Busch wins Bristol
Kyle Busch ended his slump of bad luck with a win at Bristol, holding off Mark Martin.
Martin led the most laps but came in second. He actually did get alongside Busch, but got a little loose and being the gentleman racer he is, he backed off so as not to wreck both of them out. I've seen Martin save loose cars before, so I have to wonder what would have happened if he had kept pushing hard instead of backing off, could he have gotten by Busch or would Busch still have won?
The double-file restarts didn't pose huge problems like some thought it would. I think that if the track hadn't been repaved, adding the second groove, it would have added a lot of carnage, but it really didn't add any additional problems.
The win and problems with others, keeps Busch within reach of the Chase, although as of now he is still out. He does still have to worry about how Kenseth does and also Vickers, who is only 5 points behind Busch.
Your thoughts?

Yep, great job Carl. You crash on Saturday before you can even take the green flag. Then you get lucky on Sunday when Marcos makes his one mistake of the day. Not a shot!!

Very true Aggster,
The older Lears are especially small and cramped. Seen some of these CUP jets, usually old smaller models. Horrible, just horrible what these drivers have to contend with on travel arrangements. I've heard that some of the poorly funded teams will pay for their drivers to fly on another teams private jet. Sad the state of CUP affairs when a team can't afford a private jet.
Other,
Watched the last of NW race. Funny when Ambrose commented about the driving ability of some of the drivers. Mentioned USAC rules would require a driver to park if he/her spun twice in a race. Most of the NW drivers looked like amateurs out there. What am I saying, it's the JV league.

I feel so bad for Ambrose. Really wanted him to win. Sure was a lot of beating and banging going on.

Congrats to Carl Edwards & team on their win Montreal.
Good job by Marcos A. who was on the pole,
ended up 2nd. and he dominated the race
today.

"It's an off weekend for many of NASCAR's top drivers, but Kyle Busch isn't getting much rest."
OMG
it's so much more hard to you know sleep on a lear jet between races than wonder about the next meal for the kids or school clothes or food or a house payment or gas money.

money has been the deciding fctor for years.
one word... howdy holmes.
he was sponsored by the manufacturer of Jiffy mix baking mix, which was invented by his grandmother, Mabel White Holmes
later, local company dominoes pizza. i'm guessing dominoes bought tons of flour and... well you get the picture.
of course dominoes did much better after they hired a real driver, a young kid straight outta the albuquerque desert... Al Unser Jr.
back then you didn't need granny, just being a hot shoe did the trick.
now days not so much.

I just don't think a switch from a carb to EFI is going to entice a new manufacture into the sport. They won't be using their own EFI system just like they don't use their own carb now.
As far as fuel mileage goes, I had a 83 Nissan Sentra with a 1.6 carb engine that got better mpg then my other 87 Sentra 1.6 EFI.

efi and the electronics should make things interesting on the track, dyno room and track

exile, thanks for your story. Sounds like you lost a parent at a young age and then were treated badly by your partner. Same thing has happened to me and both hurt like hell. Hope I'm strong enough to survive as you have. Glad you have your little girl to help you through the bad days.

you have gone through a lot. that happened to me when i was 17. it made me angry to hear, i know how you feel. when i heard that i wanted to scream, no you don't know how i feel asshole. about all i can addd to that is it's a very sad part of life. and, hang in there day by day.
the 7 year old's first step dad, the crackhead, used to tell her hey you can forget popi because he's old and will be dead by the time you grow up. of course i would have liked to have shoved him down the staris by accident. but then i would not be around. so i prayed he would get back on the pipe and go away. well that worked out just fine. so, i tell the 7 year old that some day i will go away because we all do sooner or later. remember what i teach you about living. be the best you can be. and we all meet up some day in heaven and will be together forever. she said popi, ozzy will be there with us. yes sweetie even though we buried ozzy in the backyard he will be in heaven. popi can we go to the humane society today and get another black cat like ozzy. anyway dawn sorry to intrude on your business. if i'm outta line feel free to tell me off.

aggie,
No offense to KK or KH they both are good
drivers. Talk about whinning they all have
at one time or another and I don't blame
KH it's not his fault for what's happening
at RCR. As you know Shell Oil is Karvick's
sponsor and their contract is up at RCR at
the end of 2010. It remains to be seen what
will happen at RCR next season but if things
doesn't improve that means KH & his sponsor
Shell Oil w/be available for 2011.

