Busch wins and Johnson has some bad luck
Congrats to Kurt Busch on the win, their fuel mileage strategy paid off where others fell short and also congrats to the person who picked him and won a million.
Other than the accident on lap 3 and the typical who can make it on fuel, there wasn't much excitement during the race. Johnson being caught up in the lap 3 wreck was a surprise, not because things like that can't happen, it just seems like things like that just don't happen to him. His car was damaged pretty bad and spent almost two hours behind the wall fixing it, he ended up finishing 38th. Mark Martin finished 4th and is now 73 points behind Johnson with two races to go.
I still think it's too late and the championship is Johnson's, if there were more than two races to go maybe, but I think Johnson has got this won.
Your thoughts?

Congrats to Ron Hornaday, Kevin Harvick and
Delana on winning the Truck Series title.
Way to go!
Congrats to Carl Edwards on his win in the
Nationwide Series.
My pick for tomorrow's race are:
48, 14, 5, 24, 42
Dark Horse: 88
Since Edwards won the race Kyle Busch has to
wait until next week to claim his title.

I have a lot of respect for Coach Joe Gibbs and Gibb's Racing, but those three children they have driving for them I have zero respect for. All three of them love to dish it, but cry like babies when anyone gets near them. Denise Hamlin is about a jackass after today's race. He hits Brad to get him out of his way and then acts totally shocked when he gets hit by Brad.
What ever happen to a racing deal, oh that's right, it is a racing deal when Hamlin or Busch or Joey hits someone. LOL

Would you rather here Toby or Rap?Must be alot of rednecks cause dude is doing much better than you and I.
So Horny and Harv won.....whoopty do.
So Keso is the next Swrevin Irvin looks like.He is not making many friends in Cup and oooohhh I likey.Someone needs to grow a set and take Hamlin and Kyle to the woodshed.Hamlin has got to be the biggest blowhard going right now.Acting like a badass. So you think you should have a say so like the 24?Driver please! What have you won?The same as the 18.Take a poll bro and you will find that the 24 has earned that right to represent you candy ass MF'ers.I'm not even a fan of the 24,but you coming out whining like a bitch as usual because the 24 decided to make a request to chill on the bump drafting last week? What a tool.......I'd say wreck Sunday but I have the 11 and 48 in my fantasy picks. But if they have issues, good for 90% of us..........

Yeah that Toby Keiths a smart one. Whats he got a I.Q. of 3. Thats why he is so popular with Rednecks.
He can't sing either. Maybe him and Taylor Swift should do a duet together.

Damn, this blog is a riot when JJ is doing well......

What did the fat singer think she could bitch about the USA killing them towelheads in Iraq. George Bush was so good at killing them muslims he was voted Serial Killer of all United States history. Sarah Palin was doing great bitching about the USA in Hong Kong because she was RIGHT. Yeah we need to kill more people worldwide. Yeah God said go forth and kill them Iraqs. Yeah join up today and go to the Middle East and kill men, women, and children. Yeah we are bad ass and they need to Believe it.

Refreshing from you J2....
Don't call him Mike. His name is Michael, just ask me.And I agree what you say about this president. He missed his real calling.Should have been a host of a sports bar or something. All I have seen is he likes to have sport figures at the White House, have a couple of folks over for a beer to chat about differences and such.Seems Hillary has more balls than he.....
Used to be a Dixie fan untill the short chunky one decided to go Michael Moore on us.Shot ol' Toby Keith popularity through the roof.I'm not a stat boy like Michael, but I'd say Toby has done well himself since that smackdown he gave her....
Swift getting all those awards surely had George Jones and Tammy Wynette reaching for the wisky. She is about as country as Trump having pretty hair........
Been fun, little man just blew chunks again. He is having a bad day and I love day cares.......one gets sick, they all get sick.
Posted by: DJ | Nov 13, 2009 4:34:58 PM
Mike,
I agree this President hasn't been doing so well.
Posted by: Jon2 | Nov 13, 2009 3:56:50 PM
Yep, Dixie Chix are still together and have won 7 grammy awards since they were boycotted by country radio in 2003 for saying they were ashamed the President was from Texas. So, yeah they've been doing fine in popularity. The President...not so much.

