Martin wins Chicagoland
Congrats to Mark Martin for the win, he definitely had a stout car and deserved the win.
The other story is the contact of Johnson and Busch. Can Johnson ever admit anything is his fault or partially his fault? I don't think so. When he was talked to after the race he acted as if it was no big deal, Busch on the other hand was pretty mad and had some not so nice comments to say about Johnson.
To hear Johnson explain the situation, it makes anyone but him be the villain. According to him, Gordon got three-wide with them, he "touched" Busch and then Busch "body-slammed" him. So, it wasn't his fault, it was Gordon and Busch's fault basically, at least in Johnson's eyes.
The way I saw it was Gordon didn't get on the inside of them until the incident happened, when Gordon went basically down on the apron to avoid the situation.
Busch just thinks it's a continuation of Johnson not racing like the former champion he is. Yes, Busch was mad, it ruined his finishing position in the race.
Yes, the car on the inside can get loose in side by side racing deals like this and I could have passed this off as one of those, as it did look like Johnson got loose, but, the same thing almost happened a few laps later with Johnson and Kahne. Kahne got by Johnson, Johnson raced back and Johnson almost forced Kahne into the wall while they were racing, kind of make you go hmmm.
But, I have to say it was nice to see some fire from Busch, at least until his PR guy whisked him away. Yes, I use to complain he went overboard in the past with his temper, but he's calmed down way too much, Penske made him too PC. It's nice to see some fire from the drivers and not the PC drivel we see most of the time.
Your thoughts?

Posted by: exile | Jul 18, 2009 11:13:41 PM
meanwhile back @ the ranch...
In 1990, The New York Times reported that Dr. Forest Tennant, who was at that time the National Football League's drug adviser, "falsified drug tests" that ultimately helped shorten Tim Richmond's NASCAR career.
so i be a guessin... "after".
but really, as much as i care about civil rights etc. i say if a guy's a real terrorist then go ahead and shoot him in the noggin... front or back is ok by me.
and readin' him his rights is optional.

nascar was right in trying to get richmond out of the sport.
if a playa is SICK and can't finish a freakin' tire test and hides the reason from the sactioning group they should bust his lying ass.
so, no i'm not gonna agree with you about poor little timmy and how nascar screwed him etc.

yeah F5 i saw two interviews with mayfield.
i was gonna say...
hey if you are playing poker with jer and he buts in a big raise and then wipes his brow, pulls at his hair, and touches his chin over and over...
go all in.
good points F5.
and the part about jer helping nascar with their drug policy is kinda sweet huh.

After watching all the News interviews here in the Charlotte area, and watching JM's demeanor and actions...He's a tweeker, If I stopped him for a moving violation and questioned him...he has too many "nervous ticks" He'd be patted down, cuffed, sat in the back of the Cruiser...and his vehicle searched...Certainly not profiling

i know for some reason tim richmond is a real regular ol' hero to some nascar fans.
years ago i met a close relative of his. i made the comment that i thought it would be interesting to hang out with him.
she replied that tim was rich and would never hang out with someone like me.
since i'm not super rich like his family and would be ignored by the "people's champ" i stopped thinking he was so impressive as a human being.
"He stopped taking his aids medication in order to be clean for the test."
so he got aids somehow and didn't want anyone to know it, including women in bed, and emergency workers who could come in contact with his blood in case of an accident?
excuse me while i say... who gives a shit.
hey, not a shot.
usually i do have deep felt empathy for aids victims.
but there's something about a rich boy who cares more about his own reputation than the health of the people he comes into contact with in bed or on the race track.

Honest this is not a shot.
This story is just getting better daily and isn't going away.So thanks for the history update and now I have to ask if this relationship with Black/Nascar in 88 started before or after the Tim Richmond drug test?
Posted by: Steve M | Jul 18, 2009 9:43:02 PM
this is the guy jer says isn't really a doctor, you know some random guy who don't know...
Black's firm has no shortage of experience. Black joined Vanderbilt University in 1986 to establish a doping laboratory to test athletes for performance-enhancing drugs, and while there helped the NFL set up its first testing program for anabolic steroids. In the years since, he's also worked with sports clients ranging from NCAA Division I colleges, to the Major League Baseball Players Association, to the IndyCar Series. His relationship with NASCAR began in 1988, shortly before he left Vanderbilt to form Aegis, when former series executive Les Richter approached him at the NFL's recommendation about setting up a drug-testing program.

Steve...Nah,just not gonna say he is a meth head yet........just when your ready to say he may have a problem, then this.I said I wanted to wait and see the 2 tests he did that Nascar didn't have there mitts on.So the saga continues....
J2,humor there with the pissing contest......
Truck race pretty decent.Only beer #2...got tore up by fire ants while cloroxing the mold around the house.I do not do well with bites. So Beer and benadryl may cause me to type with a since of hyperness,I may say bad things about my step mom,and I will deny ever taking benadryl and I swear I only had 2 occifer....Better come drug test as I may cause other fellow bloggers harm!!!

