Update

Wow!  I would have never guessed my last blog would have gotten so much attention.  Ryan has made his decision and we are working on the final details.  I am hoping we will have an announcement by Michigan or Bristol.  I know there is a lot of anticipation building but until the details are finalized there is really no point in saying anything.  Throughout this whole process we have learned a lot.  One of the main things is there is no guarantee until the paperwork is signed.  Deals fall through all the time at the last minute.

The incident with the reporter from ESPN has gotten a little out of control.  The thing that irritates me the most is that he contacted Ryan's PR person for a comment from Ryan and when he wrote his story, he did not include the quote.  My point- if a reporter is going to speculate they should say that is what they are doing, not to write it as a fact. It leads to assumptions and you know what they say about people who assume.  But hey, I guess that is what they feel they need to do to "get a story" before it is announced.  Needless to say, I am over it.

Pocono weekend was a lot of fun.  My Mom and Dad had a cookout with friends and family when we arrived.  I spent some time at Moyer's Country Kitchen, but did not work as much as I should have.  I spent most of my time flying with friends, Dave and John.  Dave took myself, my mother and our friend Michelle into NYC on his helicopter.  It was one of the most interesting trips I have ever been on.  Growing up in NJ I have been into the city quite a bit.  But I have never seen the city from this perspective and it was beautiful.  I only wish the race were that exciting!

We are off to Watkins Glen this weekend and Ryan will be running in the Nationwide race on Saturday in addition to the Cup race on Sunday.  There will be no announcement this weekend, but we promise as soon as the deal is finalized there will be a formal announcement.  Sorry I can't give any hints!

Krissie,
We won't pressure you for the announcement as long as you seal it with a big "Bow Tie"!!
Love ya!

Can't wait to hear where Ryan is going. No matter I will always be a fan. He is the reason I actually go into Nascar! Still hoping it is one of my picks which would be Stewart-Haas or RCR. I think both of them would be great choices. What would even make this sweeter is if UPS would be his sponosr! Well best of luck this weekend in both races.

Hey Krissie thanks for the update, I cannot wait till Ryan announces his plans for next year. It is exciting to see that Ryan is going to run the Nationwide race this weekend, he does well in the series so hopefully we can see him in victory lane on Saturday as well as Sunday. Good luck this weekend!!!

Posted by: Steve | Aug 7, 2008 12:36:06 PM

I can't wait to hear where Ryan is going to end up. I too am hoping for him to land behind the wheel of a Chevy. The two top choices as a fan I would love to see him at RCR or at the newly founded Stewart-Haas. Just the thought of a reunion with Matt Borland is exciting in itself. I will still root for Ryan no matter where he goes or what he drives though. Wish you both the best in the coming weeks.

Thank you Krissie---
I can only imagine what you must think of us! LOL! We are just excited.
I am looking forward to the Nationwide race this weekend too! Ryan in it makes it far more fun to watch! Plus the fact that he likes the course makes it a good weekend all around.
Looking forward to your announcement.... When it happens it will be great! Have a great weekend and good luck to Ryan!

Congrats to you and Ryan for the choice that was reached. Yeah Ryan! Sounds like you had some nice down time after all you've been through. Time with family and friends is great medicine to relieve stress (well most of it anyway). We are going camping this weekend in the Catskill Mountains south of Albany NY. My 6 year old just loves camping/fishing/hiking, etc. It will be my other son (Ryan) first time. He is only 15 months, so I'm alittle nervous that it will be a sleepless weekend ie cranky mommy and baby!!!

I saw an interview with Ryan when he was in Michigan getting a tour of Mill Lake Youth Camp and he said that kids need to get out into nature. My 6 year old went fishing on a boat the other day for 4 hours. We couldn't believe that he actually could do it for that long. Kids can't sit still, but he was catching fish, so that helped!

Good luck at the Glen!