No need for JJ to push the envelope at these last two races. Be conservative, be smart, drive careful, stay away from Robby Gordon and Sam Hornish, it's all about strategery. Other past CUP champs have employed the same strategy when they're ahead in the points near the end of the season. Don't get too racy. Protect that lead. Keep the two other contenders in sight but not to close.
Unless a Buck O type or Dottie sings, it isn't Country in my ledger. Saw first part of TS's CMA thing, didn't sing well, seemed nervousy, probably concerned about another Kanye moment.
What ever happened to that plump lil' Chick and the two sisters? Wasn't there a feud between them and a bunch of other Country music artists when the lil' plump Chickie called W a war criminal or something like that? Are they still together?

The Taylor Swift chow sucked, Minus ZBB, Dave M/Kenny Chesney, Sugarland. Daughtry and Vince was awesome..
Jimmy blew the fiddle down..
J2, "darling", glad to see you are still a pompus ass...
Kyle, Kyle, Kurt, great weekend last week.
Jeff B Top 5 this week.
JJ, please show yout true driving ability this week again, can you do it on Lap 2 or just be a wuss and "ride around"..
Please Hornish give me a rewind..
Posted by: D2 | Nov 12, 2009 9:39:37 PM
F5 - I agree in patriotism and song writing Taylor is better than the Dixie Chick. But the poor child (IMHO) can't sing as well.
Go Mark Martin or Smoke this weekend.
Posted by: Dawn | Nov 12, 2009 8:38:59 PM
.....IT'S Phoenix...Dear God I think I'm having an aneurysm!!!
I watched the CMA's and I can say Taylor a fair piece better than that Lil Fat one with the mouth from the Dixie Chicks

Useless News - I'm embarrassed to be a country music fan. Taylor Swift can't sing a lick. Can't believe she won all those awards. Terrible, terrible shame!!!

Has Sammy Sosa gone Wacko Jacko on us? Not according to him. Sosa commented at a Latino conference he's been using a cosmetic cream to soften his skin to look less like an equatorial Latino and that tv & bright lights makes him look lighter as was the purpose for the application.
My pick for Phenix is the Whitest and palest guy in the field, Kyle Busch.
Sammy would be proud.
Taylor Shift? Is this what Country Musics come to? She looks Euroasian with those eyes.
Posted by: Useless News | Nov 12, 2009 2:22:10 PM
Yes Agg...saw a pic of Sosa and the dude looked stupid. His whole face looked wierd and different. Why I ask? Why?World is full of idiots Agg....
Was there a World Series? Your'e right.Came and went.Yeah,I forgot the NHL had started untill I hear the local team has lost 13 straight.Who cares man.Though alot of yankee transplants are into it big time as the arena is always full.
Hell, they could have interviewed me instead of Brian on the state of Nascar for a real opinion.Bitch skirted the questions with answers OJ would have been proud of...a joke he is......
My picks for Phoniex....
71,34,82,36,87...darkhorsies 48,11.

i still cant believe how the world series comes and goes feels like like the nhl's stanley cup finals and you were living in MS or AL or AK
Posted by: aggie | Nov 12, 2009 11:46:00 AM
on the points system yeah iam still ?????? on it
look at the NHL and their point system
a team can tie a game 0-0 loose in a shoot out where they still get 1 for tie
this is mpossible but .........go figure this a team could NOT score all season tie every game 0-0 loose in shoots and get 1 point or 82 for season and almsot make the play off like last year with 90 points
why do these leagues f--k with scoring.....one reason why baseball is such a classic game
Posted by: aggie | Nov 12, 2009 10:03:32 AM

good one lol
hey DJ just when u thought u had heard it all did u see and read where sammy sousa is doing the same thing to his skin as micheal jackson and the guy turning brown and trying to be white now WTF

JJ was not acting like a champion on his scanner Sunday towards his crew. Of course the media will only print & release what they want the public to hear about their "Supermnan" but from what I heard he sounded more like some one wearing pampers. I also seem to recall his interview after the Dega race & he said the crashes were exciting, wonder if he still feels that way? Karma????