I want to know if the independent tests that Mayfield took were gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). If not, I don't trust any tests that he took on his own.
Posted by: Dawn | Jul 18, 2009 6:25:27 PM
he is ?
and doing good too.
jer is more excited than a crack whore down on south broadway wiping her mouth headed to the other corner to score some shit.
lol. it don't get better than this daily episode of jeremy and the man.
so labcorp said his sample wasn't diluted at all?
ok so jer can pee out every hour or so according to him.
one time i took a pee test. the lab chick said pee to the first line.
as i was leaving she rushed out and said... oops i meant the 3rd line come back in here and do it again.
missed my lunch date.
did anyone monitor him peeing?
you know a bag of da pee in your under roo's. too much flush in the sample?
just sayin'
Posted by: exile | Jul 18, 2009 6:18:57 PM
Labcorp, a very very large independent medical testing co just down the road from my burg in Burlington, tested Jere's urine, results were negative.
This is turning out to be a pissing contest between Jere and NASCAR.
First test NASCAR did on Jere resulted in a positive so potent shoulda overdosed or died according to their analysis. Jere's still with us.

Why can't both sides get together and each pick a lab neither side has a "interest" in. 2 samples right there on the spot. Let the best man win.
Posted by: 68 camaro ss | Jul 18, 2009 5:03:31 PM
Jeremys drug test says he is innocent. NASCAR says he's guilty. WTF!!!!!!
Which is it?
Posted by: 68 camaro ss | Jul 18, 2009 4:58:35 PM
"Not a meth head....and my step mom shot and killed my dad, stay tuned, more details to follow later." the word by Jere.
This is surreal.
Only a matter of time before Nancy Grace headlines this one.

Oh I'm just a mor mon girl all pretty and petite
So don't let me have any rights
Oh, I've had it up to here
The moment that I step outside
So many reasons for me to run and hide
I can't do the little things I hold so dear
Cause it's all those little things that I fear
Cause I'm just a mor mon girl
I'd rather not be
Cause they won't let me drive late at night
Oh I'm just a mor mon girl-- guess I'm some kinda freak
Cause they all sit and stare with their eyes
Oh I'm just a mor mon girl. Take a good look at me.
Just your typical prototype

jon2 was not off base at all I guess with his assesment of a typical Meth Head.
LOL at exile's Japanese Proverb....sweet.
No race this weekend.
D2, yeah I am sure there are A LOT of driver's that NASCAR has suspicions about.
As I always did say---you can not tell me that Red Horse Racing did not KNOW that Fike was on Herion....can't tell me that. And when a driver owns the team......hmmmmm

i think a lot of people noticed that he pulled a lot of wacky shit.
and every time it was some one else's fault. every time.
if he didn't do good at a race the owner was conspiring with a 3rd team to replace him or the owner had a gf somewhere.
not his business what the owner did or who he dated.
but good ol' jer knew the owner would pay him off to keep him quiet.
what a man huh.

Now dipshit states "Nascar spiked the test." WTF>>>
i was wtf also.......and then i red some blog posts on that 19 minute interview in front of his house and a cop and ex druggie say he shows the signs of a typical denial guy who knows
guy u have admit one thing about his carrer jm might blame guy ect but he speaks his mind like on ray her erin shit going on and at penske........like him or hate em and sure he is his worst enemy but the guy did stand up in the past for himself against some heavies in cup penske and ray and over issues that in some ways he was shed some light on the inner workings on teams he was
he always seemed like teh odd man odd to a younger driver first ryan and then KK.....the dude just creates his own bad luck IMO
Posted by: aggie | Jul 18, 2009 1:45:49 AM
DJ, I agree with you. It's hard to believe
that Jeremy Mayfield was on drugs for 10
years and no one noticed anything.

D2, that was Graceann's post. She deserves
credit for the good comments.

Cool D2....I just think Nascar is full of shit and I wouldn't put it by them to save face....and what you said is why I can't believe he has raced for 10 years on the shit and other have done shit and now it has become to the forfront.....
I figured you didn't like him for some reason.I understand yours and drivers safety is a primary concern.I just plain and simple hate the new France mafia and I have never had any reason to not like Mayfield. That's honest from me.Again, not casting stones cause I ain't a saint. If the dude is got a problem hopefully he gets his shit under control as well as others with a problem, but you are correct if he is on some shit them racing isn't where he needs to hang his hat......but also what about all the others you mention that are doing shit? That would be a saftey concern too?
Off to Outback for a tall beverage and a tall beverage.....

That wasnt a shot at you.. I read from my post up. From what you do for a living you know AEGIS. They are gold on results..
Now dipshit states "Nascar spiked the test." WTF>>>
I saw above where Dottie or GA was talking about there bust with meth there.. Shits nasty.. It is
As far as you proof you asked , its been widely suspected "(on something)"..
But I am not slamming just this F TOid( Myafiled) at all . I am and few more(and I think F5 can vouch on this in CUP), whom have done weed , Cocaine etc.(drivers), its not new. IE The K9 dog whom roams thru Phoneix at all the transporters etc..
Sorry I dont like the SOB at all, never have. Thats honest. But as I said I do not want ANYONE, driver, CC, Crewmember FUBARED when my ass is on a line..
Out of the shop for the weekend in a few and thank god.. Sleeping, breathing and having somewhat of a normal life for 2 days.. Its going to be good with someone:)