Hey Krissie, that for the update. It is killing me not knowing. No matter what, I will still follow him. Great..lol, now I am going have to buy new stuff ( a good thing). While at Sonoma, I bought my daughter size 18 month onesie..humm not sure if she is going to be able to wear before the season is over. Oh, well just an excuse to buy her more clothes..hehe.
I wish you both the best of luck. Wow, Ryan is racing in the Nationwide this weekend..cool. I will be glued to the TV along with checking in on the Olympics..oh..speaking of which..lol..humm..Nascar in the Olympic..could be interesting.
GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND. I hope Ryan win the Sprint race. Well better yet, how about a double win :)

Krissie:

Will both you and Ryan be at the ball game on Friday night?

I am excited to hear that Ryan will be racing now on Saturday. I am looking forward to attending the race on Sunday and seeing Ryan picture perfect in victory lane with the Kodak Dodge! Have a great race weekend!

Posted by: florian | Aug 7, 2008 3:40:09 PM

Thanks for the update Krissie. I told my husband (Ken) that Ryan would probably announce his decision in Michigan. I hope so, because we too are anxious to hear his decision. We will be in Michigan for the race and Ryan Newman Fan Club Day. We are getting excited and getting our suitcases packed. See you and Ryan next week. This will be the 3rd year in a row we based our vacation plans around Ryan's Fan Club Day. We are REAL fans.

Hey Krissie,

While wishing you both the best, we hope that the bridge is not burned.

Maybe the stars will bring you back to the Penske fold someday.

Be well.

Posted by: Larry | Aug 7, 2008 4:05:42 PM

Krissie, thanks for taking a little time out of your schedule to interact with both your and Ryan's fans. The personal perspective you give is refreshing. Too bad you can't really way all the things you wish you could. Just part of the price of being in the spotlight I guess. We likely can't even imagine the frustration you, Ryan, and other celebrities deal with.

Anyway... I was a Team Penske fan and in a way inherited Newman as one of my favorite drivers when Mayfield left Penske. Over the years though, Newman became my favorite driver at Penske and I eventually became just a Newman fan and not so much of a Team Penske fan (especially after Rusty retired).

I'll stick with Ryan wherever he goes, but I sure hope it's over to RCR since that is now my favorite team. I would be in hog heaven to have Newman join Harvick, Burton (my favorite veteran driver) and Bowyer. Either way, I'll be sure to blog about Ryan's move over at OneBadWheel. Best of luck to you both with the decision and contracts. So long as you're both happy with the choice, then that's all that matters!

Be sure to put Ryan in a good mood this weekend for me. I'm planning to use him in several of my fantasy games. :D

Thanks again for sharing!

Thanks for the update Krissie! I am sure it is a relief for you and Ryan to be so close to the decision being announced. Years ago, I picked Ryan as my favorite driver because I had just got a new phone, from Alltel. It was my rookie season as a fan so I didn't know what the heck to look for in a driver/team! :) But I've stuck with Ryan because of all the good both he and you do, how he is competitive but not arrogant, and well, the sweet sparkle in his blue eyes doesn't hurt either! I am excited for his new adventure! Please wish him luck for this weekend at the Glenn.

Posted by: Jamey | Aug 7, 2008 4:51:56 PM

Yes!
Newman is running the nationwide race. That gives me a reason to watch on Saturday.
Finally.

I hope he runs more Nationwide races as this will give me a reason to watch on Saturdays.
But this is ESPN so I do not expect any Newman air play as this network in particular is famous for showing only Junior, Gordon, Johnson and Edwards so I do not expect anything different.

I am so happy a decision is made and I am waiting patiently for the announcement.

Thank you so much for taking time to address the fans and keeping us informed on what's going on in 09. You two treat us fans well, so we will always return the favor.

Congratulations on your new found popularity in the blogging world. Unlike some of the other wives/girlfriends you are actually interesting and easy to identify with. Your blogs are fun to read.
Keep up the good work.

Good luck to the 12 team at the Glen and this time please stay off the kitty litter (gravel trap). LOL!

