Tony Eury Jr. out as Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s crew chief
It was announced today, that Tony Eury Jr. will not be Jr.'s crew chief anymore. Brian Whitesell will be in for this weekend at Dover and then Lance McGrew will take over next week while they look for a replacement.
Honestly, I thought it was a bad move for Jr. to take Eury Jr. with him, he needed a clean break, which this season has shown. Not that Eury Jr. is a bad crew chief, not that at all, it's just it hasn't worked well with them for quite a while, even before Jr. made the move to Hendrick.
There had been a lot of talk as to when this might happen and I guess this last weekend was just the nail in the coffin that told them the move had to be made now. I'm actually surprised it took this long, but I wish them all well.
Your thoughts?

Gretchen,
The only wins that matter are the ones in the Cup series and those haven't gotten him anything but a lot of praise from DW (the royal butt kisser).
Kyle made it 3 for 3 and I could have only been happier if Tony edged Johnson for the win or Dale Jr. figured out how to win on Sunday. Kyle Busch will not win a championship until he figures out that he has to leave something left in the car or truck for the final lap. It doesn't matter how many laps he leads in the race if he doesn't win the final lap. He drives so hard to get to the front that he tears up the car and there isn't anything left.
Joey has nothing to apologize to Baby Busch for, the bump from behind didn't blow Kyle's tire, it already gave way that is why Lagono got such a run on him.

FUCK KYLE BUSCH AND HIS 50 whatever wins!

i've noticed when a "man" snickers he is usually confused about his sexuality.
i'm only guessing but i would say there are more people doin the LMAO and ROTFLMFFAO thing after KYle leads all race long and makes a really stupid mistake and goes straight back to 18th with 2 laps left, than when Jr and his CC can't figure out how to get the race car to handle and goes to 17th.
oh yeah and then KYle runs to his motor home and hides from reality.
yeah kinda like the new super star in the nba going out in the semi finals.
then sneaking out to sit on the team bus and avoiding the media.
lots of clASS there guys.

Lady Karma perhaps?
Posted by: Barb G
yeah karmas a biotch most of the time.
the media report today is Jr went over to speak to his holiness KYle at the driver's meeting. after a couple of minutes Jr went back to his seat.
KYle looked at his last bff joey and 'SMIRKED" hahahaha.
but really the kicker is when KYle brake checked his team mate who was pumped to win and KYle got shoved up the track.
lol
after the race little KYle's crew chief quickly told Kyle how horrible that was and DON'T SAY ANYTHING DON'T SAY ANYTHING.
KYle's prob...
maybe bi as in bi-polar.
when he's up he's really mouthy and hyper saying all kinds of crazy sh*t.
when he doesn't get his way he runs away and gets all reclusive.
yes KYle it's all about YOU.

jon
Good luck to Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the entire #88 team today at Dover, Miles will look great sitting in his trophy case.
yeah the sport needs that but Jon but man he is such a long shot, he got his fluke mulligan win with last years milage race..and this eyars milage race is over so his odds are slim and non a top would be great top 10 will be awin for the 88 team
if Jr cant drive a rex stump car to the front then he should pac it in and iam sure the 24-48 are laughing and snickering at all Jr's failures and mis fortune
Posted by: aggie | May 31, 2009 1:00:15 PM
Two down and one more to go, I can only hope today's outcome is much the same. Kyle Busch continues to show his poor sportsmanship and lack of maturity.
Congrats to Brian Scott and the team for last nights truck race and congrats to brad and the whole #88 team in the Nationwide race.
I guess Kyle Busch is so focused on winning at all cost he forgets to check how many laps are in the race, since he seems to be beating the heck out of the car or truck so hard to get to the front he forgets to leave some in the tank for the end. Not that I really care!!!
Good luck to Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the entire #88 team today at Dover, Miles will look great sitting in his trophy case.

