In Loving Memory of Diane
Words cannot express enough our sadness at the loss of Diane. She was a regular and popular poster on this blog and her comments will surely be missed.
While a lot of us never met her in person, we knew her through her words on this blog, her likes, dislikes, etc., we felt as though she were family, since that's what this blog has become, one big family.
She was never one to mince words, she'd tell it like it is or how she saw it, whether you agreed or not...that's what I remember most about her, other than her caring nature. If she loved something or really believed in it, she'd defend that something 100% now matter what was said to her, she never backed down from an argument and there have been many argumentss on this blog.
Diane and her words will surely be missed and I express my deep condolences to her family.
To show her family how much she meant to us, please post one of your favorite times with Diane on the blog, if you can pick one.
To Diane's family...you guys are in my thoughts and prayers during this tough time.

Congrats to Greg Biffle and the whole #16
team on their NationWide win tonight.
I missed most of the race and only got in on
the last fifty or so laps.
Well, H. Castroneves was acquitted of tax
evasion charges and he'll return to his #3
Indy Car in time for practice & qualifying
for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

"This thing needs to be returned to racing,
Di wouldn't have had it any other way. Jon2
Gretchen
I agree J2
I agree with both of you and I'm sure Diane
would also.
Since "Smoke" is my favorite, I picked him
to win and will be cheering for the #14.
Gretch, lets hope the 88 gets on the ball
soon.

I agree J2.
I am thinking the #14 wins, but I got "Daddy" in my ball also as #24 MAY just have his $hit together with his cc.
Prolly gonna come down to #14, #24, and #48 ( PUKE )
I WILL be cheering for #14.
Gonna catch shit for this one, but.... #88 needs to decide WTF he wants to do. 1) BE A CASH COW, or 2) STFU and DRIVE!!!!

Lady Hayes,
I would be very very very careful of your posts. It makes enjoyable reading as you are running yourself in the ground with the certain things coming up..
Glad you were able to show your ass and true colors out loud here.. You should be proud, hell I know you and know you are..
Posted by: Dani2 | Apr 17, 2009 6:08:37 PM
I certainly understand your sentiments but Marriage vows are sacred and this is something Dani2 does not honor - Think of how you would feel if you gave your life to someone and they stole your heart, your money, and harmed you and your children physically emotionally and financially - Kurt 2 is not who he represents himself to be and you are all at risk if you trust what he says - Just a warning!! - Sorry for all your loss and will have Diane in my prayers - Hope you will return the favor for my child and I and all the other women across the nation defrauded by Kurt2

Oh J2 Puhleeeeeeeeeese...Like Felon Motorsports doesn't dump Bookoo bucks into R&D, When will admit that Jr doesn't have the drive??? He is a Cash Cow
#14 Gear Gang...and for those of you who don't know this is BIG for me to pull for!
Sounds like some Ex wives have some left over issues and baggage...suprise suprise

That's no "lady". Ladies have elegance, class and manners which "hayes" clearly does not have.

This thing needs to be returned to racing, Di wouldn't have had it any other way.
Great minds think a like. As I've remarked over the past month or so, enter 4ever3 over at the Rant and Racing blog who had this to say about Junior and Cousin:
"Rick Hendrick will remove Tony Eury Jr from his Crew Chief position after Talledaga if Dale Jr doesn't at least finish in the top 5. If Dale Jr does have a good run at 'Dega but continues to falter after that and is not in the top 12 before June Eury will be gone for sure. Perhaps Eury will go to the 5 and Guftason will move over to the 88. I can't think of a better driver to help make a crew chief better at his craft than Mark Martin, but rest assured if Mark is in the top 12 Hendrick probably won't move Guftason away from the 5 team."
'course lotta speculating going on but imo it's trending that way.
Also, Gibbs engine oil concoctions are one of the reasons his engines are producing more horsepower. Great article recently in the WSJ about the 10million oil Gibbs has invested in to improve engine performance. Some excerpts,
"The most advanced piece of technology in a Nascar vehicle these days isn't its engine, its suspension or anything made of carbon fiber. It's the motor oil.
Joe Gibbs Racing, a team that owns three top-level Sprint Cup cars, has spent about $1 million a year over the past decade to perfect its motor oil. As a result, its engines have squeezed out an extra 10+ horsepower, a roughly 2% increase that can be a serious advantage in Nascar races, where the typical margin of victory is about one second."
Interesting. Any advantage over the compy goes right to the bottom line. No wonder KyleB found new spark.
Phoenix is gonna be fun. Media is saying it'll be between JeffG and JJ, and with him winning the last three races there, it'll be JJ.

