Hornaday and Busch win
Congrats to Hornaday and Busch on their wins. I thought it was possibly going to be a KHI weekend until Harvick and crew (not sure who made the call) decided to try and stretch the fuel mileage. They had said he had to go in on a certain lap, that they were going to pit on that lap, they didn't and Harvick ran out of fuel a lap later. What could have been a great finish, turned out to be a horrible one.
I just don't get Lagasse, I think he needs to look at replays before opening his mouth and says something is "payback". He apparently thought that when he came down (as replays show) and clipped the nose of the 62 of Gaughan that it was payback for the incident earlier in the race with the 66. Both were racing deals and I think he needs to stop spouting off nonsense at least until he saw a replay.
Double file restarts definitely made it more interesting for the fans, I understand the drivers are not too thrilled with this, but it does make it more exciting for the fans.
Your thoughts?

have lead some of the auto dealers to exclaim "Hate to see how they handle health care if it goes universal."
of course they do.
cause you know them car dealers sit around NOT thinking about selling cars, dumbass, but about other stuff All Day Long.
you're a stupid fuck on weekends and thru the week 2.

Tony Stewart will win this race from the back of the field. Is that a BROOM I see? Or am I riding around on a broom tonight?
It would not matter if The POTUS shit gold and let all of us have the nuggets- if some folks do not like him, they do not like him. And it ain't gonna change.
LETS GO RACIN!!!
GO DAWGS

That's part of the agreement, engine destroyed, clunkers are to be crushed into little pieces and then the metal is recycled. That's what's supposed to happen. Vin number entered into the fed site. However if feds don't talk to the state dmvs, well there is that possibility....
In light of the fact the govt clunkers website is crashing like the dickens, dealers now concerned they'll have to eat some of the givebacks, now appears feds are postponing the promised ten day dealer clunker payment turnaround, and mixed signals coming out of Washington on the program, have lead some of the auto dealers to exclaim "Hate to see how they handle health care if it goes universal."
Small business men are so smart.
Other,
Saw a photo of Waltrip's Pocono garage yesterday and appeared more water was inside than out. Pity the welding guy who steps in a puddle and gets lit up. Someone while back said something about Pocono Satan's Abode.

You bet, hang onto that 68 Camaro SS. No one
is going to get my GTP Grandprix w/Super-
charged engine either.

Dawn,
Yeah, I felt bad for our #14 but have no
fear....Smoke is to good of a driver to stay
at the end of the pack. Watch out! he'll be
coming to the front before you know it. That
back-up car may be even better then the one
he wrecked. You bet, I'll be pulling for
Tony from the back to the front.

WTF! My 68 Camaro SS with a non stock 350 and a powerglide gets 18+mpg on the highway. Guess these fools want to send it to the shredder too. They will have to pry the keys from my cold dead hand.
Posted by: 68 camaro ss | Aug 1, 2009 12:22:35 PM
Damn, damn, damn - Tony spun and hit the wall on the first lap of practice - starting last again at Pocono. :-(

Not a shot.
anyway of course as soon as a free clunker driver gets in an accident some one along the way is gonna sue the shit out of some body else.
so it may be a legal issue too.

I don't know if they Transplant brains here in the United States. After reading your comment I would say No they do Not Transplant brains here. You are a Expert in the Mileage a car acheives by simply Driving past it sitting in the distance at a Car lot. That reminds me of a game children Play in the Car. Look a Blue car it is a 19 Mile Per gallon car. The president should Give it to a goodwill so then they will give it to a family that has no Insurance and no Tax and Title and they can Drive it to a job they do Not have.Who is the ashole now?

All those cars collected by the Gov. clunker program have to be destroyed. What about recycling the parts? Are we not supposed to be recycling and saving the planet.
Posted by: 68 camaro ss | Jul 31, 2009 7:30:
Sorry 68, the Oil is drained and replaced with a Sodium Solution {Liquid Glass) when the engine locks up it taken to the shredder...Judging by the cars I saw at the Dealer...I'm sure ALL got 18+MPG...SO instead of distributing these to Charities and Families that NEED transportation to WORK well crush em...Well if they can transplant Hearts and lungs all over the country it doesn't suprise me they Transplanted an asshole in Washington

I like that "7 wins" scenario, DJ, but Steve M is right. NASCAR would pull out the Robby Gordon Rule Book and Rob would end up last for violating Section 12-1 -actions detrimental to stock car racing - and everything else under the sun they could come up with.

Jon2,
Don't worry about me pal. Just get yourself some therapy. You do have mental health insurance, don't you?
Posted by: 68 camaro ss | Jul 31, 2009 8:56:49 PM
the problem with giving the good running good looking clunkers away is they use huge amounts of gas.
in the 70's the people who could afford to do it traded in their gas hogs for more economical cars and trucks.
the gas hogs went way down in value and the only people who would buy them were poor and couldn't afford to buy gas for them.
kinda the catch 22 thing.