Hi Krissie,

Thanks for the update! I would be thrilled if Ryan made his annoucement at MIS!! Me being from MI and all, it would be great! I can't wait til fan day. I am going to bring one of my dad's fishing pole my mom gave me last year. He passed away two years ago June. He was an avid fisherman and when I was younger, I went fishing with him a lot. I haven't used this pole yet. So I figured this would be a good time to try it out.
I am going to New York in Oct. with our church choir. Actually, we will be going to the Brooklyn Tab. Church. I am so excited. I have never been to New York so I am anxious to see so many things!
What a blessing for you to have that time with family and friends.
I hope Ryan does well this weekend. At least I will be able to watch it on tv. The last two weekes I had to listen to the race on the radio due to vacationing.
My son, Nick went into the Airforce on Tuesday. I have been having a bit of time dealing with that! And now we might have to put our black lab down. It has been quite a week. :( God Bless the two of you and may God grant Ryan speed and safety at the Glen. (a win or top 5 finish would be awesome)!

Posted by: Alicia | Aug 7, 2008 5:36:20 PM

Krissie, Thank you so much for keeping us fans up to date. You and Ryan are so down to earth, and I believe that is why Ryan and you have such a dedicated fan base. You treat us fans as friends, and make yourselfs very approachable. I am 41 years old, and 5 years ago I met Ryan for the 1st time (he was the 1st famous person I actually spoke with), and now here we are packing for MI and the fan club day in 2008. See you soon, have a great weekend and thanks, just for being yourselfs, as well as what you do for the animals. **We have 4 dogs, our youngest is a 1yr old Yellow Lab, guess what we named him.....Newman. Have a great weekend, good luck Ryan.

Posted by: DJ Shep | Aug 7, 2008 6:12:58 PM

Ha ha! That is funny. I met Ryan for the first time some years ago while I was working for Alltel and have been a fan since. I love that y'all are such animal lovers. We are as well.... We have a cat named Newman, and a puppy named Ryan. Of course we have a Smoke and Stewart as well. Wonder if that is an omen???? Guess we will see huh? :)

Posted by: Kimm Baker | Aug 7, 2008 6:25:12 PM

Thanks for the update, Krissie. It's got to be a relief that the decision making process is over and all that's left is fine tuning the contract. What fun to go to NYC in a helicopter! It must be quite the view. Have a fun weekend at the Glen and we're looking forward to seeing Ryan race twice. Of course, I have to listen to the race on the radio because I'm boycotting ESPN until Rusty apologizes. No apology, no watch! It's good that you're over the ESPN reporter "thing"! They are just showing us they're a credible sports news source--NOT! Enjoy fan club day. Some year, we'll get there! Go Ryan!

Posted by: Donna | Aug 7, 2008 7:37:08 PM

Thanks for the update! Least we know he's going somewhere! smile.... I'm excited about what 2009 will bring for Ryan!

Even though the race wasn't that great, sounds like you had a wonderful time with friends and family, glad for that!

We were excited to hear Ryan was going to run the Nationwide series at the Glenn! It would be totally awesome to see him sweep the weekend! Although I'm not sure we could control Miss Nila! :) But think of all the great pictures she'd get! Yes!!!!

Yall be safe and careful going to the Glenn, hope yall have a great weekend! And Kick some butt at the track!

"I am sorry for opening my mouth in an attempt to belittle Ryan. It appears to me that I need to learn to keep my mouth shut and stay out of other individual's business when it doesn't concern me. My unprofessional behavior made ESPN look like an unprofessional entity and I am truly sorry for the embarrassment that I have caused them. To all of you Ryan Newman fans, I apologize to you as well. I never thought how many people I would hurt and anger, and for that I am truly sorry! I must also send my most sincere apologies to the two individuals who I hurt the most, Ryan and Krissie Newman. You two are such a class act and really know how to handle yourselves no matter what the situation. I certainly hope that in the future, I will learn from this most embarrassing situation and become a more non-biased reporter for ESPN, stating only the facts and not my judgmental opinion.

Donna, since Rusty will never be man enough to apologize to Ryan, Krissie, or any of us, I felt that I would do it for him! Now watch both races this weekend and enjoy Ryan and Krissie celebrating in Gatorade Victory Lane on Saturday and Sunday! Don't punish yourself for Rusty's inconsiderate behavior, he certainly doesn't care if you are watching the race (turn up the radio and push the mute button on the television).

Happy Race Weekend!

Thanks, Krissie!

