Boring Michigan
Michigan definitely proved itself to be the typical follow the leader track, with the leader getting a huge lead. It seems to be that way at all the d-shaped ovals, add the loose factor in and it makes a boring race.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I like to see racing for position from first on back, not just a line of cars, looking more like a parade than a race.
Congrats to Mark Martin for his win.
I'm not sure if everyone heard about Benson's wreck on Saturday, he is expected to be fine, but he has multiple injuries from that wreck. Ironic is he wouldn't have been in that race if he still had his truck ride, his team folded last week due to sponsorship troubles. My best wishes go out to Benson for a speedy recovery.

Jon2,
You have it backward, Team Red Bull is contemplating leaving Turdyota soon if they don't get better engine support. It looks like Turdyota forgot that it was Team Red Bull and MWR that got them into NASCAR, since they seemed to shifted all their attention to Joe Gibbs Racing.

DJ, be careful as Jon2 will be claiming Robby as a Hendrick team member if he wins today. Even though he drives a Toyota. lol.
Posted by: Stewart | Jun 21, 2009 12:55:36 PM
Stop the presses!!J2,picks the 7 to do well.He is not so thick-skulled after all??
33,7,39,26,14.....42 gets caught up in a double file restart, especially since he was bitching about it on Nascar Now.That'd be great!
Enjoy and drink wine....and beer....and beer

"It’s the race to match Hendrick Motorsports and its SISTER (my caps) team, Stewart-Haas Racing, which are combining to dominate the series. Drivers in Hendrick Motorsports racecars -- including Tony Stewart of Stewart-Haas and Brad Keselowski of Phoenix Racing -- have won eight of the last 10 races."

Looks like Toyota might be dropping Red Bull and it's rumored RB will go with Chevy with Big Rick supplying the engines and chassis and development. Beginning to sound all to familiar. Who'da thought Brian Vickers might be again working for Big Rick?
Negan? What's the nation of origin for that word.
My picks for today: 42,7,18,14. I believe the back thing with my fav driver Jeff G is too much for him to win at such a physically demanding track like Sonoma. I hope it doesn't turn into one of those fuel mileage deals.

personally i don't care if the 24, 48, or 5 win a race. i don't care if rick wins the championship. i would rather see a hendrick car win it than a freakin candy ass toyurda or the fake jesus racing team.
you wanna spend your time hatin' obama, clinton, rick, Jr, jimmie, do it.
i think like penske in open wheel, rick is about 3 times smarter than the average team owner. if he's just a dumb guy then your team got it's ass kicked by the dumb guy's team.
no wonder y'all are so upset.

Wasn't Chad a Crew Chief on one of the Dodge teams the year of their comeback? Seems like they were on the outside of the front row of the Daytona 500. How many wins and championships did they have? None maybe.Any driver could win with Chad.

Yes Exile I knew or should have you and J2 would be the first out to have the knees ready for JJ and Big Rick.. You can have him, idolize him etc.
The difference in Rick and those whom negan the sport, they actually went to jail and prison..
The only sad point are those at HMS whom werent full of shit had to pass away in the plane crash..
So what does your Boy do, goes and "buys the NC gov".. Shock, but I know big Rick is reformed..
THey didnt have to do a "Magic Johnson" to get out of it.. Odd he was Pardoned by the BJ president and never served a day playing Magic... But wow they both had something "deadly" and still live? Yeah Remission my ass.
The difference is Magic was not a felon when he was diagnosed..
Find it odd Rick is there all the time .. Oh nevermind you wouldnt . You are tooting a horn.
Posted by: D2 | Jun 20, 2009 8:06:25 PM
If SHR adds another driver, let's see, that'll be.......seven drivers in Big Rick's org. If this happens, between BR and Big Jack, they'll have 1/3rd of the race teams.

