Dega starts off with a bang
Everyone expects wrecks to happen at Dega, but who would have thought they would have a 9 car wreck on lap 7? The day really went down hill from there for me since my favorite was involved, along with some other drivers I like. Still, there were still others I could root for.
Nice saves by Kurt Busch and Michael Waltrip when it looked like they were headed for the wall, granted they were separate incidents, but both did some nice driving to stay off the wall.
The yellow line rule seems to be getting a little blurry with NASCAR's calls lately, more than one below the yellow and some get "to the back of the field" and others get a warning and some get nothing? Way to be consistent.
From the replays, it looks like Hamlin started the big one with contact with Montoya, taking out a whole bunch of cars. That's just my take on it, your view may have been different.
One mess of an end, glad Edwards is ok.
Congrats to Keslowski for the win.
Your thoughts?

Gretchen,
Hey girl, JMO but I don't think any of these
people in sports along with the CEO's are
worth the money they are paid.
I'm not knocking Stafford. Yeah he deserves
a chance and I'm hoping he does great.
CAN THE LIONS GET ANY WORSE? I don't think
so Gretchen. LMAO

for paying that kind of money for that kid"
Don't knock him yet. He's a good one. And hell-- CAN THE LIONS GET ANY WORSE?
LOL. Seriously, Stafford is good. Y'all Lions fans give him a chance BEFORE you start bashing him.
I am a proud owner of the College Jersey of the #1 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. Give the boy a chance- UGA's Stafford to Ga Tech's Johnson--all day. IF the OL can keep him off his knees and back.
Speaking of a man on his knees and back all the time.... I forgot that #48 will prolly be in the mix tonight as well.

My god,
While I know Jon you detest the 18 driver and his brother can you and most accept he was in the car and drove it to the win?
Geez, last week he was a ass for blocking, now his crew one it for him. Yes that was a hell of a stop.
But unlike other drivers, he doesnt threaten his Crew and CC with taking a "hammer " to them. He gets pissed, but drives his ass off unlike "said" drivers whom bitch BUT DONT WIN>
Damn, he has won more than the FAV, but I will be damned if he can get any damn credit
Smoke might win tonight
Posted by: Dani2 | May 2, 2009 1:07:09 PM
Jon,
I didn't see the pit crew driving the Kyle Busch car last night. So how did they win the race? They can't win without him and he can't win without them. It's a team effort.
Sorry, I'm cranky today. I need a #14 win!!!
Posted by: Dawn | May 2, 2009 12:49:43 PM
Congrats to the #18 pit crew, they deserve all of the credit for lasts win. But as usual everyone is falling over Baby Busch.

Thanks for your interest Nitro and you to DJ in such a unique car like the Saab.
Quirky car. Never take it to a dealer. Got a mechanic who specializes only on Saabs and knows all about the electrical and overheating issues, and a lot of other things as well. He hates GM for ruining them. Other day, asked him about GM dumping Saab, never heard such cussing in my life about how they ruined Saab.
DJ, you're a good husband to agree to attend one of your wife's purse parties. You truly are unique.

Jon2: It's so easy to be a foul mouthed tough guy when you hide behind the annonimity of a computer screen, but you blew your cover when you said you drove a Saab. A Saab, really!!! Only geeks and little girls drive those nondiscript sleds. Bet you got a cute little patten leather man purse too. Have a nice day sweetie!!

I am a BAR varian......
Alright you automaker car peeps!Looking to buy a car or truck.Got a shit load of neg equity in the car I want to get out of.Like 7 g of neg equity.Better to try and get a new 08 or 09?More incentives, rebates ect in the 09,right to offset the neg equity.Trying to keep payment within budget and not finance 6 years, but would probly have to.What the frank is the best way to get the best deal.I have yapped at several dealers and I thought business was bad and this was the best time to get a car.Based on the lack of effort it seems things still are not that easy to get what you want a a good deal.I hell hate dealing with them....any suggestions on what I need to ask or whatever appreciated.....
Agg,unreal series with the Bulls/Celtics.Home team game 7 wins....
Hockey....I reckon I like the 7 game series.Ovechekin is a freak.Go Canes.....

Odd for my little ears to hear such an upscale fan such as jon2 spewing such hate filled drivel as to call the Germans....NAZIS.
This coming from a person that called me anti-semitic, AS WELL AS homophobic. Over a gay jewish yacht, and a glass of mexican jews. LMFAO!!
What a gas....fucktard.
Hitler's SS BALLS are showing me.....#88, #18, and #24--- who will likely win as the previous 2 will wreck one another on the last lap.

