Atta boy Harvick
Never been a big Harvick fan, but I call em as I see em. Harvick earned the win today and did it in tactful manner. After starting at the rear of the field because of a late change, he drove his %#@! off to get up to the front, and stay. He managed to do what most cars couldn't do all day, stay away from trouble. With half the field beat up or injured, Harvick had the patients to wait until the right time to take control of the race. He deserved to win today. The other thing i was very impressed with was the interview after the race. As we were cleaning up the pit area, the jumbo tron had the post race interview on it. I took a minute to sit down on the pit wall and listen to Harvick after the race. I got to give him some credit in that he handled himself very well. I'm in no position to criticize any ones post race speech, but when i here one that is good and genuine i tend to listen. I think he was humbled a bit that it had been 55 races since his last win and his speech sounded more sincere than he has ever been. He thanked all the sponsors and his teammate's for hanging in there with him for the last year and a half. You don't get lucky and win at Bristol, you have to earn it, and Harvick did that today.

Harvick is the man. He's mad talented and only needs decent equipment to run up front all the time.

Maybe Richard Childress should be on the war wagon more often, it seems something gave Harvick and the team an extra boost in todays race.

I'm impressed with this post from you, Trent. I knew you weren't a Harvick fan (as you said again at the start) so it was nice to read those thoughts of yours. I must say I am a Harvick fan and I read the full interview today. You can sense the relief at finally winning again, and the weight being lifted off his and the whole team's shoulders.
At the start of the season, especially after not showing up for Cup testing at Daytona, people were questioning his commitment to driving. I really liked the way he said his whole world revolves around what happens on a Sunday, despite everything else he has going on.

The thing that fascinates me is how many people keep claiming that he only got lucky on Sunday because the "good" cars were taken out of the race. Fine, you can say that if you want...except that he turned around and did it again on Monday. Here's the way I see it: you start in the top 10-20 and win the race, it might be luck, but if you start in the BACK and win the race, well then that's talent.

I am impressed with Harvick. He did a great job staying clean and finishing the race. He deserved the win even though Rusty had the car until that incident in the middle of the race. What was he thinking going into the pits behind under red flag? Talk about a bonehead move. Hey Rusty, you are a veteran driver who knows what the red flag means. It is unfortunate for Happy that his crew chief cheated. Yes there is a level of responsibility by the driver but come on Berrier flat out admitted he cheated and that he would try it again because he knows how he got caught. The points shouldn't have been taken away but I think Berrier should have been suspended the rest of the season.

Its stupid saying Wallace and Biffle were faster so if they hadn't made mistakes they would have won. So they were faster at a certain stage of the race? What does that prove? Harvick was saving his equipment (not just tires but brakes also), so who is to say he wouldn't have been faster and got past the 16 and 2 even if they had still been in front at the final restart.
Its the old 'I had a fast car until my engine blew, or I crashed'. If you crash or you engine blows, it shows your speed was artificially high and unsustainable. Harvick had sustainable speed on Sunday, so was better than those other two.