If kyle wins he is a great driver, if he loses the car wasn't setup right, can't have it both ways.
Posted by: aaron
yeah, true.
or as a tv talkin head loves to boast...
kyle ain't doin too good today it's not the toyurto car it's that they are a doin some of that spearmintin' for the next race boys.
you know some of them engine things.
jj lucks into 3
ky unlucks into ZERO

looks like everybody bales out of truck and it's a toyoto series. then the japs can get all up in the horsepower race and really kick some of that white american ass.
oh wait a sec. if it survives as an all toyoto celebration of all things V-eighty and hand made bodies and tube frames there goes the inovation.
if it's all about you then you just bring out stock trucks leter 'em up, slap a number on 'em and away y'all go.
wooohooooo 87 mph for sure down the back straight.
if nascar fans are so brand loyal and never look at a product that don't do that advertisin in cup then how do companies who spend millions with the france family business go so dang broke.

"an owner who isn't full of lies"
ok so nascar was built by moonshiners, kinda felons who didn't get caught.
i guess it's ok to break the law if you don't get caught.

I am not sure who's locked into to contracts or what, but I can't see where SHR could go wrong with Truex, Keselowski, Khane, or KURT BUSCH for his third car.
Man is it ever fucking HOT down here! The damn dog went out to pee and his usual 30 minutes lasted all of 10 and his ass was howling at the door to come back in.....
I am sticking with my 14, 24, 7, 42...but I will add a sleeper in the 83 car. What is it now? 3 or 4 poles and no good finish in any of those races. He's due for one. And Ambrose is a helluva road racer as well.....I see WHINE Country being very entertaining 2morrow.

Thank you Nitro, finally a FMS fan spoke the BIG RICK idea..

WeLl I dont share your thoughts there. I would rather be a pauper and with a owner whom isnt full of lies, Bullshit and has a felony conviction.. BTW is as fake as he is full of shit in front of a camera.. Yes Big Rick Dick is a PR heaven.. But personally a liar, evaded, schemed to take money and a overall .. oh nuff said

Deb, so if any other driver wins it's because of the driver. If jimmie wins it's because of the crew chief. Give me a break you don't luck your way into 3 straight championships without knowing how to drive the car. Even thou holyness kyle busch cant win unless the car is setup right. If kyle wins he is a great driver, if he loses the car wasn't setup right, can't have it both ways.

so tony told the media he's thinking about
a 3rd. car. who would be a good driver to
add over there at SHR.
I think Brad Keselowski would be a good pick
for SHR. Brad wants a cup ride for next
season and HMS doesn't have an opening for
him. Then you've got Kasey Khane or Kurt
Busch who would potentially try to negotiate
a release from their current contract to
drive for SHR. If Smoke decides to add a 3rd
team the driver will be a good one.
Posted by: Dottie | Jun 20, 2009 1:45:38 AM
Stewart, thanks for the link to the Smoke story. Hinton is one of my favorite writers.
DJ, thanks for the laugh, sure needed it. ("Gonna be hot as J2's love affair for Big Rick " DJ) lol
DJ, good luck to Robby on Sunday.
F5, severe storms went thru Indy earlier and another round is starting right now. Tornado warning in my county until 4:00 am. Watch out as they may be heading your way again.
D2, listened to Zac's Highway 20 Ride, Toes and Drive today. Good stuff.
Barb, I would love to see Truex at SHR but because of his little brother he'll probably end up at MWR.
Deb, great post, way to go girl. :)
Gretchen, stay cool down there and watch out for the deep fried Twinkies.
aggie, happy that you are having such a great time on your trip. Stay safe.

I'd like to see Truex at SHR, exile. It grinds my gears to think that he may be headed to MWR.