Dawn Darling,
Anytime you feel the need to discuss anything with me, you go right ahead. I respect the comments and concerns of anyone who lives in Hoosierdom.
F#5,
If your referring to the gambling city, I believe it's Vegas and not Vega's. Perhaps Dawn might shed some light on this matter.

I Hate being the Grammer Police J2 BUT it is 4 in a Row Not 4 in a Roll thats Vega's or Bagels or something.

Factoid:
If there was no stupid Chase Smoke would be the points leader. Too bad nobody has the power to fire Brain France for screwing things up.

"You know he may become a 4 in a row, but all I will remember is how much of panzy ass NON racer he was at Dega." by DJ
Four in a roll...satan's abode, The King recently said JJ could win seven in a roll. 'course JJ taking the humble route said not likely but the point is some respect his talent that much to make that sort of statement.
That "panzy ass" driver you're referring to finished sixth at 'dega. It's all about big pitcher racing and strategerizing. Smart strategy on his part since he's had a lotta bad luck at 'dega. 'course that aspect wouldn't dawn on most since they tend not to be objective when it comes to JJ.

Where ya been BOB??Your boy finally had issues and you weren't the first few to bost?Oh yeah,he had problems. So the blogs are next are they for the drunkard Brian to get on folks about hate'n on how he has turned the sport into bullshit?Ooops BOB,hope I didn't offend you with that potty language?Hopefully he doesn't read your blog posts becuase he would get absolutely nothing on how to make the sport better.Let's see, maybe 10 posts, all after JJ has his moments.....you hate on the bloggers for speaking their loathing for a drab champion....you get return fire asking just what the hell you bring to the plate and then crickets.......
Your boy should still get the Cup.Pretty smart for someone to take full advantage of the Chase format. He does well for the final 10 races and the others that have dominated the sport for 26 races start to fall off the pace and or have issues.
You know he may become a 4 in a row,but all I will remember is how much of panzy ass NON racer he was at Dega.At least the others got in the mix from time to time and gave the fans a show.He is without a doubt the most paper champion in the history of any sport.
The real deal is he will be put in a catogory of great drivers in an era of the new Chase format,in which he was behind, untill the final 10 races. You take a poll of real Nascar fans, not your johnny come latelys...and he will never be placed in the same cat as Cale,Pearson,Big E,the Allisons,or Petty. On Paper he will go down as one of the most successful drivers and to some that is all that matters.Just trying to figure out what kinda fans actually pull for him.I would have loved to have seen him back in the day competeing.
But he is the man today.....and things sure look great for the sport don't they?????
You can bet the biggest cheer of the whole year in Cup was when the 48 crashed.Enough said on what folks think of your guy........

