Time Off

Bristol weekend has come and gone.  I am glad we survived, even if we did end up 33rd!  I am looking forward to some warmer weather, and Martinsville weekend is suppose to be beautiful.

I hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend.  Ryan and I were able to finally spend some time at home with family and the dogs.  We had a pretty busy week after Bristol trying to play catch up from being gone.  Saturday was the first day I have been able to sit out on our porch and read a good book!  Of course- Ryan was fishing, it was such a nice day here in NC. Saturday night we were able to get down to Charlotte with Martin Truex, Sherry Pollex and some of Sherry's family to attend Larry the Cable Guy's stand up show. I think we laughed for four hours straight.

Easter was at our house and we remained pretty low key.  We had some of my family over for dinner and the boys got to fish all day.  I always eat way too much when we have family functions!  Today was back to work, but it seems less stressful because we have been home for awhile.  Tomorrow I am off to meet with the Humane Society of Lexington in Kentucky.  Then Ryan and I will head to Martinsville some time Thursday evening.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend.  I will be back to blog after Martinsville.  I told Ryan I hope he wins me the Martinsville race, I really like the Grandfather clock! :)

All my best,
Krissie

I was glad we survived Bristol too! Things were looking so promising, even after the spin, til Mr. Labonte came along, gotta love my Texas boy though! :)

Sounds like yall had a wonderful time off, glad things slowed down for the both of you!Glad Easter was nice! Easter was actually nice here, but prior to, there were major storms.... don't like tornado weather here, I'm praying we don't have any this April at the track... That wasn't pretty last year!

Be safe in Kentucky and be safe at Martinsville.... I do really really hope you get that clock!!!! Good Luck!!

Hey Sissie!
I want to apologize for not commenting before now. I'm so excited you are writing a blog on here to keep me & the rest of your many fans in the loop. ;) We had a great Easter and glad to hear the same for you! I, of course, ate way too much but there is no food better than a meal prepared with love. I think Dorothy from the "Wizard of Oz" had it right there is no place like home and I'm sure you and Ryan enjoyed having some time off to rest and relax and play with the babies! I'm happy you, Ry, MT, & Sherry were able to go and hang out with one another away from the track. Larry is soo funny and laughter is always the best medicine! If you see any puppies in Kentucky that need me you can bring them home to me. (heehee) Although I know I'm not allowed to keep them. ;) I'm glad Martinsville is this weekend hopefully I will be able to see you there. Ryan has had that race won so many times and let me tell you, last October a majority of the fans only stayed at the end in hopes that he would. I'm sure you could hear through their many "boos" the disappointment of the one that did win (again). This race belongs to you guys so go ahead and a clean spot out in the living room for the new clock! The rest of the family says "hello" and the doggies send their tail wags & slurps of kisses! Looking forward to the next post! Much Love, Roxy

Enjoy the hotdogs this weekend. They are the best thing about going to Martinsville!

I was happy to read that you and Ryan had some relaxing time at home. I sure am jealous you got to see Larry the Cable Guy...he certainly is on my list if he come to the Chicagoland area.

Good Luck in Martinsville this weekend!!!

It seems that Ryan and Martin Truex Jr are pretty close friends. They seem to have very similar personalities. With Truex and Earnhardt Jr being close friends, does Ryan and Dale hang out much?

Krissie,
Glad to hear y'all had a wonderful Easter. It is always nice when you can find the time to enjoy a beautiful day with a good book (of course that sometimes proves tough at my house between my husband & 2 sons ; )

Enjoyed watching "Nascar Confidential" starring Ryan on Easter Sunday.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that he brings you home the new clock!!! I wished Bristol would've been better but oh well I guess it could've been worse ; ( The team that can work through adversity will be the champions so it's not over by far !!!

Good Luck this weekend & see ya in 2 wks at Texas!!!!

Hey Krissie,
Glad to hear you guys some re-coop time!!

To bad about Bristol, Ryan seemed to have a great car.

I completely understand about eating to much. I was honestly in pain after Easter dinner at my in-laws.

I am really interested in hearing what is going on with different Humane Society things. In fact I wouldn't mind writing something up about it for my site if you would like to get a hold of me.

I could put out as much information related to what you are working on that you would like. If your interested just drop me a line.

Krissie I too would love the clock!!!
I am so glad that you and Ryan were able to relax this last weekend! I saw Ryan in Vegas and kept telling him to smile so I could get a picture of him looking at me and he told me to join the fan club and I would get to see alot of him smiling. I guess since I am 6 months pregnant he didn't reconize me!I told him I have been a member for years!!! LOL
I missed you at the autograph session! Hopefully you were having tons of fun!
Thanks so much for taking time to "update us" it really in nice of you!
Jamie

I thought Ryan had that clock won a couple of years ago until his "teammate' started wrecking him. Hope to see you going through the tunnel this weekend and Hope Ryan gets the win.
I suppose he will end up fishing up at Philpott Lake. Tell him he needs to think about Briery Creek when Richmond comes around. It is about 1 1/2 hr. from the track but the Bass are Big there and plenty of them.