We don't need your crap on here. Take your bullshit some where else. This is not place or the time for it. If you honestly think any one on here is gonna give you the time of day you are sadly mistaken. So pack your shit and leave!

Lady Hayes,
If you can't say anything nice then do what my momma always told me: Shut The Hell Up!
You have a most wonderful day.
Peter,
I'm so sorry about your friend. Really good friends are so special, cause of that bond you have.

Thanks to all. We all chipped in and bought a brick in his name for the new hall of fame. Pretty cool deal, we also were able to purchase a replica of the brick in a display case that we are giving to his wife.

Kurt/Dani2, your real good feeling about the 31 makes me feel good and also for the 14 of course.
It still seems like I should see a post from Diane. :( I'm sorry for your loss, Peter.
Jeff's Nascar Teleconference was good this week. They asked him if he could understand Marcos Ambrose. He said, "I grew up with Ward so I can pretty much understand anybody. Marcos and I actually talk about the same."

Kurt2/Dani2,
Still getting used to your new name. :)
Thanks for picking the #14 first. I know Mom is smiling about that. Think I know why you picked the 31 and 29.
Good luck to you in Pheonix. Stay safe.

My condolences on Diane's loss. We just lost one of the guys from our group. Went to Martinsville for the first race without him. And yes, heavy hearts for sure, but lots of talk and memories in his honor as I'm sure there will be for Diane.

Ahhh...The sun is out and it is bright and warm down here at the ROCK.Things gearing up for the race weekend around here with ARCA.James Hylton is going to give it a go here I just read.It ain't Cup but who gives a crap. The show they been putting on lately makes me glad we got the ARCA gang coming to town.Remember Scott Toe Nails Speed down-grading the ARCA series last year??Ha Ha MF'er,your ass is out of the top 35 and missed the last show. And AJ is laughing his ass off!
Nice posts from the gang and others for Lady Di.It's so obvious she was a great lady.
K2,hang in man....Getting back to the track might seem distant right now,but you know Di wants you to focus on the task at hand and you will be fine.
Gang,I'll have some pics to share from this weekend's debotchery at the ROCK!I want to take the littleman, but he still may be to young with the noise....
Yo Agg....I got my own thoughts on why no cure with all the loot going in for the cause. It is political and greedy,so you know I hate discussing that.....But something ain't quite right......Ya'll be safe.

Well I gotta head to AZ tommorrow afternoon.. So not looking forward to this weekend for obvious reasons..
Head is so not in the game at all..
This is what I think someone I knew would want picked..
14, 31,29, 18... there will be darkhorse I will post Sat..
I know many are scratching there heads at those picks, but she might be the only one to get the "order" of things with the picks:.She would want those first 3..
Hope you are over my shoulder lady, because between the tear falling I have half a smile

Hey Folks I know I haven’t been on KPS in a while but when I came here the other day and saw that Diane had passed, I was at a total loss. Being that I’m not really good at saying the "right" thing in these situations, I have been sitting around for the last day or so trying to formulate something to say. It finally came to me to just say what I felt.
I am so saddened by Diane’s passing. I really enjoyed here commentary and, on occasion, using the back channels for conversations. She will be missed. To all her family and friends, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Diane, if you're listening, I'll be pulling
for our #14 as usual. Should "Smoke" win,
it's for you.
I'm only picking the #14 to win this week.
Posted by: Dottie | Apr 14, 2009 5:18:25 PM
THAT is another- of many- things about DINE. As much as she loved TS- she would chew him down as well. She knew he ahd faults, and she wasn't obnoxious about him. When he was wrong, she posted it. When he sucked, she posted it.
Graceann, you reminded me of that about her when you posted that about KK. :(
Posted by: Gretchen | Apr 14, 2009 2:32:46 PM
Here's my pick for Lady Di, 14, 9, 14, 9, 14. You guys know she would want me be to true to my driver until he falls a lap down which will happen within 20-50 laps then I will be on #14 bandwagon.

