the way they do about "some drivers"
Remember Darlington several years ago? Craven and Busch? That finish was SWEET.... Kurt walked over and gave Craven a huge hug after that race. THATSRACIN'.
Closest we got to it last year was Jeff G and pickle smoocher at Martinsville. Remember vanilla spice's after race interview and during race radio chatter? WHINE
And Charlotte This year with Jeff Burton?
Makes me go hmmmmmmmm

It's easy to become nauseated when they cram JJ down your throat every chance they get.
Posted by: Graceann | Nov 16, 2008 5:38:08 PM
GO TONY GO!!!!!!
It must suck blue balls to come to the realization that you have won 3 STRAIGHT titles and you are the 6th most popular driver in the damn sport.......3rd in your own damn organization....................LMFAO!
GO TONY GO!!!!!!!
I too became nauseated during pre-race........

So KK is still going to Toyota?
Posted by: Graceann | Nov 16, 2008 5:32:46 PM
Don't fret KK fans next season KK will have that awsome TRD behind them...providing The France Family Mafia quit manipulating the Horsepower, so the Ass in the Hat quits whining

GO SMOKE, YOU'RE IN #5 SPOT ALREADY. LET'S
GO OUT BIG FOR JGR.

it would be interesting to see who's balls were most accurate throughout the season.

I'm with Canucken. They need to come up with a new points system that emphasizes wins more than the current system does that also rewards consistency in some way. There are plenty of smart folks out there who can figure out how to do that.

Ok so the empty banner place was sad I'll jump with you guys and abandon the #9 for the #20. What the hell the #9 will finish in his usual 20-30 spot any ways so GO TONY!!
Posted by: Graceann | Nov 16, 2008 3:27:02 PM
I'm ready to puke already. The ABC pre-race show has been on for 20 minutes and they've talked about JJ for almost 15 of them. Sounds like they've crowned him Saint Jimmie. Yuk.
Posted by: Diane | Nov 16, 2008 3:22:32 PM
Well what the heck. I might as well jump on the #20 bandwagon with you guys.
GO SMOKE!!!
Agreed on Johnny B, Diane. He worked his butt off for the championship and it's nice to see him enjoy it like he is.

K2 - How did you ever guess that me and Gretch are pulling for Smoke? :))))
Either one of your signature wishes would make me happy. LOL.
It's been nice to see Benson interviewed several times since Fridayn night. He was just on Race Day. He's so full of joy it's contagious. Great guy.

I'd say congrats to CB but I don't really like him....so congrats to RCR.
I hear you 68.Thing is with the way the econonmy is,we might have but 20 teams if it was straight BGN drivers.Sucks, but we got what we got...........
Canuck...I agree somewhat.I didn't like the Chase. But there were so many blow outs without it.The 24 got screwed as did the 18 the last few years based on the old way.Oh well.....I for one like someone that wins more than just settles for top 10's.JMO.Consistancy is rewarded though.
Up on the wheel ya'll!

You both are funny as hell:)
I assume you and Gretchen are pulling for Smoke?.LMAO

The sad thing about the whole deal is we are talking about three Cup drivers mucking up a lower tier series rather than talking about a up and coming future star.

??????Wins versus consistency?????
Posted by: Graceann | Nov 16, 2008 12:04:31 PM
So here's a good example for those who don't like the Chase and think wins should carry more weight. Bowyer wins one race all season and Edwards wins 7 and Busch won 10 yet neither of them win the championship. Not knocking Bowyer at all, I'm a fan of his and he is a deserving champion. However this illustrates the problems with the points system in either series. I think wins should carry more weight, but how much more? I don't know it's frustrating, one win as opposed to guys that had 7 and 10, not sure what to do.
