Hamlin wins and Johnson increases points lead
Denny Hamlin held of Jimmie Johnson from the last restart to win at Martinsville. While Johnson came in second, he still increased his points lead and it seems everyone but him is saying he's won the championship.
It was a wreck-filled race with 14 cautions, the last coming on lap 145, which set up the final laps and Hamlin and Johnson side by side. Hamlin was able to pull away, but Johnson was right behind him in the end.
Johnson's lead is 118 points over Mark Martin and while Martin is good, I don't think he can do it, I think the championship has already been won by Johnson, he's just too good in the races left to see him having enough trouble to give Martin the lead.
Congrats again to Hamlin for the win.

I agree with Ryan! Nascar tells us we have the best drivers in the world and then makes up a stupid rule several hours before the race. Pushing through the corners isn't even what brought about the crash last spring it was the yellow line rule! Let them drive!
What is even worse is they told the drivers not to comment after the race. Sure hope Ryan doesn't get fined. He spoke TRUTH TO POWER!
That was pathetic racing today and Nascar knows it. There were even fans in the stands carrying a sign selling NO-DOZ!

That was the sickest race I have ever seen!
Helton makes new rules and Ryan still is almost killed! Every thing Ryan said in his interview was right on!
Mark Martin didn't say anything and that said EVERYTHING!
In the clutch moment for Jimmie...give me a break. No champion rides around in the back all day like a wuss. Get up on the wheel and drive like a man with the rest of the boys!
Just give him the trophy and save gas for the last 3 races. No one is gonna watch this circus anymore!

Way to go Nascar once again.....2 hours before game time,you tell the drivers to be good boys and not touch each other...totally against what makes the damn Dega races good......and turn it into follow the leader....it's like the old restarts single file at 190.A f'n joke....Beer and liquor and thank goodness the NFL is on......

Wow, just read an article about Edwards stating that if he wins, he'll give the trophy to the young lady who suffered facial injuries when he wrecked in the spring race. That's a hell of a gesture. Kudos to him.
I also have to mention that I found it incredible that he jogged to the finish line after that crash. Do people realize what kind of gesture that was, not only physically, but mentally? First it showed a great state of physical fitness, but it also showed (as he added in postrace interviews) the responsibility he took in causing the wreck. Kyle Busch could've done the same thing after he wrecked himself in July, but he didn't learn from Kyle's example.
I'm not an Edwards fan, but he's shown a lot of maturity in the last couple of seasons.

The Daytona Sopranos hate to be criticized, mwrsux. They can't handle the truth. If their product was any good not even the p*ss poor economy would keep fans' butts out of the seats. As it is the fans who are sitting at home are obviously finding something else to do on race day. If I were King Brian I'd drink my face off too.

larry mac, jimmy spencer, and kyle petty sat down and answered a large number of questions about nascars attendence, driver ability, the race car, and nascars ability to change.
attendance is down but nascar's spokeperson said... "quite frankly I'm damn proud of the crowds we've had this year."
spencer, larry, and kyle give an in depth analysis on how bad the new car is and how to fix it for a 1000 bucks.

they also gave many examples of what could be done easily to turn nascrap around.
they take the time to suggest and nascar tries to get them fired... fu nascar.
