Martin wins Chicagoland
Congrats to Mark Martin for the win, he definitely had a stout car and deserved the win.
The other story is the contact of Johnson and Busch. Can Johnson ever admit anything is his fault or partially his fault? I don't think so. When he was talked to after the race he acted as if it was no big deal, Busch on the other hand was pretty mad and had some not so nice comments to say about Johnson.
To hear Johnson explain the situation, it makes anyone but him be the villain. According to him, Gordon got three-wide with them, he "touched" Busch and then Busch "body-slammed" him. So, it wasn't his fault, it was Gordon and Busch's fault basically, at least in Johnson's eyes.
The way I saw it was Gordon didn't get on the inside of them until the incident happened, when Gordon went basically down on the apron to avoid the situation.
Busch just thinks it's a continuation of Johnson not racing like the former champion he is. Yes, Busch was mad, it ruined his finishing position in the race.
Yes, the car on the inside can get loose in side by side racing deals like this and I could have passed this off as one of those, as it did look like Johnson got loose, but, the same thing almost happened a few laps later with Johnson and Kahne. Kahne got by Johnson, Johnson raced back and Johnson almost forced Kahne into the wall while they were racing, kind of make you go hmmm.
But, I have to say it was nice to see some fire from Busch, at least until his PR guy whisked him away. Yes, I use to complain he went overboard in the past with his temper, but he's calmed down way too much, Penske made him too PC. It's nice to see some fire from the drivers and not the PC drivel we see most of the time.
Your thoughts?

Kathy,
I agree with you 100% about your take on incident and on Johnson ho hum attitude about putting Busch into wall. I was thinking Johnson needed to drug tested after his interview when he basically blamed it on his teammate who was behind him (half a car length) when he slammed Busch into the wall. He needs to go into acting after he ends his career, he was that convincing that he wasn't to blame for the incident.
Congrats to Mark on his fourth win of the season, which puts him at the top of the list at FMS among their 4 drivers.

Congrats to Mark and the 5 car R&D team. Hard to believe a R&D team is leading the Cup series in wins. RCR needs a R&D team like that.