Congrats to Brian Scott and team on winning
the truck race. It was Brian's first win in
the NASCAR series.
Good runs for Dennis Setzer, David Starr,
Jason White and Johnny Sauter. All ended up
in the top five.
Posted by: Dottie | May 31, 2009 2:38:00 AM
Congrats to Brad Keselowski and team on
their win in Nationwide.
Joey Logano is another young driver who is
focused on winning races. He's young and
learning right now but down the road, watch
out he's going to be good. He had a good run
today and ended up in 2nd.
A good run for the 29, 32, 60, 98, 99, 38,
27 and 12. All ended up in the top 10.

darn or dad gum it... is that how it's said down there.
any how
i read where KYle is gonna win ALL the rest of the races this season so i did something more fun than seeing that baby on a race track... i helped somebody move from one second floor apt to another.
it's true ya got a truck and everyone wants to fill it full of useless knick knacks etc and have you drive to their new locale.
i see kyle dressed up like brian scott won in the trucks.
and, kyle busch dressed up to look like brad keselowski won the nationwide race.
crazy stuff.
oh wait
kyle didn't win sh*t.
longano punted kyle outta da way after he brake checked joey goin into 1.
lol
LOL
did kyle walk faster than the average reporter and refuse comment??
i guess the little brat has to wait till next week to totally dominate our world.

Jon2...Tony Stewart and Dale Jr. are my 2
favorite drivers...however if I were a car
owner I would much rather have Kyle's
immature butt in my car than an unfocused
driver like Jr.
As you know Smoke is my favorite driver but
I like some other drivers as well and Jr. is
one of them. Jr. will never be the driver
Dale Sr. was but I do think he's a better
driver than what he's been doing. I don't
know what's wrong with Jr. but he needs to
focus on his driving instead of just riding
around in circles. Now that TEJr. is gone he
won't be around to take the blame but of
course the CC is the first to go. Look at
the mistakes Jr. has made but now he had
better get his act together and start
focusing on his driving and winning some
races. If I was a team owner and had my
choice between Jr. and Kyle Busch, you bet
I would take Kyle any day. I wish the #88
team the best of luck and I hope things work
out for them.

Jon2... Tony Stewart & Dale Jr. are my 2 favorite drivers... however if I were a car owner I would much rather have Kyle's immature butt in my car than an unfocused driver like Jr.... hopefully Jr. will make a recovery & end up with a decent finish to the season... but he will never be the driver that Kyle is... you are looking at HMS thru rose colored glasses...
Posted by: Stewart | May 30, 2009 7:02:58 PM
What a pitiful display of childishness by Kyle B today. No wonder Big Rick made the decision to boot his immature butt out of his org.

I wanna be the first in line to "Jimmy Spencer" that arrogant little bitch. And people thought Tony Stewart had emotional problems. I wanna see a few crew members drag his pouty ass out of his hauler and kick it all the way back to pit road or turn 3 or wherever his crying ass leaves his car when something doesn't go his way. How such a fine Christian man like Joe Gibbs can tolerate that spoiled little brat is beyond me. I agree with Michael; Gibbs tolerates him because he has been winning. He compromises his values for the Almighty Dollar.

Re: Kyle's comment on Dale Jr.
Earnhardt Jr. said Busch's comment didn't
surprise him.
"He's always had a chip on his shoulder for
me, so I expect it any time he gets an
opportunity to throw a jab at me," Earnhardt
Jr. said.

hey aggie...
are you counting the cc for a week.
omg, y'alls replacement for jr didn't qualify. note to self, qualify before you can win. hey, J/K kinda.
LBJ, for a sec i was trying to connect that wacky ol' president from texas and nascar.
speakin of lebron, as i said elsewhere, ky is the new lebron james...
THE MVP WITHOUT A CHAMPIONSHIP.
the shaq without the daddy.
anyway
hearing how little busch dominates truck is like shaq dunkin on the 12 and under local neighborhood team.
GOOD for da ego, but nobody cares really.
and to say busch is the new Sr... lmao.
Sr won it in what, his 2nd year with a new team not close to the HMS of that time.
ky made it to the chase but chocked like a fat man runnin a 10k. out4dacount.

i guess when you spent your whole childhood racin your social skills aren't fully developed until later in life.
yeah good point u bring up.......the guy does have a woody for Jr like lots of them do he just voiced his opinion
exile HUGE pressure for Jr NOW as he will have basically gone thru 3, yes 3 cc's in one year or 6 months .......smoke went thru how many CC's in 10 sucessful years at jgr, dont use 5 min's, or any lifelines to answere that one please LOL
as for the chase look at the guys in front of him, for jr to into the chase good luck
dj
how dominat was LBJ other nite?? did u see that look in his face after a killer 3?? sid crosby had a similar look and it was all over for the canes!! kobe showdown with lebron will be great