Alicia,

Your son will be fine. Joining the Air Force was the best decision I ever made in my life. I might be for him, too. Thank you for supporting our country - somebody has to do it, and your son is contributing to one of America's finest traditions.

Wherever he ends up, I hope they don't make Ryan wear another tomato-red firesuit. That car was hideous.

Posted by: grumpyoldman | Aug 8, 2008 11:07:57 AM

UGH!!!! I was at the Mobile station this morning getting gas and who should appear but a Mobile 1 exec.....he was complimenting my decor on my car. All number 12 of course. He went on about how he knows what the future plans are and then wouldn't share!!! LOL! He even has insight on Penske. I advised that it is so unfair to "pretend" to know things and then clam up! He said we would be happy with the decision however! Duh!!! Of course we will! :)

Posted by: Kimm Baker | Aug 8, 2008 11:23:17 AM

Thanks, Krissie, for all the time you take writing your blogs and even responding to people's entries. It really makes the fans feel like you are one of us and not like some of the other more "Hollywood" driver's wives. Your entries are very informative, and really give a neat perspective of what driver's lives are like both on and off the track. I have been a Ryan fan since being introduced to NASCAR several years ago (he won the first race I ever attended...Loudon) and I will be a fan wherever his career takes him. Good luck to you both as you navigate this tricky path of alignment for next season.

Posted by: Stephanie from Maine | Aug 8, 2008 11:32:30 AM

Krissie,
I have always been a Newman fan, but I found to respect and like him more when I noticed he was a true Man. A man that stands up for himself on the situations that are around him. Ryan is an awesome man and wonderful driver. I hope this new team respects him like Ryan should be respected and treated. You, Krissie, treat your fans like family, instead just another person you met. I truley thank you for being You. Good luck to Ryan on Saturday & Sunday, we will always root for wherever he joins.

Posted by: Jennifer from Oklahoma | Aug 8, 2008 12:54:11 PM

I still have a glimmer of hope that Ryan goes to RCR or JGR and not SHR. No offense, but SHR is not an improvement from Penske, at least not anytime soon. Wherever he ends up, even if I don't like the team (SHR) I'll still be a fan.

Posted by: keith12 | Aug 8, 2008 1:51:10 PM

Krissie,
Thank You so much for your blog's and updates. We really enjoy them!!
I just read the article on ESPN about the spotter's job and have a new respect for the for what Greg does. I think ESPN is trying to make up for being so rotten to you guys. But it was a nice article about Ryan & Greg--Very Cool!!! Say Hey to Greg to keep up the good job and we love hearing him on the scanner!!! (Big Pat on his back!!).
And good luck in your new endeavor and many blessings for the rest of 08 and 09(and 10,11,12,etc...) I so wish I could be at fan club day but my parents will be coming from Texas to visit(I'm in Michigan), and I need to save the rest of my vacation days for them. I will be at the MIS race thou.
I did meet you both at MIS a couple of years ago!! Thanks fior giving people the chance to write to you, that's really awesome!!

Posted by: shelly | Aug 8, 2008 6:33:14 PM

Well Krissie, Just glad you and Ryan know what is in store for you and sincerely hope it works out.
And Glad you got to see family and have some "Air" time.

In all my speculations.
NEWMAN!
'See what brown can do for you'.
Hopefully.
UPS commercials are always funny, would love to see Ryan in them.

Posted by: Carrie | Aug 8, 2008 11:41:21 PM

Oh, I am so pissed at Nascar right. I am so glad Ryan did not get nailed. That was so dangerous with Ryan sitting there and Nascar taking awhile to call a caution. That was very nice of Sam to help Ryan and now possible out of the Top 30 in points. Man, that really could have been a very bad wreck. Really glad Ryan is okay. I wish I could have heard what Ryan was saying because I know he is all for safety.

Posted by: Staci | Aug 10, 2008 4:18:50 PM

Staci,
Ryan really didn't say much at all as the cars were flying past him, just afterwards that he had no power! It was nice of Sam to push him and great that the 77 is still top 35 in owner points!

