NBC NASCAR Sting?

It seems to be all over the web about a another supposed Dateline undercover operation, this time using Muslims and filming how they are treated at a NASCAR event.  You can read about it here and updates here, but its all over blogs around the web right now.  And a national radio show host emailed NBC about it and NBC supposedly confirmed that they are looking into it, but wouldn't commit to anything about dates or such.

NASCAR has tried to get its image away from the "redneck" image that most non-fans have of the sport, but everyone knows that most that don't understand anything about the sport or its fans think we're all racists and now NBC and Dateline want to show that we are all anti-Muslim.

This taping is supposedly going to happen on the April 8th weekend events, which is at Texas Motor Speedway according to the second email that was sent out.  The first email said the date was April 1st weekend, but a second one was sent out a few days later to name the April 8th date.

What do you think?  Hoax or is NBC trying to show everyone how intolerant NASCAR fans are?

*I tried emailing a PR person for NBC about this and they are out of the office for today and won't be in until tomorrow.  If I do receive anything from them, I will update this post.