dj
!Agg...where you at?
here dj, just hard one to take
i got the email from k2 and its hard to take to be honest let me gather some thoughts and i'll post something as she was a real fun lady and we shared lots of good laughs in emails like cheering on ms last week and all emails on on the big red machine
dj its one the ??? about the net you get know some one but you really never get to get to meet.......iam just curious which song of the many i sent her that she is listening to today ?
here is how small the world can be with the net........last month i sent her a link to a guy here who is a big red fans from 70's had some site/post up on the reds and diane couldnt belive how much the knew about her beloved reds
dj what drives me nuts about cancer is we can put a guy on the moon send a rocket to f--k knows here and mwe cant cure it??

In Dine's Honor...#14, #14, #14, #14 and #14
Posted by: Fan #5 | Apr 14, 2009 1:31:12 PM
The ball is showing me #14 , #24, or #18.
And the #48 in the wall. And #88 doing something REtarded- likely in his pitbox- to completely f**k himself out of a top 3 finish. And it shows #5 doing ok all day only to finish 12th and so damn grateful to RH for giving him a chance to drive that wonderful car with that wonderful group of guys, blah blah blah.....
RCR sans Mears finishes well ( all finish n the top 12- Burton gets highest finish- because his crew is THE most consistent of the RCR pack )
JPM does soemthing stoopid as does David Ragan.
Short tracks leave for lots of drama....
( this is the part where DINE tells me she loves my crazy Phoenix scenario...... )

I post here intermittantly, every few weeks, but I remember Diane, she's was one of the regulars. I think we even got into an argument one time, but now whatever we argued about was so unimportant that I don't remember what it was about. I feel for her family.

This is for Dani2, his song to Diane:
I miss the look of surrender in your eyes
The way your soft brown hair would fall
I miss the power of your kiss when we made love
But baby most of all
I miss my friend
The one my heart and soul confided in
The one I felt the safest with
The one who knew just what to say to make me laugh again
And let the light back in
I miss my friend
I miss the colors that you brought into my life
Your golden smile, those blue-green eyes
I miss your gentle voice in lonely times like now
Saying it'll be alright
I miss those times
I miss those nights
I even miss the silly fights
The making up
The morning talks
And those late afternoon walks
I miss my friend

Ok gang.....I feel in my heart that Di is ready for us to start back cutting the fool on here.Dawn......As most know I have a weakness for my local Fiesta Brava joint and the cold grande cervezas.I went last nite and took the little DJ.I toasted a Big Dos Equis with lime to the littleman's sippy cup in memory of Di and had a smile on my face. The littleman wanted Daddy's beeeera,as he says it!
I'll toast her again with my posse as we cause utter chaos and mayham at the ROCK for the ARCA race this coming.I'll miss some of Phoniex.....whoopty doo, boring ass flat track!!
My balls are a little numb with all this...but it WILL get better gang.In memory and not a bad pick anyway....The 14 gets his first Cup win as owner/driver.The 99,17,88,and 24.May the 48 have issues as I know Di would approve!!
Beer Beer Beer!Agg...where you at?

Just close your eyes and you’ll be here with me
Just look to your heart
And that’s where I’ll be
If you just close your eyes till you’re drifting away
You’ll never be too far from me
If you close your eyes
I know I’m gonna see you again
But promise me that you won’t forget
’cause as long as you remember
A part of us will be together
So even when you’re fast asleep
Look for me inside your dreams
Keep believing in what we’re sharing
And even when I’m not there to tell you I’ll love you forever
Anytime that I can’t be where you are