Posted by: Darlene | Aug 10, 2008 5:45:21 PM

Glad to see that someone else noticed that NASCAR took their sweet time calling a caution while Ryan was sitting out there in the middle of the track. Especially when a caustion was called just a short time before that when Sam went through the gravel and gravel got on the track. Guess it would have been OK for drivers to ram into Ryan, but not OK for them to spin out on the gravel. Sure makes good safe sense to me!!!

Posted by: Joyce | Aug 10, 2008 6:40:04 PM

I am not one to complain, but Nascar needs to stop playing favorites with certain drivers that affects the outcomes of races. At lap 10, a spring rubber fell off one of the cars and sat there until lap sixty (Nascar decides to throw a caution for debris). Hmm!

As each race passes, I lose more respect for Nascar.

I am just thankful that Ryan wasn't blasted by another car when Nascar decided not to throw a caution immediately after Ryan's spin. Real funny Nascar officials if something serious happened! Get your heads out of the clouds and start playing by the rule book. Oh wait, they make it and rewrite it as they feel necessary.

Ryan: You ran an outstanding race until your spin and the pit strategy was awesome! Nothing to hang your heads about. Go get em at Michigan and Bristol and you will be right there!

Best wishes!

Posted by: florian | Aug 10, 2008 9:15:14 PM

If Ryan goes to Stewart/Haas then his qualifying abilities are going to be put to the test for sure unless the 66 can make it back into the top 35 by the end of the year. Wouldn't that be something if the defending Daytona 500 winner missed next year's 500 because he wasn't fast enough in qualifying and couldn't make it in via the 150's?

That would be the one thing that I would be most concerned about if I was Ryan and going to Stewart/Haas was making sure this program is ready for Daytona. If Ryan misses Daytona then he's going to be behind the 8 ball all year long with the way the top 35 works so if that's where Ryan is going then he needs to make sure that team is ready for Daytona.

Posted by: Ken | Aug 10, 2008 10:58:10 PM

I too was extremely scared that Ryan was a sitting duck for the entire field to get by him. No reason at all they didn't throw a caution, especially on the corner like that. Did they say it was a hard spot for spotters to see also? More of a reason to put out the caution. I thought of you Krissie and how scary that must have been for you to watch. We should write letters to NASCAR complaining that they put our driver in harms way for no reason. If they thought he could refire and move, give him a couple seconds and then realize he's not moving, stop the field. DUH! I'm thankful, as are the rest of his family, friends and fans, that Ryan was not harmed. Good luck the next couple of races, go get'em Ryan!!!

Posted by: Cheryl | Aug 11, 2008 9:20:24 AM

Actually, Ken, Kevin Harvick didn't race in the Daytona 500 in 2001 and he still finished third in points that year. Ryan only has to get to twelfth. ;)

Posted by: J in PA | Aug 11, 2008 10:55:48 AM

Not too worried. A change has to happen now so time to just move on.....

Posted by: Kimm Baker | Aug 11, 2008 2:40:00 PM

Hi Krisse! I saw you standing right beside me at Daytona 500 2007 when Ryan came out of building and get in the van. You was like his bodyguard. I wish to meet Ryan. For the 3rd time I failed. Someday We will meet ya'll. I had been fan of Ryan since 2001 and still is... no matter where Ryan will be I am with him all the way. I can tell he's the best driver only when he is in the right team. I am glad He's not with Penske and I kinda feel bad for Kurt being stuck in Penske. By the way My fiance is now Ryan's and your fan she love racing and animals. We both are deaf. I wonder if Ryan know some signs? That would be nice to see him do some sign language! We love ya'll and we will support wherever ya'll go!

Posted by: ScottVela | Aug 11, 2008 6:09:24 PM

Ryan's appeal for the ASPCA came on several times during the race on Sunday, and I was so sure I would remember the website, I didn't write it down. Does anyone remember what it was? I looked for it among the search engines, but no luck. Also, is there any date for the publication of the sequel or next installment of PIT ROAD PETS. I love my copy of the original. The pictures always improve my outlook on life.

Posted by: Johanna | Aug 11, 2008 10:49:16 PM

I don't see any reason to "lose more respect for NASCAR" every week. They catch so much criticism for throwing excessive cautions, I'm not surprised they didn't throw one, especially if the said part wasn't really in the racing groove (at the glen, there's pretty much only 1.)

