Four More & Bill Romanowski
By: Dennis Terry
Martinsville did not deliver the type of finish that we were counting on after all of our problems in Charlotte.
Once again, we managed to get tangled up in another crash at the start of the race and after scoring three top ten finishes in a row we were again fighting to just salvage a decent finish.
The guys did an excellent job changing radiators and getting Martin back out on the track, but by that point we were so many laps down that we were just cruising for points.
Dale Jr. also had his share of trouble while racing Kasey Kahne late in the race. One small mistake on his part now puts those guys in a situation where they have to have a strong top five finish at Atlanta to keep any championship hopes alive.
On a positive note, it was one of the best short track races of the season from my point of view. Martinsville is usually one of those boring short tracks where I lounge around behind the pit box drinking the driver's Gatorade and guarding the ice cream sandwiches, but this race was actually fun to watch.
To add to the racing excitement Oakland Raider super-star Bill Romanowski was hanging out in our pits wearing a Duran-Duran T-shirt and a Rocky and Bullwinkle sun visor!
He spent most of the race eating hotdogs and picking on the 21 car jackman for his Star Trek sunglasses. Well, I'm not sure if it was the real Romanowski, but definitly his twin brother!
So, only four more races in 2006 and I'm still very optimistic that we can get back into our streak of top ten finishes or at least end our streak of first lap crashes.

I hated to see yall have trouble again this week... And Jr. and Kasey, I had a feeling something was going to happen eventually there.
Schraders pit was probably NOT the place to be toward the end..... Man, he was hot, rightly so, but controlled it well...
I hope yall pull out a good finish these next few races!!!
You are always guarding the food??? I'm going to try and bring some stuff at the Texas race, just not sure what yall will eat??????

By saying you don't know if it was the real Romo do you mean that you couldn't tell because he didn't have a needle full of steroids hanging from his ass and a suitcase full of "vitamins."

Yes Darlene, we will eat just about anything like Short Lady said. Our trainer, Walt Smith is especially fond of us eating choc. chip cookies and rice krispy treats!

Hey Dennis,
Sorry about Martinsville. Here's hoping to a great weekend at Atlanta.
Good Luck to Martin in the Cup and the IROC race.
I was wondering, do you go early to Atlanta to see the IROC race, or just watch from home?

Neither. I'm actually going to Atlanta early to catch the GT & Miami game on Saturday and hopefully make it to the new aquarium.
I rarely watch racing unless I'm pitting a car and have a shot at popping some champagne in victory lane.
I will however, catch the last 40-50 laps of the truck race, 'cause there are few commercials and lots of crashing!
