Tire testing all of a sudden becomes real important
Most of the time we don't hear too many complaints about who is invited to do the tire testing by Goodyear, except maybe a grumble here and there from Roush when he and Ford was left out of testing, now the tire tests have become more important.
It's not that testing the tires has become more important in itself, it's the fact that the teams invited to the tire testing, one from each manufacturer, get a leg up on everyone else because of NASCAR's new no-testing policy.
For the Las Vegas tire test that Goodyear set up, they invited, Mark Martin, David Stremme, Carl Edwards and Brian Vickers, these drivers have the possibility to have a leg up on their competition come race day because of information they get from this two day testing session.
No other announcement as far as other tire testing has been made, but I'll certainly be interested to see who gets invited to those, will they be fair and spread it around or will they keep picking the same drivers/teams over and over again? Only time will tell, but I'm sure they'll be complaints.
Your thoughts?

Jon,
Read where at either the Toyota or Honda mfg plants in the USA depending on consumer demand can switch from making cars to small suvs all by changing the hands on their mfg robots which can take as little as ten minutes. At their competitors it might take 2-4 weeks to accomplish that change.

Hey! Where did all the posts go?

Dottie,
I know and I am really concerned for the families that might be affected, but unfortunately, the sad truth is even with the bridge loan, 10's of thousands people are going to lose their jobs in the re-organizing that will need to be done.
GM, Ford and Chrysler need to discover the concept of Lean Manufacturing and quickly, it is what Toyota used to save billions of dollars in expenses. The company I work for is in the middle of a long term Lean Manufacturing program and it has worked for us.

RICH!!! aggie far from it!...and if I ever was the Ex got half of it...learned to skate at 3, ski at 5, play gutair at 13 to get the chicks, We used t play smear the queer on sleds...Had 6 or 7 Snowmobiles in my life...gave those up after screaming across the lake at 90 with my son on the back and watching the Ice scream by thinking "I could get hurt really bad" doing this! I have a pair of Hart, Rossignol and K2's we used to have season's pass to Buck Hill and Welch! We ALMOST attempted to ski thru a Chalet at Afton...ala 007...but figured we'd carry too much speed and look more like the Wiley Cayote!
J2, Indiana has "Snirt"...blowing snow mixed with dirt...in Minnesota you expect snow anytime after Labor Day

Jon, I'm not trying to be obnoxious about
the government loan for the Big 3 but I am
concerned about millions of families with
little children losing their jobs. We're
already in a deep recession and as President
Busch said, we don't need to go into a
depression so he is stepping in to give the
Big 3 a loan. The government didn't state
how much the loan will be or if there will
be more stipulations added. Let's just hope
everything works out and the economy starts
to pick up sooner than later.

Aggie,
My Sooners are awesome and it was great to see Sam Bradford rewarded for his outstanding play. I can't wait until January 8th in the BCS Championship game, it will be a great game and I am hoping for a replay of the 2000 Championship game in which no one gave the Sooners a chance in hell to beat Florida State.

Dottie,
That is fine if you don't mind paying more taxes, but I for one don't like it. Paying more taxes to fix bad decisions isn't fixing the problem, but that has been governments solution for fixing problems and it almost never works as they planned.

I live in the heart of PA ski country, agg. With some fairly decent hills 20 to 45 minutes away the kids and I used to go all the time back in the day. Now that I can't get out of my own way just trying to walk I had to give it up. It sure made winter more bearable. lol

i caught alil of teh ford kid on larrry king live, kid sounded ok and sincere about this whole deal and spoke highly of the uaw
i did find it funny and i guess it's typical detroit auto exc mentality ( guys flying in on jets asking for a handout mentality arrogance) when larry asked him what he drove he hesistated and even kind of stumbled and then get this, he says some of fords latest products and the THE COMPETTITORS CARS which he mentioned was to see how the competition cars stack up, BUT then 2-3 minutes later he says he just concentrates on fords own issues and tries not to focus on the other car co
when he said the compettitors cars iam sure millions must have said hey the guy probably has a 500sl benz or some jag which is ford's hidden away up in the upper MI for a weekend driver lol
i was a lil ????? when a guy cant answere or recall what car he drove that day?? home or to the studio and this guy is a top dog at ford????
its shi and answeres like this that makes me wonder who is running these companys

Diane, I agree with your post. Well it seem Sachs is following AIG lead and paying bonuses with tax payers money. Imagine that, another homeowner goes down the tube, some big time suit gets a bonus. Don't you just love our Country.