If the TV and other media are wondering wtf business is it of Kyle's what's going on at Jr's team, then why are they asking him? The media is all about promoting themselves and they should realize that if it weren't for guys like Kyle they would have nothing to promote. Do you really think that if Kyle had simply said it was none of his business and wouldn't comment that they would have left him alone and not badgered him until he answered. Someone asked the guy a question and he answered it and pretty much answered it the exact same way as most of the people on these blogs and people in the media have answered it.
Posted by: Peter | May 30, 2009 5:25:39 AM
well little ky anal grease busch doesn't realize a career in racing is one that can be gone in the blink of the eye.
the tv talkin heads pretty summed ky up... ahhh, why is it ky busch's business wtf another team is doing ??
i guess when you spent your whole childhood racin your social skills aren't fully developed until later in life.
while winning doesn't require a fully developed personality, at the end of the day ky busch is just another little asswipe you think might kinda benefit from a fat lip or a short but painful stay in the hospital.

here is one I know you will love
Jr. is filling the void left when Kyle Petty stepped off. The much coveted “Famous name, less talented, also ran, space filler” driver.

Everyone can say what they want about Kyle's personality... But there is no denying his driving ability... He's a very talented young man...
Don't think you guys have to worry about a trip to the Hubble... is anyone really expecting Jr. to when this weekend...
Posted by: Stewart | May 29, 2009 6:58:48 PM
Micheal,
IMO soley.. Your comments on the last blog were the same as I said:
"Why can't people just admit that nobody was stopping Kyle from succeeding at Hendrick. He did win a few races by the way. Just admit that the truth was, that he was still learning as a driver while he was there and his attitude sucked. He acted like a little brat. "
Odd isnt it, you post facts.. So here is another one, since Kyle left he has 11 Cup wins, Junior 1..
So yes I do like "asses" as you might say that arent scared of the PC BS that NASCAR and a said team likes..
He didnt fit in at HMS, remember last year? Him and Smoke were going to kill each other...???? Umm good friends..
Can you please tell me why Joe is comprimising his values? Let me guess Smoke and Kyle?
Oddly enough, Kyle had the balls and "BFC"(Gretch you are a trip) to say the truth today about the CC thing..
Gretch, my balls are bouncing and saying..
2, 5, 11, 17, 18 and sitting there the 16.. Roush takes this weekend..
I LMFAO when I saw your KK post..
Allstate ladies he done well, Hats off to RPM as well..

maybe you find some gem of wisdom flowing from the "kid's" pouty little mouth.
me? not so much.
it's like you know when a 20 year old with no job no runnin car no education no future trys to explain the meaning of life to me to impress his "girl" i for some reason generally answer... so fuckin what.
sorry (or not) i'm not buying the bullshit story lil ky has a noggin full of impressive life information just waiting to spew forth to make our lives so much more, well, fulfilled.

The7y call me the Fireman, Thats what I am..."Lance did a lot of things," recalled Busch, who was effectively replaced by Earnhardt at Hendrick after the 2007 season. "You're always trying to stay ahead of the curve, and he worked a lot with his team and worked a lot with the cars just trying to stay ahead of the curve with the way everything was going and stuff, just like any other crew chief does. To be honest with you, besides that, he's got his hands full, I guess, having to deal with what's going on. And if Junior doesn't run well, then he's going to be the problem again. It's never Junior, it's always the crew chief."...Hmmmph I like this Kids attitude
Posted by: Fan #5 | May 29, 2009 2:55:14 PM
i wish jr would invite the m&m boy to go a few rounds in his boxin ring.
you know, the one in which arturo gotti gave him a black eye.
i might pay to see that.
i'd say as much as some talk jr runnin 35th on sunday is killin attendance, having ky run his 14 year old mouth reminds most paying customers of the little asshole who lives next door or one of your sisters kids.
Posted by: exile | May 29, 2009 2:50:30 PM
hey dawn
are you following the opening of this year's WSOP in vegas or is the thought of the size of a driver with little feet's d-unit...
anyway
Foreclosures. Layoffs. Declining revenue. The collapse of capitalism on the horizon.
None of that mattered to the 201 players who paid $40,000 (only the second highest buy-in event in the history of the WSOP) during the middle of the global credit crisis and as the once almighty U.S. dollar continues to lose value.
You know it's bad when Bloomberg financial writers are using the declining prices of Latvian hookers to demonstrate that a recovery is nowhere within sight.
$40,000 is a significant amount of money.
That number for some poker writers, teachers, and plumbers represents a year's salary.
But to an elite group of poker players, that was their ticket towards a shot at a bracelet and bragging rights for winning the highest buy-in NL tournament at the WSOP.
All they had to do was fade a field of 201 runners.

