West Coast Treats
By: Dennis Terry
We are headed to Atlanta this weekend for some East Coast racing.
Finally!
I know Vegas and Fontana were just two West Coast races with one week in between, but it feels like I’ve been on Pacific time for a month.
At least I broke even in the casino even though I lost my tail in the sleep department.
Vegas was a step in the right direction for both my Cup and Nationwide team.
Neither race had the outcome that we are searching for, but both were great improvements over the first two races of the season.
Danica had a great run in Saturday’s Nationwide race. She did an exceptional job for the entire race and she was moving up through the field until we had a slow green flag stop which put her back with some damaged cars. The result was another crash that was a result of someone else’s driving.
She looked good though, and I can’t wait to see her back in NASCAR for the June 26th New Hampshire race.
Ambrose scored a 14th place finish for our Cup team.
Fourteenth still isn’t where we should be, but after two engine failures in a row, a top twenty finish is a step in the right direction. I think Atlanta will be a strong track for Marcos and our pit crew.
One of the highlights of the race for me was pitting beside of Trent and the 12 car guys. It's nice to get work beside of some of the best in the business.
They also have some of the best snacks on pit road!!!
Catchcan "man", Britt Goodrich is usually guarding their snack tray like a boxer bulldog, but when I wasn't chasing his tire around pit road I was able to score some Red Bull and good treats for me and my guys!
Thanks pal!
