What a mess we got here
I'm sure by now everyone who watches racing has seen the footage of our teammate trying to TALK to Tony Stewart during the race on Sunday. DT has spoken on this issue so I figure I would to. The shop right now is just waiting to here what Nascar is going to do to Kurt and the 2 team. What bothers me about the whole situation is that this incident affects more than just Kurt Bush. On all race teams there are incentives for how you finish, how well pit stops are performed, where you finish at the end of the year, etc. So by Kurt showing his ass he puts all of us at Penske in a bad situation. Not only that but it makes guys on our team embarrassed to be his teammate. I think Kurt has a ton of talent but acting like a two year old isn't gonna cut it anymore. Oh by the way, we finished second, won the checkers, crew chief of the race award and moved up 2 spots. Who knows, maybe we can get a little bit of a streak going. Thats all.

Even giving Kurt Busch as much benefit of the doubt as possible, which isn't easy to do, NASCAR needs to pound it into drivers' minds that pit road antics like that will NOT be tolerated. Kurt's done some dumb things before but I didn't think even he could be this stupid. He's going to be paying for this one for a while.

What a great job you all did Monday Trent. Everyone was on their A game. Congratulations to all of the 12 team. You guys can't help what Kurt did! Just to bad his childish actions will hurt so many!

any racing fan from racing hot wheels cars to go carts to spaceships should knows the name PENSKE, this in return should show EVERYONE?ANYONE? just how BIG of a mighty club the name PENSKE yeilds in racing !
will nascar challenge PENSKE and go head to head over this latest issue concerning kurt and handle the penske driver like they should?...i think not.
will nascar go to penske[roger himself]
and lay the law down? Remember how BIG the name PENSKE is too racing and what PENSKE COULD DO... nope nascar wont do that either !
will nascar remind Penske that there driver not only is a hot head and has had issues like this several times before and in the past has challenged the likes of the ARIZONA sheriffs dept and they [nascar] let him off with a slap on the wrist compared to a sentence you or i would have recieved for the same incident?
nope...they wont do that !
i remind everyone of these issue's only to bring out this FACT:
NASCAR DRIVERS ARE THE ROYAL AMBASSADORS,
of NASCAR the sport..
reguardless of the driver.
When a driver in uniform or during a performance WILLFULLY COMMITT's AN ACT TO ENDANGER LIFE DURING A NASCAR EVENT !!!!!! he should be punished to the maxium extent.
NOW...kurt SAW Lee[tire man]!!!
then KURT aimed a 3200 lb projectile[car] into harms way!!!!!!!!!!
..hopeing the tire man moved????????
he[KURT]did NOT care about if the man moved or not,
KURT brought his 3200 lb projectile skreching to a halt into tonys pit box, hitting tonys car, making the tire man clear the hood of tonys cars to clear danger?
Kurt DID NOT CARE !!!!!!!
WILL NASCAR CARE ????????

At the end of the year, Kurt should pay his crew members/team mates what they would have made if he wouldn't have shown his @$$ on Monday. It's the right thing to do. Looks like He'll have the weekend to think about it....

Trent...Congrats to you & all the rest of the 12 team for the good finish. I was interested to see what you'd have to say about this one...seeing how you work for Penske and all. I thought you would basically have to sugar coat the whole thing and try to explain how KB really isn't a no class idiot. Takes a lotta balls for soeone in your position to give an honest opnion on this issue. I respect that. Good luck the rest of the year.

It's unfortunate that one rotten apple ends up spoiling the whole barrel. I think most race fans understand that the team members are not responsible for Kurt's bad behavior.
Great effort from the #12 team on Monday. Congrats and I hope you guys stay on a roll.
Posted by: Barb g | Jun 6, 2007 4:29:44 PM
congrats on an excellent Monday. Your stops were awesome, Ryan wheeled a great race. Too bad KB and Tony have overshadowed that. It's obvious Ryan's class hasn't rubbed off on Kurt, I was starting to think he might be coming around and then this happens on pit road. Any chance for a Mayfield reunion in the 2 while Kurt cools his heals this w/e? Bill Elliot? Can't wait to see who it will be...Go Gettem' at Pocono.
Posted by: MoparDave | Jun 6, 2007 4:57:48 PM
thinking back i remember how ryan never missed a chance to bag on his team mate, then one of the koolest drivers around, rusty wallace.
at the start of the next year he never missed a chance to say how greatful he was to have someone like kurt as his new team mate. and, how he had a guy he could talk to and hang out with, etc, etc.
well... how ya feelin now ryan. your team mate has elevated the whole penske operation to a new level, huh.