Dottie - We might as well take all the KPS guys with us. EXCEPT FOR YOU KNOW WHO. LOL.

What makes you think they can't figure it
out? I don't mind paying taxes if it saves
millions of jobs.

DJ, you're welcome to take all the snow you
want. It's still coming down but with the
Christmas lights it's beautiful every where.
Your little boy sounds like he's having a
ball with the Christmas tree. Yeah DJ if you
like to party and have a good time you can
come on board with all the girls. I think,
Barb, Diane and Graceann would approve. lol
How about that girls, you want to let DJ
join us?

Fan5,
Johnny Sauter, that's pretty cool. My friends called and it was 0 degrees and Eddie was out shoveling snow and trying to do something with the cows in the barn to keep there asses warm. No the hot tub didn't freeze, cause they were in the hot tub in the snow falling in 0 degrees. Don't you miss those days?????????????
Posted by: Deb | Dec 16, 2008 11:32:33 PM
Yes ladies, I'd gladly join you. The snow plow just went up the street and it's about 20 degrees outside. Ugh.
Posted by: Barb G | Dec 16, 2008 11:32:01 PM
Dottie,
The Big3 have been losing money for years and didn't figure out how to fix it, so what makes you think they are all of a sudden going to figure it out just because taxpayers bail them out. They will end up in bankruptcy sooner or later, you can take that to the bank.
Posted by: Jon | Dec 16, 2008 11:23:30 PM
Ahh! Heck with it all!! Let's just party, tan and forget it all. Aggie, get the car started.

Some Beach! Some where, there's big Ol umbrella casting a shadow on an empty chair...
Deb, Farabault is just down the road from Elko Speedway, one of my former stomping grounds...and where I first encountered a chucklehead Johnny Sauter!

Good idea. We can get Barb G to join us.
Sounds good to me Diane. With the snow
coming down heavy and the Christmas lights
burning it's really pretty outside but
that's all I can say about it. I just
started the fireplace, got my fur throw and
heading to the couch to keep warm.
Posted by: Dottie | Dec 16, 2008 9:28:24 PM
Dottie - Good idea. We can also get Barb G to join us. I'm sure she's not liking the weather in PA either. We can stay at Bob Marley's resort and listen to some Reggae music, mahn. :)
Posted by: Diane | Dec 16, 2008 8:57:33 PM
Graceann - It's even colder up here. Let's
you and me hop a plane and head to DJ's
local joint for some fun. Anyone else want
to come. (by Diane)
Yeah Diane count me in but let's hop a plane
to the Bahamas. It's cold and snowing like
crazy here in Michigan and we're supposed to
get up to 5 inches by morning. The roads are
terrible here right now.
Posted by: Dottie | Dec 16, 2008 8:41:42 PM
Agg, Fan5,
I have a real good friend who lives in Faribault Mn and he gives me shit all the time about our southern weather. He left me a message and said he finally had to put on a coat and I left him a message and said we are still in our shorts and t-shirts here in Ga and I hope he freakin freezes to his soy beans and cows and his hot tub freezes. If it would clear up me and Uno could lay in the sun tomorrow.

What makes you think the government loan
won't work for the Big 3? There is no
gurantee in life on anything but if it can
help them get back to being competitive, I
am all for it. The basic problem has been
the collapse of the economy. The Detroit
auto producers and the UAW workers know what
they have to do to become competitive and
they are prepared to do it. When the Govt.
bailed out the financial companies and they
received billions more than the auto co's.
were asking for hardly anyone complained.
When the Big 3 asked for a loan it's a
different story, it's let them go under and
put millions of people out of work. You have
a right to your opinion but I have a right
to disagree.

I also see where that lucky sack the 77 may get into the top 35 based on what the 22 does.Or they may switch the 2's points. As crapy as that team ran last year,I'm sure Kurt might not approve. The 47 gets in as well. That is cool.i like that dude....