That Kyle don't hold nothing back...go check out his comments on Jr and Mcgrew on nascar.com.Dude basically kicking the man while he is down.....Not a big fan of either ,but be nice if Jr would grow a set and just bitch slap him or at least confronting him.Maybe on the track??Oh well,me just looking for drama....thing is dude is about right...but if it doesn't lite a fire under Jr's tail then i don't know what will.......

i don't know...
eury jr prob woke up today and hopped out of bed and started jumpin around and yelling "i'm free, thank godd i'm free" like a black guy on emancipation day.
i do believe eury jr is an old style hands on kinda guy who isn't up on the high tech engineering data.
while it's nice to think back when some self taught genius could build by hand the winning indy car or stock car in the garage behind his house it ain't gonna happen this century.
so there you go.
while some people snicker like a 12 year old about jr not doing well and are so proud to blow the latest back marker in a turdyota having a team mate luck into a win then be proud.
some times it don't take much.

Thanks aggster. I feel for Eury, I really do. Being DEj's CC is like the biggest pressure cooker job in the world of racing. And like Kyle said, it's never Junior's fault, it is/has been/will always be his CC's fault.
That said. i want him to start winning again. That guy is why I got hooked on this sport. And it's hard when your guy is sucking fat cock each week. Ask all of KK's fans--LMAO-- THAT WAS FOR MY GIRLS!! You know who you are!! LOL.. My best year would be for Tony and Junior to be in a race for a title! But that just ain't gonna happen. Actually my life would be complete if Rick would "Trade" Junior to SHR, and then Tony sign either Truex or Khane to his 4th car. ( RH could but BK in his 4th car) LOL!!
That would make my balls bounce....SHR with TS, RN, KK, and Junior...

Gretchen
here tought u might like a few excerts from an online article
D2 funny should mention RE and how much CK learned from RE
great rummor going around about RE and JR for 2010
the real tipping point was likely the three-week stretch of Phoenix, Talladega, and Richmond before that. Those tracks account for 10 of Earnhardt's 18 Cup victories, but he stumbled through them with an average finish of 20th, far from the inspiring performances needed to claw back into Chase contention
It's hard to market a guy who sits 19th in points -- 203 outside of Chase contention -- who's led fewer than 100 laps all year. The most notable news items for Earnhardt this season have been missing his pit box not once, not twice, but multiple times; being one-half of the duo that triggered Daytona's biggest wreck; and failing to live up to his father's famous name. It's not exactly the type of excitement that'll have Leno and Letterman calling, is it?
Earnhardt's cantankerous cousin who was the only crew chief at Hendrick without an engineering degree. While the effort was there, Eury seemed lost in a world of high-tech support and information he never came close to seeing in his years at DEI. It was almost as if he was so in awe of being handed the best cars on the planet, he never quite figured out what to do with them. That led to dozens of races in the past 18 months in which the No. 88 would begin with the best car on the track, only to see the wrong adjustments drag it down out of contention.
Hendrick will likely be looking for a man on the pit box who's got the established track record to match up with the sport's most recognizable star. Ray Evernham has been rumored, but the mastermind behind Jeff Gordon hasn't been up on the pit box in nearly a decade. A more likely option would be pairing Earnhardt with a guy like Greg Zipadelli, a "put up or shut up" kind of guy who led Tony Stewart to a pair of championships and Brickyard 400 wins with Joe Gibbs.
Posted by: aggie | May 29, 2009 1:02:12 PM
yo aggie we disagree on harvick. he has won most of the big races.
some drivers don't win that often but it's good to see them standing in victory lane.
kyle bush... lol.
the little asshole continues to be, oh, around 14 years old mentaly.
but you know, kyle is a fast little 14 year old.
joe gibbs spouting the i'm a christian does get a little sickening.
mainly cause, like most christians out there, when it comes to the money they kinda forget the happy do unto others blah blah.
the i win because god personally looked down and approved my teams winnin ya know would be more believeable if when they blow up and finish 34th they would say... god looked down today and hates me and my motor program.
so at the end of the day when the light go out and all the fans go home who you wanna be ??
kevin who appears to have a balanced life.
jr who appears to have somewhat of a balanced life.
or
kyle who appears to be just another mouthy little drama queen.
yeah ky it's all about you.