when does Nascar issue its decision?
Posted by: maryland | Jun 6, 2007 5:39:32 PM
yeah, I guess no other driver has ever spun someone out intentionally on pitroad!!!!! (cough) Tony Stewart. Tony is a horse's ASS that doesn't care about anyone. He has never had to pay for any of the sh!t he has done. Just because it was Kurt Monday everyone is throwing punches. I say get over it, it's a dangerous sport, Tony sending Kyle down the backstretch at Dega didn't look too safe to me!! So stop your bitchin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: 2fast | Jun 6, 2007 7:26:41 PM
2fast, I agree, others drivers, have done things to put other drivers in danger and it's wrong, but we're talking about a pit crew member, who has no form of protection, no big car, no armour, no nothing! I'm not tryin to bash Kurt, that just flat out wasn't right!
Congrats Trent to you and the gang, what an awesome, awesome job yall did Monday, well, Friday too! It was just a great weekend! Rain and all, very proud of yall! Keep up the good work and stay safe!!!

There is all of this talk about if NASCAR will care enough to park him for his actions. What about Penske? I do believe his actions were out of line and he needs to be parked but why is Penske waiting for NASCAR to do it for them?
Doesn't say much about anyone in this situation if you ask me.
Posted by: madden | Jun 6, 2007 8:14:46 PM
exile,
Penske replaced an asshole Cup Champion with another asshole Cup Champion, what does Ryan have to do with that? For God's sake let that dog lie...
Posted by: MoparDave | Jun 6, 2007 8:34:50 PM
If it wasn't for that past asshole cup champion, FATBOY wouldn't be in that car. Rusty treated Ryan like his own sun, then fatboy turns around and stabs Rusty in the back.
Darlene I know what Kurt did wasn't right, and I in no way agree with it. All I'm saying is everyone just waits for Kurt to F@#k up and when he does it's always NASCAR should park him, he should be fired, he should be disqualified, this, that the other!!! Just fine him dock him 200 points, put him on probabtion and go on with it! How many times has he done this? None and I'm sure it will be the last. He's gonna pay for it enough I'm sure.
Pick on Busch day is over let's start talking about all the bone head sh!t Tony has done just this year, oh I forgot it's TONY STEWART, he's never wrong. He can do what he wants. I usually don't agree with anything Jeff Gordon say's ,but he might really be the Rosie O' Donnell of NASCAR!!!!!!! SHOVE IT TONY!!!!!!!!

I am disgusted by Kurt the Jerk's actions on pit road. But am I surprised? NO! Anyone who has ever listened to how Kurt talks to his team on the radio has learned that Kurt has no respect for his team members. So of course he has no respect for anyone else's team. He is what he is, and that is what he has always been (although I must ashamedly confess that I was beginning to fall for the "rehabilitated" image Penske was projecting for him). So much of Penske is 1st class, Kurt is permenantly low class.
Posted by: TK | Jun 6, 2007 9:46:28 PM
Sit him for 2 races dock him 100pts. and fine him not the team $50,000, that might wake him up a little. I really don't think Kurt will ever learn from any punishment that Nascar hands out. It is sad when your 21 year old brother acts more mature and is a better driver than you...Kurt. Although Tony has sure had his share of incedents on and off the track, Kurt seems to still think the world revolves around only him. I never liked the guy and i never will, kick him out and sit his ass for a few races so he will miss the chase.

