Johnny Benson wins the championship
Johnny Benson finished one spot ahead of Ron Hornaday and won the championship. It was a good race, for the most part pretty clean, hard racing among the leaders too.
I was rooting for Hornaday, mainly because of his owner, but congrats to Benson for winning the title, like him or not he deserved it. Benson and Hornaday put on a good show this season for the fans, something we can't say about the Cup Series. Way to go guys!

Arrrggghhhh, Deb. Bite your tongue on pedicure boy. With the kind of luck he's been having this year the #7 would get probably caught up in it.

DJ,
We just might get some drama with the pedicure boy up front. Could take out some major players, you know what I mean.
That would be some funny shit.
I was sooooooo happy to see Benson with that tear in his eye. That was some good stuff last night and I am so happy for Benson and his team.
Rach,
Our Dawgs could have lost their ass today. Why did they not show up to play football???????? Freakin Tebow is down their whoopin everybodys butt, and my Dawgs were out gettin a beer.

sorry dont mean to offend anyone
thought that newfan meant he didnt like stereotypes like stewart harvick etc...that they arent high class enough for him to watch...but benson is
happy benson won...hes a favorite of mine

Gotts love it when it some always attempt to bring some "spin" into things
"Johnny seems to undo all the stereotypes that kept me away from any racing for years!!
Posted by: newfan
does that mean the stereotypes dont meet your standards
Posted by: Phyllis"
Maybe it soley meant(as I took it) it was NEWFAN'S first year watching racing. IMO Rocket could be a banker, lawyer or attorney. He doesnt look like a Smoke, Harvick, Gordon etc.
But he is a damn good racer with a heart. Hence him winning the CTS..is something to celebrate.. I see thats the only "postive point you made Phyliss, I am sure Rocket and the 23 eagerly await you to congratulate them on a hell of a year

I'm so happy for Johnny. He seems like such a great guy and good family man...nice wife and 2 cute young daughters. He's a deserving Champion.
The Speed cameras got a good shot of him sitting in his car with the tears running down his cheeks. Priceless.
Wish they would put him back on a TV show. He was great when he was on Inside Nascar on Speed with Mikey and Schrader.
Bet they had a gigantic celebration last night.

I guess so Phyllis - What I have found is they this year is they are not true I would have never expected to have found people like Johnny and others that I found since following racing - Not meant mean Just stating you can't always Judge a book by it's cover or by the review written by someone else :-)

Way to go Johnny! Does he now join Biffle as the only driver to win the championship in both Truck and Nationwide/Busch?
As far as pulling for the owner Kathy, I think I'll go with the Davis's on this one, they could use it a little more than Harvick. Who knows, it might be their last race, which would be very, very sad.

Congrats to the #23 team on the Championship!!!
I would have rather seen Hornaday and KHI win it, but that wasn't meant to be.
Posted by: Jon | Nov 15, 2008 9:30:15 AM
Congrats to Johnny B and the #23 team! I bet they'll celebrate all night and they should. They really earned that big trophy.
That's what I call racing....a nailbiter right to the checkers. That was one helluva a race and championship battle.

NOW THAT IS RACIN!!!! I agree Kathy great racing for the trucks this year. Had it not been for the Truck season I would still be sitting around saying Racing? I don't see what the big deal is - Out of it all this year I enjoyed Trucks the most! And it was a movie script ending tonight - Johnny seems to undo all the stereotypes that kept me away from any racing for years!! - I am so happy for Johnny, his team and his family! Hope they all have a great celebration and a well deserved Beach vacation for the fairytale ending!!!! GO JOHNNY GO !!!!

I agree F5. Congratulations to Johnny and the whole team. What a race. The trucks are the best damn racing, period.
Kathy - The Harvicks, Hornaday and their entire team have to be disappointed. But they had a great season and they'll be right back fighting for the championship in 2009.