Also, as scary as Ryan being in the middle of danger was, Nascar had no way of knowing that something was wrong with the car. Ryan had lots of room to get out of the area and by the time NASCAR saw something was amiss, most of the field had gotten by anyway. Counting small delays between relaying the caution announcement to the competitors, I'd say it was pretty fair game.

This is all coming from someone who roots for Ryan as fervently as anyone. Racing is dangerous and Ryan certainly didn't get the worst of the day by a long shot.

With regards to the 66's owner points next year: if the best qualifier in the history of the sport can't get into races and the car struggles so badly during the 150s that he can't race his way in, then the team is far enough off that they're going to struggle for the foreseeable future.

Luckily, with the exception of the road racing, Scott has done a fantastic job of running decent enough to keep the car up there.

Danny,
I agree with you whole heartedly! If anyone can do it is Ryan.......

Posted by: Kimm Baker | Aug 12, 2008 10:38:01 AM

I'm a fan of Ryan, I'm a hossier too. I just want to know what went thru Ryan's head when he was stalled on the track and all those cars were coming at him!!!!!!!! Made me think of the crossovewr at the Anderson Speedway figure 8 race!!!! I personally would have had to go to the pits to change my undies!!!!!!

i am 74 years old and for my birthday my family took me to the daytona speedway for the tour i got a picture of ryans winning car it thrilled me so much love you and ryan no matter where he goes i will be his fan betty

This past Friday, I was at the Rochester Red Wings Game and Ryan was making an appearance. What a great fan base Ryan has in the Rochester area. Despite the never ending line (2 hours) for fans to grab an autograph, I waited my turn, not for an autograph but just to wish Ryan good luck for the upcoming race. Call me crazy, but autographs are not my thing. I rather wish Ryan the best and be on my way.

What a perfect gentleman Ryan was, even after hundreds of autographs! He is a great spokesman for Nascar and a class act!

Posted by: florian | Aug 12, 2008 7:54:53 PM

Kent, I thought the same thing as you did with Ryan sitting in the line of fire. I live about 30 miles from Anderson Speedway, formerly Sun Valley Speedway, and have see many cars stalled in that crossover.

As a fellow Hoosier, I want Ryan to sign with Stewart Haas. When they're ready for a 3rd team, I want another Hoosier, David Stemme, to drive it. :)

Posted by: Diane | Aug 13, 2008 9:16:30 AM

Kent - I live just 30 miles from Anderson Speedway in Indiana. And I've seen a lot of cars stalled in that figure 8 crossover. So I was also upset that nascar waited so long to put out the caution for Ryan.

I want Ryan to sign with Stewart Haas and when they're ready to start a 3rd team, I want another Hoosier, David Stremme to drive it. :)

Sorry for the double post.

Posted by: D | Aug 13, 2008 9:24:55 AM

Ryan is by far the class of the field in NASCAR and no matter where he goes I will be a fan. I think ESPN has no clue about NASCAR fans. It is important to us that our drivers are respected and treated like family. It deeply offends me when anyone takes liberties with our drivers. Especially Ryan who arguably is the nicest driver, it is like they took advantage of his kindness knowing he would not say anything bad. Well Krissie, thank God you are here to, in a nice way, make your displeasure known. I would hope they would listen, but I'm realistic. :D

Keep up the good work, and I can't wait for Ryan to find a new home.

Posted by: David | Aug 13, 2008 11:30:23 AM

Krissie,
I hope Ryan goes to Stewart-Haas Racing and gets the UPS sponsorship. Now that my favorite driver Dale Jarrett has retired, I needed a driver to fill his shoes. I already have chose Ryan for the job! Ryan is such a caring person like Dale. To see Ryan drive the UPS car and in the UPS uniform each week would be a dream come true for me! Good luck to Ryan with his future team and sponsor. You are what a Nascar wife should be, and are a great asset to the whole Nascar family. You and Ryan are the BEST!!!!

All,
I attend the Phoenix race twice a year and for the first time took my 16 yr old daughter, who was not a race fan. We stood line together for autograph tickets and then again for the actual autograph that evening.
When we finally got to see Ryan he was so gracious and actually took the time to "talk" with Paige and from that moment on she has been hooked on NASCAR! He actually takes the time with his fans which is really unusual.
We are looking forward to seeing him in November!