Trent - Great Run at Dover. Awesome pit stops! Awesome Driving by Ryan! and Awesome calls by Mike!.....Oh yeah, and send out Congrats to Mike for CC of the Race! Great Job!
Thanks MoparDave. Glad you said that so I didn't have too. It's funny how people forget, and or just don't want to see what really went on in that whole situations. But whatever....it's a DEAD issue, and should stay that way.
Okay....so here is my two cents on the whole Kurt thing.....
Yes....what Kurt did was clearly wrong. Period!
Yes....he should and will be punished!
Yes....a crew member was present, and could of been hurt. But was not.
So here's what is irritating me about the whole thing.......
I'm really kind of gettin sick of all the "he could have DIED" comments. Are you kidding me? Kurt couldn't have been going more than 10 or 20 mphs in that car. Yes bump the guy, and possibly hurt a leg or something. But die !!
Come on. .......let's honestly.....STOP and THINK about this.
I have actually seen far worse things happen to crew members on any given Sunday, and they were hit a lot harder, and have flipped over cars and such. So though, I understand that people are upset and all. I just think that some people need to take a step back for a moment, and or forget their hate for KB and realistically think about what happend on Mon. a lil' more. That's all.....JMHO
Heck....the spin that Carl E's put on Tony in the pits last year was FAR worse. There were alot more crew members and officials on the pits at that time. And Tony had a much better chance of losing control of that car. Where was all this outrage then. We didn't see Carl get thrown to the "wolves" for dinner (so to speak). Again, JMHO
As always....Good Luck & Best Wishes at Pocono. Stay safe!

"So by Kurt showing his ass he puts all of us at Penske in a bad situation."
By "showing his ass"? What are you even talking about? Way to post this crap on the internet for thousands to read without reading it over to make sure it even makes sense. Kurt Bush? He's not the president, his name is Busch.
Posted by: froggy | Jun 7, 2007 9:25:20 AM
ok... new rule... it's ok to run over a crew guy if you don't hit him going faster than "10 or 20 mphs" cause you know if you hit him going that slow he will only get a hurt or broken leg or maybe get slammed onto the ground and crack his skull or snap a neck or some other tiny little thing like that.
so ann, i plow through the cross walk at the school down the street from your house and run over your kid but he or she isn't hurt that bad so i get a free ride... right??
face it, since kurt spun a driver and later on tv bragged that he did it cause he needed a caution he has been a punk. he needs his ears pinned back, but it looks like nascar is too scared of penske to do anything...
.
Posted by: exile | Jun 7, 2007 9:34:31 AM
It looks like after a couple years of doing this, you still can't spell Busch correctly! Amazing!
Posted by: Tim | Jun 7, 2007 9:35:36 AM
Hey Trent,
Ann, not sure which part of mopar you are referring to. Jeremy is not a solution. Bout' the degree of excitement reguarding possible injury. Yes, waayy out of poportion.
Kurts' actions speak louder than words. Tired of his antics. It was always my impression that Penske held his employees to a higher standard. Send him to the recycle bin.
Trent, great performance on monday. Good stops and Ryan was up on the wheel.
Be well.

Exile.....get a Life. READ what I wrote, and DON'T put words in my mouth, or YOUR OWN spin on what I said. IT is MY OPINION and I'm entitled to it.
YOU need a reality check. When and where the Hell did Kurt EVER "BRAG" about doing what he did?? Talk about major OVER exagerations. Good Grief. IMO, you're so beyond the point of any rational conversation. Therefore, we will not be having one.
Have a good one.
Posted by: Ann | Jun 7, 2007 10:10:55 AM
2fast, exactly how did Ryan stab Rusty in the back? Wasn't it Rusty who blabbed to the garage how Ryan and the 12 team were ahead of the curve on gas mileage? I guess you are another bitter Rusty fan, he's retired, he's not coming back, get over it!
Posted by: keith12 | Jun 7, 2007 10:11:36 AM
of course penske looks bad because of his employees actions.
unless, of course, you're mikey waltrip and you blame everything on your employees and express complete shock and missunderstanding about anything that happens with your company.
but, i think penske is a little more hands on and can see things more clearly than little mikey.
but nascar isn't gonna do anything to kurt bush busch (who really cares how he spells his name). now, if it was harvick he would be gone for 2 races.
jeremy has screwed up every team he has been on. where's he at now... bill davis??
wow.

Larry -
"Ann, not sure which part of mopar you are referring to. Jeremy is not a solution"
Nope that was not the part. I was referring to the Rusty/Ryan thing being a Dead issue.
