In the Air

There is something different in the air of the garage area for the All Star race.  Maybe it is because there is not point pressure and the crew guys are highlighted as the main focal point than just the drivers.  Whatever it is, it happens to be one of my favorite races of the year.  I still think back to the year Ryan won.  How Jr came out of nowhere and I thought for sure we were going to finish second.  The endings are so exciting and the race is so short you can't help but stay excited for the entire thing.  Not to mention it is a night race and I love night racing.  I think Nascar should have all the races be night races (preferably Saturday night races) and format them similar to the All star race.  I wonder how the chase would shake out then?

Ryan and I got to go see the Pit Crew challenge last night and cheer our guys on.  I almost think we were a jinx because we did not make it (due to traffic) until the 2nd round and then they lost to the 99 team.  It was fun to watch the guys in action and have a night that solely focused on the crew guys and their abilities.  I was so nervous watching them.  I really wanted to go help them push the car to the finish line!

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Krissie,

I agree with you on the Pit Crew Challenge. I saw you and Ryan there last night, what did you do to your arm, you had a brace on? I think it is great to have the Pit Crew Challenge and totally focus on the crews and all the hard work they do every year. I was really rooting for the Alltel team. Especially because my oldest daughter is a 99 Fan and we share a room, so I had to listen to her after they beat the Alltel team.

I would love to see the races go to Saturday night races. I have been hoping that Michigan would make one of their races a night race. I have never been to a night race, yet, but I love to watch them. Plus night races kind of give you guys a little more time off and time at home with those beautiful dogs you two have.

Tell Ryan and the Alltel team good luck tomorrow, I will be cheering them all on from home.

Hey Krissie ~

I love the All Star Race !!! It is really nice to see that it is a focus on the entire team as a whole. I wished that the Alltel crew would have pulled it out - I was cheering them on from my couch, screaming and my son kept telling me, "Mom they can't hear you!" (well duhh! I know but I get so excited)

I like night racing as well and being in TX it is much nicer in the evening than mid-afternoon I have to say.

Good Luck - will be watching (& screaming I am sure)

Hey Krissie,

You mentioned that you were caught in traffic which delayed your attendance. While the sparks flying are cool on the track, it is not fun in traffic after any race. Nite races are the worse. Not to mention the affect sat races may have on the local tracks.

Also wondered bout' your wrist.

Hope that you can keep ALL of your "PAWS" at Penske.

I think it's fun to watch the Pit Crews, I'm glad they started that! I hate that the Alltel Gang couldn't pull another win out this year, but they gave it their best! That's all we can ask for! That Red Bull team was pretty awesome! I love Saturday night racing too! It just seems to be more exciting!
Yall have a great weekend! Goodluck in the Allstar race!

....."How Jr. came out of nowhere and I thought we were going to finish second".We? Since when does NA$CAR use co-drivers?
As for saturday night racing, what are you trying to do? Are you trying to put all the local dirt tracks out of business?

Krissie, I'm with you on the Night races, except when it is miserable cold, like Bristol was this spring and Martinsville. We do Richmond, Martinsville and Lowes and the night racing at RIR and Charlotte are the Best.
And I understand the We thing as it is your other half there and you can see more what is happening both beside and behind than the driver can. Love seeing you, as well as Kim Burton on the occasions they focus on your enthusiasm during the race.
Sorry for Trent and the team, but they put out a valiant effort.
Too many cookies for them or not enough?
Hope to see you at the 600 from High in Turn 1.

Ohhh I had a blast at the allstar race. It is also one of my favorite races of the year. There is definitely something different in the air all around.

This year was my very 1st pit crew challenge and it was an awesome lil spectacle. We barely made it for the 1st round because the traffic was so bad.

It is great night for the pit crews to get that much deserved recognition. I too wanted to hop down and give them a lil push

Although I do support the local dirt tracks it doesnt take away from the fact that I love a nascar night race. racing under the lights has a different energy and one that I think a lot of fans enjoy

You guys seemed to have a great good car for the All Star race. At least Ryan will know what needs to be done to get the car ready for the 600. Have a great week at home and good luck on Saturday.