Donna,
I remember a race a few years back when Jarrett turned hard right to put Newman in the wall in retaliation. I don't know what their relationship is now or was then, just amusing that you chose Newman after being a Jarrett fan. I don't hate any drivers, but since that race I always liked to see Jarrett having a bad day. On another note, looks like the "sources" are saying an annoucement on Friday to Stewart-Hass.

Krissie,

I got home earlier from the Fan Club Day and could not believe that Nascar.com made the announcement that Ryan was going with Tony. I kind of figured that was where he was headed, but Ryan wasn't announcing at the Fan Club Day and said it would be announced Friday. I would have rather heard it from Ryan if we knew it was going to be announced today.

I had a wonderful time today at the Fan Club Day and so did my children. Meaghan caught two fish and went in a canoe, two firsts for her. Ryan showed a lot of his sense of humor today and it was just a great day to be able to spend it with you and Ryan.

Thanks so much for taking the time from your busy schedule to spend time with the fans.

Ok, so I know not to believe everything that I read. If this is true, Congrat to Ryan for joing Tony (according to Nascar.com)I Ryan is my favorite driver and I met Tony June 19 and he became my second favorite driver. Like I said if this is true, I am excited :)
When can we buy the new merchadise? Good Luck this weekend Ryan.
Thank Krissie for all the updates.

A birds eye view of NYC...I bet that was breathtaking! I'm glad to hear things are lining up for Ryan 4 next season & you are getting to enjoy some time w/ friends & family. You guys take care! =)

Okay if it IS Ryan and Tony, here is a novel idea. Since Goodyear STINKS, they should go after Hoosier tires for a sponsor!!!!! Now that would be sticking it in Goodyear's eye!!!!! I know, I know, don't thank me, I'm just an idea man here!!

Dave,
I am a true Nascar fan and don't hate any drivers, nor wish them back luck no matter what they have done to any fellow driver. In the heat of the moment, many drivers have retaliated against one another. Now that you reminded me, I remember that incident just barely. My son has been a Newman fan since he first started racing in the Busch series. By the way, I was a Davey Allison fan, and thats why I don't ever wish any driver bad luckon the track or anywhere else. On a good note we now can agree that Ryan Newman is our favorite driver, we are fellow fans. By the way my son helped in my decision to pick Ryan. Nice talking to ya, GO RYAN!!!!

It doesn't matter why any of us chose Ryan to follow. The fact is that we did and it is an awesome group to share our excitement with!!! Looking forward to an announcement tomorrow and hoping that it clears up a lot of unanswered questions!

THe Ryan Newman Fan Club Day ROCKED!! SO relaxing and I cant wait to see what you guys do with this project. I hope that when it finished that we will make it back to see the finished product....

I can keep a secret if you just add one FLUSHABLE toilet hidden back in a remote area of the woods that ye can use :)

Good luck at michigan. I am home now but will be here less than 24 hours before I head back to the track to camp. Lookin forward to an announcement so everyone can breathe a sigh of relief and press on with the rest of this year.

HOpe the trapshootiing went well and that you raised more money for a great cause. Did you participate in the clay pigeon ordeal? My husband advised against it for me and said.....Shaun dont waste the peoples time, thinkin I would be a danger to myself and others :)

Fan Club Day was a great time -- fun, relaxed. The camp's potential is tremendous.

Hope the weekend plays out well for the 12 car.

And don't let Rashaun get that blackmail deal going. :p

I'm so happy that it's finally official. Sorry Krissy, but Tony is my favorite driver with Ryan a close second. As a fellow Hoosier I'm so proud to see these two great drivers on the same team. 2009 will be a fun year because Ryan and Tony have the same sarcastic and dry sense of humor. I can hardly wait.

Always, an important thing to remember in life. Never, ever, in your lifetime, trust a reporter. And I don’t care if they are part of the family. These people are in the business of inventing entertainment, period. News and the truth occasionally accompany a story, but I suspect that would be considered an accident at best.