Aaron,
I've kept my mouth shut, but here you go.
Anybody could be JJ if they had Chad. We have seen the boy can't do shit in Trucks or Nationwide. The boy spins hisself out on his own and why is that?? He ain't got Chad.
Nascar and the drunk Brian has screwed Carl Long so bad. The next time Brian get's caught DUI, I hope he goes down all the way to the freakin bottom and never see's daylight again.
J2,
Big Rick is a Felon and always be. I don't give a crap if Slick Willey Pardoned him or not. Once a Felon, always a Felon. SMOKE IS NOT one of Big Rick's boys. Get over it J2.
D2, Gretch,
All these Gator's and Dawg's being arrested is a scary thought. They are our future. Zack Brown, you GO boy. That was good as shit D2. Good for him.
Agg,
Hope you are havin fun down here in the south. We will fry anything we can put in a frying pan or a deep fryer. We fry everything, that's why we are such sweet people. We know how to eat.
Posted by: Deb | Jun 19, 2009 10:26:53 PM
The difference between kyle busch and jimmie johnson is that some people think he will win championships and jimmie johnson has championships (3). Now I understand why you don't like him. Kyle will probably never beat jj.
Posted by: aaron | Jun 19, 2009 8:09:13 PM
Gretch,
You floored me on that UM has 2 arrest, and UGA HAS 30?????
Damn I didnt know that. Shit
Going with the 7, 24, 47,26,and 09..

Gonna be 104 w/ Heat Index of 111 here tomorrow...wooo weee. HOT!!
I LOVE FRIED GATOR TAIL!!! Both Literally and Figuratively speaking.
D2, I can;t say much about that SI article becauson page 2, UGA has had 30 playets arrested in the last 5 years, Tennessee is 2nd with 21, UF with 19, FSU with 12, MIAMI has 2- count 'em 2 player arrests in 5 years.

Posted by: Gretchen | Jun 19, 2009 8:52:45 AM
hey aggie
are you back home yet.
you can eat fried ice cream and fried everything else cause you live in a country where you have health care.
and you don't even have to be super rich to see a doc anywhere other than the e. r.
down here anyone with employer partial paid health coverage works for people who haven't yet realized they can dump insurance and hire cheap labor or are working with a union.

You ever wonder what some of these racers would be doing if they earned their living doing something else. I'm positive Kyle Busch would be working at Best Buy as a member of the Geek Squad. Wouldn't he look cute driving one of those black/white Beetles.

i bet if it was toyoto who made rick bribe them to get inventory you yoto lovers wouldda let it die out by now.
meanwhile, i'm thinkin any car company would love to have more customers than inventory this year.
it's all your point of view.
yes it is a money thing with politicans. always has been, always will.
when a senator who is charged with sorting out the best thing for the voters, but has taken $3,000,000.00 in bribes, no wait, i mean you know contributions from an insurance company, it is a sad country.
Posted by: exile | Jun 18, 2009 6:04:14 PM
"There are a lot of people that don't like him at all and there is an awful lot of people that passionately like him."
ok
i got it now.
ky's very very popular and it's his job to be the savior of nascar.
a big bad ass racin thru the back country trunk filled with some o that moonshine throwing caution to the wind with a cigarette hangin outta the corner of your mouth sport saved by a little pu$$y with a candy sponsorship.
excuse me while i touch the sky.
ok, i'm back.
judging by 75% of the seats being empty at the last race i'm guessing the three quarters who don't like ky stayed home.
out of the 25% who showed up to see ky lose about 1% of them sit down their soy milk long enough to cheer ky's 13th place finish.
so burton feels the need to not whine about his teams shit performance and focus on ky that's ok. some people feel the need to be in the media spotlight.
and jimmie decided to not make his life all about ky.
although ky's plan obvously revolves around seeing his name in the media as much as possible some folks have other stuff to think about.
i know it's not an easy thing to do since ky spends so much time blurting out cartoonish outlandish childish stuff to anyone who will pass it on to y'all.
ky... he's over the hill, dropping like a rock, too old to contend.
it sucks to be too old to contribute and you haven't grown up yet.
now that's funny.
Posted by: exile | Jun 18, 2009 5:51:40 PM
JoAnn,
If Jeff Burton feels the antics demonstrated by Kyle B are necessary for the survival of the sport, then he's one deluded and misguided soul.
K2,
You don't have to lie to be convicted. The evidence against Big Rick was so airtight he immediately tried to plea bargain a lesser conviction.
You know, K2, you're gonna have to make peace with Big Rick if you ever want to make it right with the G-d of your choice. Your hate of him and JJ is quite unsettling as well as making fun of Big Rick's bout with leukemia on occasion is well, just sicko.