Krissie, Just wanted to say thanks to both you and Ryan for being such positive role models in the Nascar community! You seem to relate so easily to the fans, not just Ryan's fans but all Nascar fans. My 7 year old son got me hooked on watching Nascar and we attend both of the races at TMS each year. We would love to see you and Ryan do an appearnace close to TMS. My son has got to meet a few of the drivers and he talks about it for weeks afterwards. He idolizes the Nascar drivers. He knows what driver drives what car number and what team they drive for. I constantly step over race cars on his homemade race tracks! Best of luck to Ryan for the rest of the season! And again thanks for being such great role models! Look forward to seeing Ryan race at TMS!

Krissie,

It's nice to know that you and Ryan got to have a weekend off and spend some time at home. Can you tell me when Ryan is on Nascar Confidential? I had heard he was one of the drivers that would be doing that and I haven't been able to watch it yet. I have been a member of the fan club for 5 years now, ever since I started watching racing and you and Ryan have always been very nice and welcoming to the fans. Thank you for that, it is nice when you appreciate the fans, because there are plenty of sports that don't, this is the reason I am a big Nascar fan.

It is nice to see your blogs every week and to hear what is going on with you and Ryan at the track and outside the track. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to keep us updated. Good luck with winning th grandfather clock this weekend, we all have the confidence that Ryan can do it.

Thanks for your well wishes. Ryan will be signing on Saturday in Martinsville at 3pm. He will be at his merchandise trailer and tickets will be handed out earlier Sat. morning I believe.

In Texas he and I will be signing Pit Road Pets books at the Petfinder.com tent some time that Saturday. I will post info when it is more defined.

We are going to try some new recommended places to eat while in Martinsville this weekend! We love to find new-off the beaten path places to eat.

And if Ryan wins the clock, I would be more than happy to take a picture of it in the house and post it!

Have a great week/weekend!

Good luck to the Alltel team this weekend in Martinsville. Lets hope Ryan stays in the car better than he did in the boat this week.

Good ole martinsville. Thats the roots for me. I soooo hope he comes away with the clock. I have been there to see the pole but now I am all about him gettin that "W" now.

I cant believe I am not at this race this weekend. Traditionally, in my long nascar history :) this is where I always start my season out. Not this year but I will be representin up in here in amish country where apparently snow is STILL in season.

Glad you enjoyed your easter holiday and had time to just chill. As for Larry the cable guy....flippin hilarious. He is always bound to have you in stitches.

I REALLY hope that come sunday, yall are rollin out with a clock in hand. I did try to use my powers of persuasion on da man in order to get him to roll out on an impromptu road trip to martinsville. We see how that went as I sit here typin on da blog. I shoulda just planned it, but was tryin to hold out to try atleast one new track this year. Good luck have fun and until the next blog......hollllaaaa

Are you going to be with him at the Petfinder tent at Texas? It would be nice to see you there too! Please don't forget to post the time he'll be there Saturday.. Maybe Tim will post if I miss it here!

And what if yall have already signed my pet road book, will he sign something else? Or only that? Just checking! :)

Hi Krissie,
So glad you got some family time for Easter. Its really important to keep up with family no matter how hectic life can be. Unfortunately, Dan's Coast Guard job hasn't afforded us the time or in our younger years, the money to keep going home for the holidays. That said, we always made it a point to include the single military members that could fit around our table.

OH, and I wished I would have read your blog a bit earlier. Lexington is only an hour away from where we live. When we first moved here, we were kind of itching to possibly fill a void where our Welsh Corgi and Russian Blue kitty once were. We went to the shelter here in town and I was utterly disgusted at the conditions. I actually prayed that they didn't get any 'occupants'. It would be nice if the state clamped down on these shelters.

Do you ever see any Pembroke Welsh Corgis at shelters or humane societies? I tell ya, if ever you're looking for a very unique doggie, THEMZ the one!! LOL Personality from the get go. When our son leaves the Army, he's mentioned something about being a 'Corgi Rancher'. Now, I've seen one in action; could only imagine the non stop comedy.

Tell Ryan to drive safe but drive to win. We'll be routin' for him in Taylorsville, KY.

Hi Krissie,

Thank you for taking the time to write these blogs. You and ryan are truely a blessing to all of racing fans! I would love to meet you sometime, maybe at MIS. I go there for both races and am there pretty much from Wed. thru Sunday. We even waited for the race on Tuesday last August! Die hard race fans I guess. :) I have been blessed to get Ryan's autograph a few times now and chat with him a bit. He really is down to earth. He sure did make my day in August duing qualifying, that put a big smile on my face! I just love hearing about how you guys love and take care of your dogs. I have a Golden Retriever and Black Lab. My Golden had puppies on Jan. 18th. 13 but only 11 made it. We are selling the last one today! They sure were a good looking litter. Just like their mom. :) You can view pics at the Nascar community site (lilredsunday) or at my myspace. (myspace.com/crazyracingfan12) I posted pics just after they were born on up to the last pup left. What fun but a lot of work!! Thanks again for taking the time with all of us crazy fans. Take care and God Bless!! Alicia