DJ
Loved your race but unfortunately in the real world gf NASCAR,if the race ended your way-Robby would be found to be too high(r.rear)under weight, illegal rearend camber.roof height violation, and an illegal engine.Race entry totally voided-penalties to be ramped and announced on Tuesday.

DJ... that's the most exciting sounding race this year...
Posted by: Stewart | Jul 31, 2009 5:26:36 PM
Have I mentioned how much I distain the decision makers in Nascar?
Once again, they call qualifying...not that it would be exciting...but it is something. They got the rest of the day, allday Saturday cept for the ARCA and could time manage and get the shit in.......
It will be a sleeper Sunday,so I will hope for such drama as.......
The 7 wins the race by punting the 48 and punches the shit out of him with a bruise that truly gives him that unibrow look.
The 42 and 29 get together and they push and shove like little bitches,again......
The 18 and 88 race and trade paint for several laps, finally the 88 punts him into the wall,he collects alot of the HMS crowd, sorry girls, the 14,39,24.The 14 gets out and Jimmy Spencer's the beak of the 18.
The 31 gets collected in a double file restart and cusses on National TV.....
Notice if I keep eliminating the good cars my boy has a better chance?
The 82 and 83 race hard for laps untill the 82 slips a bit as he sticks his freshly painted toe nails out the window(cause you know they have to do that on the backstretch)to dry and the 83 clips one of his nails, sending them both into the grass and they do it ala Park and Jr style....
The 42 gets back on the track, but gets caught for speeding in the pits, and promptly tells Brian France and Helton to stick their speedometers up their ass......
There was 8 fans there, and 7 were asleep...the other came onto the track to get the 17's autograph....
So...the 7 wins with the 71,09,64,34....the 42 ran out of gas on the backstretch and had to walk home......Untill the 29 came by and offered him a ride, only to fake him out and take off........
Come up with some shit when ya know it is gonna be boring er.......I can dream can't I???
You know what time it is.......
Dos Equis time baby....Ya'll have a nice and safe weekend........
Posted by: DJ | Jul 31, 2009 5:17:57 PM
My picks for Pocono are:
14, 48, 11, 24, 99
Sleeper: 5
I made one change. Dropped the 18 and went
with the 99.

No apology needed, Stewart. I understand you and agree with your sentiments. As Graceann said......AMEN!!!
Yeah, quals are rained out, Gretchen. They lucked out getting practice in before the rain came. It's been raining here since about 10AM but I'm about 25 - 30 miles west of the track.
I'm going with Smoke this weekend. Gut feeling. I'll hurl if JJ wins again.

Settle down Stew!I used to let ol' Dudly Do Right get to me more than he was actaully worth. The type A personality and the plain ol' ass whooping mentality aided me in having burn a piston in my ticker,so I needed to not let him or other unworhty shit get under my skin.Oh he still does...but I have come to realize that he gets his jollies by posting shit like what he just posted and seeing the reaction HE gets.....He goes against the grain and that is his shtick if you will. You crawl his ass and he either goes away or ignores you........
Keeps the blog interesting at times though I have to say...I jet when the politics rule.IMO,they all suck ass, just some worse than others.Either way were fucked.........
Have I mentioned my bouncing freshly waxed balls for Pocodrool?????
I think I did,but I forgot.....5 gets the 48 this time...sleeper the 00.
5,48,16,17,24...00.
G spot...how ya doing!
Kat,hope all is well.....

Now if the Brain Trust in DC were smart
they'd take thse "Used Cars" have them
looked over and GIVEN to Goodwill, Salvation
Army to families that need a vehicle to get
to work...God I should be in politics.
Moonshine, I totally agree with you. There
are thousands of poor families who need
transportation to work, etc. but can't
afford a car and are in desperate need of
one. The Salvation Army, Goodwill and many
more charities could use these vehicles.
How about our service men/women and their
families. I am sure lots of their families
are in need of a vehicle. What a waste of
good vehicles. I should be in politics with
you.

You are one of those Right Wing nutso mother fuckers that's all too goddamned concerned about a damn fetus not being aborted, but once that child is born- into poverty- FUCK it. You don't wanna help, don't want your tax dollars to help feed it, and heal it, but be goddamned if you would stand by and let it be terminated BEFORE it becomes society's problem.

"Government puts Brakes on Clunker Bill"...I'm SHOCKED! a Government program that has run out of money???, Hmmm The Postal Service, Social Security, Medicade...Bring on Health care!...While discussing over Coffee this AM I was told that Dealers that take in the "Clunkers" must pour a Sodium(liquid Glass) into the engine and run it until it locks up, I was also told that most of these cars and trucks where in Great Shape...The owners could get MORE out of them with this incentive than to sell em out right, SO I swung by a local Dealer and Low and behold a very nice clean 2dr Jeep Cherokee, and Olds Aurora,Lincoln MkVIII, and a Crown Vic...nothing that looked Clunkerish to me, Now if the Brain Trust in DC where smart they'd take these "Used Cars" have them looked over and GIVEN to Goodwill the Salvation Army to families that need a vehicle to get to work...GOD I should be Politics!
