Not much good came out of Kansas
Besides running pretty bad and finishing in the middle of the pack we lost our jack man for a couple of weeks. On our 4Th stop of the day our jack man Mitch Lash got his right ankle run over by the 11 car during one of the pit stops. As he was coming down on the handle the 11 car cut into our stall to get into his and rolled over Mitch's ankle. Infield care said it was a major sprain and they didn't think it was broke but they were sending him to the hospital for xrays. Although that was a downer it had nothing to do with how we were running on the track. It just wasn't a good day for the team. We couldn't get the car the way Ryan wanted it and we didn't have the track position to get in clean air to see how the car could run. I guess if you look at all that went wrong yesterday it could have been worse than 23rd. Nothing we can do about it now except look ahead to this week in Charlotte. We need a strong finish to make up some points.

Trent,
So sorry to hear Mitch got hurt. I hope he will be feeling better very soon.
It was a long day for Team Alltel, but you guys hung in there and never gave up. You're right, it could have been a lot worse than 23rd.
Good luck at Charlotte.

Bound to have bad days, but I think the Championship will be won by the team that turns a bad day into an average or better day. Could have easily finished worse yesterday, way to hang in there. I was hoping you'd pull the fenders out like Sauters Busch car saturday and we'd be all right. That 11 car is dangerous no matter where he is, sorry about Mitch.

Heard Matt tell Ryan that Mitch got clipped. Glad to hear that he is OK, considering. Best wishes to Mitch!
From what I could gather, the car was rough (a Monster?) right off the truck. I heard that you guys swapped trannys during practice, and then during impound. Was Rusty's team having the same issues? Also, what happened during pre-race inspection with the rear quarter panel?
Keep pushing guys! We can do it!!!

NOOOOOOOOOO...poor mitch! I also told him to watch out for other drivers...men, they never listen to the smart women!

Trent,
Here is a prime example...of pit crew vs. crew cheif.
You guys could have banged out 12 sec stops all day yesterday and your car never would have had a top 10.
So I think a crew cheif is a little more important than a pit crew. Just my thoughts.

Hey Trent! Was good 2 see ya'll hang in there for those 90plus points. To me it looked worse at the time of the wreck. I understood the tranny deal, but what was up with the problem in inspection? Was that some of that rule enforcement you were asking for? Still 2nd overall. Park that car and grab another!! Keep diggin'. Don't want to miss a chance to take a swipe at BeerBoy for wrecking us.

Sorry to heard about all the problems, hope he gets well soon. Did anyone else think that race was kind of dull? Just didn't see much good racing, congrats to the 6 though he earned it.
2nd in points is nothing to sneeze at guys, for the first time in a while Ryan is considerd a serious contender for the championship, no one can knock the 20's performance, but if he slips, the Alltel guys are right there to capitalize on it. Good luck this Saturday, keep that @#!$# 48 car out if victory lane.

Trent, don't you thinks its time to punish cars hitting Jackmen. Thats at least two this year(#31).And some drivers are known for "trying to disrupt others timing".

So...aside from the play--uh--the race, how was the simulator? Seriously though, that is a safety issue that needs to be addressed. How about some sort of intantaneously removable bumper--yellow, heavy inflatable plastic that activates when the pit crew charges forward, or the car behind your stall begins his entrance, or another pit crew member whose sole purpose it is to wave a sign saying "Whoa, stupid!", or SOMETHING!

Margaret,
That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. You know, in every sport there is risk and that goes for racing as well. I hate it that somebody got hurt, but how far can safety go? Next thing you know, NASCAR will make the drivers come down pit road one at a time. One each lap.

Jen (the 2nd one on here),
I certainly don't blame you for being upset about what the other Jen posted.
The only friendly suggestion I can give you is......you may want to consider adding something to your name to differentiate between the two of you. Otherwise the only way we'll know you're different is to click on your name and see a different email address.
Hang in there, and don't leave.

Jen(the real one)
So are you saying that someone is playing a cruel joke on you? If you didn't make the 3 posts above just say so.

Trent
So sorry about Mitch. Tell him RNO wishes him well.
Even though yesterday was a bummer of a day, it wasn't a horrible day. You finished on the lead lap, you didn't have a bad crash, you didn't get a DNF, you are STILL 2nd in points!!! While you lost 71 points to the leader...you ONLY lost 71 points, it could have been much much worse!!!!
Keep up the great work, guys, and on to Charlotte!!!!!!!

I made the first two..but NOT the thrid one...i'm just really piss cuz that can get somebody i a lot of trouble if that gets in the wrong person's hands!
Posted by: Jen | Oct 10, 2005 1:23:39 PM
Jen,
That stinks. Don't blame either of you for being upset. I'd be pissed too. Hopefully whoever it is that's messing with you will stop acting like a child and the bullshit.

sheesh.. another 1.5 mile track flop for ryan.. whats up here?
Posted by: mike | Oct 10, 2005 4:00:03 PM
why doesn't someone say something about the wreck Junior caused? If it was Jimmie Johnson who caused it everyone on here would have a hard-on and want him to be shot. you people are idiots.
Posted by: jrf | Oct 10, 2005 4:50:20 PM
Hope Mitch gets better soon.. sprangs can hurt worse than breaks most the time.... Yep, yesterday was a total bummer! I kept hoping that things would turn around and I see Ryans car coming to the front, but oh well, Yall will kick butt next week.....
And your right, jrf, Jr. caused the wreck, let's string him up!!!! Just kidding! NOT!!
Car may have been somewhat better had we not been slammed into the wall, but things happen.....

All you whiners over newman's accident. what goes around comes around, thats what he gets for being STUPID at talladega and taking out the 41 last week
Posted by: sam | Oct 10, 2005 7:32:49 PM
The reason nobody says anything about Jr. causing an accident is because he doesn't try to blame everyone else for his screw-ups. It also doesn't take him 3 days to apologize for it. That's what happens with the impound weekends, you get these strokers that can pull a pair of laps out of their ass and then they go straight to the back when the green flag drops and they just get in the way.