Brian France SUX. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
It's still Puffs' chase to lose , but I really enjoyed that lap 3 mishap.
And it's gotta suck big stinkin monkey balls to be a 4 time ( in a row ) champ and the 4th most popular driver in your organization...of four.
Posted by: Gretchen | Nov 10, 2009 7:20:47 PM
Brain France is in serious denial. Killing the messenger is a stupid approach to addressing your problems. Insulting the intelligence of the fans doesn't help either.
NASCAR doesn't get to define their brand. Their paying customers do. More and more of NASCAR's customers aren't buying what they're selling. We can clearly see that by the attendance numbers that are dropping like a rock along with the TV ratings.
Brain France is slowly but surely killing the Golden Goose he was handed.
Posted by: Barb G | Nov 10, 2009 12:34:54 PM
Aggster,
Little criticism okay but too much can get the Powers that Be as in this case the country of France a bit antsy. A sports org has input on who broadcasts them so I'm certain some dudes got a heads up. Skinner, Kyle P, and another guy, all also NASCAR TV broadcasters, recently talked about NASCAR's shortcoming to a newsp reporter so France put a shot across their bow.
Looks like they rushed Tony S out there to back France's statement the races aren't boring so shut up. Corporate Tony S now. Understands the bitching drives sponsors away. Being an owner puts a different perspective on things.
Posted by: Jon2 | Nov 10, 2009 9:47:28 AM
Go see France's article on this site where he says again he doesn't want criticism by the folks on TV. Won't be long till he goes after the blogs.
Posted by: Bob Beeman | Nov 10, 2009 8:34:11 AM
France said he did not contact any officials from ABC or ESPN about last weekend's Talladega broadcast.
He also noted he did not see the entire race.

"The difference is in the access that the population has in the ability to comment on it with the Internet and everything else,'' said Lee White, president and general manager of Toyota Racing Development. "People never had that before.''
lol
sure
considerating it was 11 years ago when i got a computer and started to surf the net and there were a couple jillion who were already on the internet i gotta call this...
BullSh*t
toyodo drops f1 cause all that jap engineering can't kick some little ol french, english, and italian car companies azz with a fraction of the staff and engineering budget.
maybe toyodo had to pull f1 engineers off the team to try to figure out how to hold a freakin floor mat in place.
anyway, hey it's the internets stupid not the racing.

I love reading Rob Quillen's Race Journal and had to share some. Keep in mind he says these are from a slightly dimented view:
You know that Gillette commercial where the drivers are trying to say their lines, but keep messing it up? There’s one part where Clint Bowyer gets interrupted by Kyle Busch walking through and talking on his cell phone. Do you think Kyle is leaving himself a voicemail? If you didn’t get that joke, you will the next time you see the commercial.
David Ragan’s car was painted like Mark Martin’s old Viagra car today. Seems only appropriate that the word “UPS” was on the side.
The 48 was in the garage for over an hour today getting repairs done to it from the accident on lap three. It wouldn’t have taken that long to fix it, but the crew members from the 24 and 5 that came over to help kept breaking more things.
Best Twitter during the race and it came from a very-little-known person in the NASCAR world: “I bet Superman just crapped in his Jimmie Johnson PJs.”
It was cool to see the Richard Petty car out there again today. Except that the number was 44. And it was a Ford. And the driver of the car didn’t have a last name of Petty. Other than that, it was cool to see it on the track.
During a late pit stop, the 47 came in and added a “packer” to the shock. Why not try it? Adding a “Packer” seems to be helping the Minnesota Vikings a lot.
How amazing is it that the 48 wrecked 16 times today. Oh wait a minute, I get it now, ABC just kept showing the wreck over and over and over…I guess that’s one way to stop them from showing Ryan Newman’s Talladega wreck over and over and over again.
On one of the final restarts, it was said on TV that the 18 “outfoxed” his brother in the 2 car. How did he do that? Did he roll down his window and scream, “You let me lead on this restart or I’m gonna tell Mom on you!!”
There is an old saying, “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.” I have my own saying when the Busch brothers are fighting for a victory: “When two Busches are fighting for the lead, give them one bird.”
And finally, my weekly picks article may be a bit late this week as I’ll be heading out of town for a get-away with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. We have been married 14 years already. My wife really says it best when she says that it feels like it has only been 15 minutes….under water.

Yes, I believe JJ still has it locked up, but at least the events at Texas will make everyone who dozed off wake up and have a reason to pay attention again. Just like people who buy lottery tickets, there's always that teeny tiny chance that something completely against-all-odds could happen.