GA,
Sex sells!
Kentucky needs to rehire Eddie Sutton this time in the capacity as AD to return the ethics to the U of KY BB program.
Aggster,
Big Rick made the comment he knows where BK is, in so many words indicated he'd reach out to him at the right time. The MM ride just possibly may be available after 2010 or Junior will be driving for Tony. Enough time for BK to get his feet wet and then transfer to Superman's equipment.
K2,
RCR is a train wreck. Gone from three in the CHASE last year to probably nada this one. I understand hiccups along the road, but when not a one of your top tier teams is in the CHASE at this point in the season compared to three in 2008, somethings more serious than just we're having a bad year.
Haven't seen this radical turn of events for what used to be a top tier org in.......
RC looks troubled. Wonder if he's got the cash to compete with the Big Dogs. Wanted to be like Big Rick, Panama Jack, and Joe by adding that fourth car but it appears the structure of the org couldn't handle that fourth one and the result is, RCR is a train wreck. Plus there's the drama behind the scenes with KH and from a very very reliable source, Clint keeps the stuff stirred.

Kevin Harvick's contract is not up until the
end of 2010. If RCR doesn't perform better
next season then he has this year, I think
Harvick will be moving on. Should Smoke
decide on a 3rd. car for 2011 then Harvick
will be the driver.
On Casey Mears, well, R.C. will give him a
fair chance but if he doesn't show a lot of
improvement next season, he's gone. It's
not that Casey's not a nice person but R.C.
wants a winner also.

The deal with Coach P & his Mistress should be dropped. They played together they should pay together. End of story! Are we so pathetic in this world that we have to continue to drag innocent people through hell (their family & children) just for the media to get ratings? Coach P needs to STFU as well as his Mistress. Now that Coach G of Ky is behind bars we shall hear that story non-stop for months. Forget the fact that my child was in lock-down at school yesterday over FS with a gun the news thought Coach P & Coach G stories were more important. Yea ratings!

aggie, yeah NASCAR is talking about
switching to fuel-injection engines starting
in 2011 so the cars would be more fuel
efficient.
Good to see you back D2. (a big welcome)
Congrats to Ray E. and Erin on their Las

Kenny Wallace said he's going to race four
more years in NASCAR and then he'll hang it
up in NASCAR.
Could Brad K. have signed a short contract
with Penske for 2011 only? Penske has a 23
year old Justin Allgaier in a driver
development deal that he wants to receive
more seat time before promoting him to Cup,
so this could work out for both Penske and
HMS.
Although, I'm pulling for Smoke to win but
I would never count out Chad, J.J. & the 48

Yeah we arm chair crew chiefs and team owners on here are Too funny..
Best drummer alive and ever. NEAL PEART, ……Good to see your rush fan be sure and catch that episode of trailer park boys with alex lifson
Jeff yes he will make the Hall of Fame not a debate. he is right up there with the old timers are far HOF’ers go he is a living legend actually and iam not a fan of his
This is a momentum sport, right now the 5 has it, the 2 has it, the 42 almost has it, Smoke does. Huge momentum sport and the wind can come out of your sails so fast……… just look at the 18 during the chase in 08….kyle who?? Or 99 9 wins and now couldn’t find a win if it punched him in the face
D2 the 5 has shown great patience and Alan G is a pretty good CC, with any driver and iam sure a reason mm is sticking around for another year
48 is a ? well I know u have a massive boner for them LOL……… and iam not grand standing but man their still scarrrrrrrrrrry…….iam just curious if the easy bonuspoints/2 wins they basically gave away will affect them?? Is till think they have this whole chase deal so figured out the rest of you guys are like nba guys in the olds days who just watch MJ score points!!!
The 18 makes the Chase.Goes from 12th place to 3rd place beginning the CHASE ……….let me do some numbers…………maybe they seem like a streaky team and driver……..the 11 is doing a nice job at jgr same with the biff them 2 and jpm are my 3 dark hoses for the chase finals against the 48 or 14 …..those 5 teams
RCR imploding? Something has to give there, like I said RC looked tired on that tv show………..kev and cb look ok on the outside but on the inside its whole different story….cm, who knows, he might end up the best car at rcr and we will have to bow and say ok you were right, so wait till homestead
D2 clue us in on this ……….is hms doing the initial testing on fuel injection for cup motors??

Aggster,
Musta changed their minds about the changes. RCR is imploding. With at least three pretty good drivers you'd think that some of that talent would still be capable of taking mediocre equipment and do something with it. Something's amiss over there. Didn't KH and Richard do some screaming at each other on the headsets at Bristol? Instead of acting like sulking child about RC saying honor your contract, KH might consider the feelings of his sponsor as well as his fans or is it fan.
Gretch,
Your posse don't take kindly to you calling KK The Worm. The truth hurts. Does this mean you'll sign my NASCAR petition to create a Kasey Kahne Free Zone for the Elderly at all the tracks?