"...I'd be willing to bet that Barvarians (sic) don't take kindly to being called Nazi's."
F#5
I'm certain they don't. So ask me if I care.
Graceann,
Harsh reality. GM and Chrysler can't compete. Just admit, their products are not sought after by enough people in order to keep them viable companies. Ford seems to be on better footing. I've worked for loser (my reference is to the companies, lighten up) companies and suffered the consequences of bad decisions made by both employer and in my case, the employee. GM failed as a result of bad mgmt decisions with respect to products as well as confiscatory wage demands and onerous work rules placed on them by the UAW. And that's a formula for failure.
Aggster,
..and I bet Graceann could do it.
Posted by: Jon2 | May 1, 2009 7:57:13 AM
Hey Aggie, Did you happen to be in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge last week-end?
Posted by: Graceann | May 1, 2009 12:47:36 AM
You should be slapped shitless!
lol good one must be so expression lol
bitch slapped shitless!
yeah first 100 days much happening for ole obama
Posted by: aggie | May 1, 2009 12:32:06 AM
J2, You should be slapped shitless! Tell me are you related to our dear Senators Shelby, Corker or McConnell? You sure as hell sound like just them. Are you tickled pink to watch the fall of these companies? I bet your sick to your stomach that Ford isn't falling with them right now. Those "losers" you are talking about are honest hard working AMERICAN men & women that are trying to raise their children. What gives you the right to judge these people just because of their employment? Is it their fault that they chose to work in a factory where the heat in the summer or cold in winter is more comfortable outside, or to be ridiculed by the media, the public, by people that know nothing about you other than where you work & that is the problem. To be called uneducated, lazy, loser, overpaid. Most of these men & women don't deserve this treatment & they certainly don't deserve it from some one who has never done their work. So J2, come on up to KY (land of warming) work 1 day in my husbands spot on the line at KY TRUCK PLANT (FORD) & if you last the full shift, then you can spew your poison. You have no right to call my husband a loser.

numbers.

Aggster,
Listened little bit to Obama's talk about "saving" the auto industry. The US taxpayer is subsidizing the UAW who came out in droves to vote for that cat and are reaping payback for their support.
He certainly wasn't talking about the Nazis, Koreans, and Japanese auto makers with USA plants who produce stuff that consumers want. Recently rode in a bmw 5series, awesome vehicle. Those Nazis produce awesome stuff. Wouldn't buy anything produced by them, you know why, but still gotta admire their technology and engineering expertise.
Interesting recently how in our country those who are losers are rewarded for failing while those who succeed are vilified for their success. Only in America.
He's "saving" the losers who couldn't compete in the industry, who'll fail anyway. Since 2005 GM has lost something close to 50 billion dollars. Companies shouldn't be rewarded for failing.
Been a Saab owner for years. When GM bought it in '94 went to crap.
Read recently about when the Saturn was introduced late 80s I think, Honda was worried about it what with all the press coverage and stuff, then they bought one, tore it down, and declared it's junk compared to the design and mfg expertise of their vehicles. They were right.
If the Nazis couldn't do much with Chrysler the Ities won't succeed as well. Calling Lee Iacocca.

While I didnt always, well rarely agree with Poole.
He was a good voice for NASCAR and Charlotte.. He did the "pennies for Wessa" recently and I did support him there..
Thoughts, prayers and all to his family at this time..
Kinda takes losing someone close to you to make you think about things as a "whole". Someone dear was lost and now it all means so much more as a whole
RIR race is for David and His family.. We talked about it today...
Posted by: Dani2 | Apr 30, 2009 6:31:42 PM
JD...same here.If you got pavement or dirt and can pass, then let 'em go for it.But that would be too "dangerous" for racing!Just not allow it in the turns....
Nothing wrong with a little JD on the side.I prefer CR.I am here peeps, but fixin' to head to the local esatblishment for a cold cerveza since the weather is lovely.Littleman and woman in tow....or is it toe?3 softball games tonite,so got do warmups(cold cervezas).Cooldowns afterwards.
Watch Jr get on a roll ya'll.Not a huge fan,but it would be nice to silence the naysayers, myself included.Be good for the sport, don't ya think?

I agree, keep the track the same. I would like to see them get rid of the going below the double yellow line rule. I will also join you on the beer, but I like a little JD on the side. Have a great day.

I be here. Where be you?
Chrysler bankrupt. All contracts cancelled. Billions of taxpayers money thrown out the window. Same will happen to GM. Fire the help, replace the cook, and let someone from the Sun Empire reorganize and run these companies.
Where you banging at there mister disk jockey?
Regards,
pEEps

Come on peeps!Where ya at?
Got everyone yapping about Dega.Leave it to Puffs to say to tear down the banking and reconfigure the track! Then it wouldn't be Dega now would it.Another boring track on the circuit.Got enough of those.A rare occurance happened and hello it is racing and they go fast sometimes and sometimes they wreck and very rarely does one get air.If you want to do something, get rid of the bottom rows seating and lengthen the catch fence and strengthen it.That's it.Thank goodness no one was hurt badly or killed. But there is danger when you strap in the car each time and danger when you sit near the bottom. No wonder that is where you are seeing these BIG discounts on tix.I know mine aren't any cheaper near the top at 2 tracks here in the South.I have seen 2 polls from fans on making or nor making changes at Dega and the majoriy are saying leave it alone.Better listen to the fans for once Nascar.Note to fans...don't sit near the bottom!
Controversy balls say for Richmond.....
5,24,00,6,88.....someone will get dumped and drama will unfold on pit road.Hopefully!
Beer........

Great post
Not much to add to that
The only chance they should make is make the penalty for forcing someone below the yellow line the same as passing below the yellow, or get rid of the yellow line.
