Another great road course race! And another great finish for JGR! We finished second (the first loser), so the highlight of my day was watching the slap-fest between Harvick and Montoya. What a couple of grandmas!
I've said it before and it still holds true... if you are bad enough to jump out of a race car and get up in someone's face, then don't be a Gordon and leave your helmet on!!! Those two looked like a couple of 7 year old school girls fighting over their Barbies. And where are the Allison and Yarborough fans on this? Harvick sure has mellowed from his days of leaping race cars and choking Greg Biffle. Am I wrong here???
I'm just not sure which of those two looked the most ridiculous. Watkins Glen is the new Bristol? Well, not quite, but at least we've got some good race'n and a good girl fight.
Congrats AGAIN to the 20 crew!

Good race for Denny and the 20 team. 2nd on a road coarse is a great accomplishment especially when the guy that beat you is a road coarse ace in Cup cars.

Well said Smoke.....besides....Harvick knows that nascar will park him....besides...who would the rah rah boys of sirius and speed talk about if montoypunk was penalized...cudos to truex for taking his columbian ass out!

looks like two girls fighting, nascar will not park the 29 car it is a GM,they let the 29 team work on the car on a red flag, and he said the A word, and he hit the 42 car after the wreck just like Ted did in the truck race.nascar will do nothing to montoy he is nascar new BOY

"Happy" realizes that his body can't cash the all the big talk out of his mouth. Juan would have kicked his A$$. I love Harvick's spirit, but he never backs up his mouth.

Hi DT...Now, that scenario between Harvick, and Montoya was funny, and yes, Montoya put his hands on Harvick frst.kinda reminded me of the time Harvick and Rudd got into it a few years back at Richmond. I was there that night, and boy Harvick was HOT.!!!!! At least today they went one on one, with the pushing and shoving...unlike the time Jeff Gordon kept his helmet on when he gave Matt Kenseth a shove....what a wuss...keep his helmet on.
By the way..don't worry about your spelling..I had NO trouble reading your post. There are a SLEW of people on here, (me included)who do NOT have PERFECT spelling...Onto Michigan !!!!!

I thought the little sissy fight was funny to watch and like it or not was probably something that Nascar needs though maybe don't want. The 1 car pretty much punted the 42 but that was a racing deal. Anyway it made for good TV and I like the comment Denny made about how he shoulda moved the 24 but Gordon did that to himself, you know he's kickin' himself all over the private jet about it. Good job on the 2nd place. Oh yeah, Shannon is hot!

Hey DT, since when was Gordon the first to leave a helmet on, remember Bobby Allison said after the brawl with Cale he knew Cale never drove modified's because he had took his helmet off. Don't you remember Harvick and Nemechek at Charlotte neither took there helmet's off, I could go on and on but I guess what it come's down to is you not liking Jeff and working for Gibb's and pitting that little complaining bitch that think's he is so great, hell your lucky he hasn't had you replaced, can't wait till Kyle comes over there and start's smoking his ass and watch him start sqealling like a pig.

In the angle ESPN showed most often it looked like Montoya grabbed Harvick first but Montoya's body was blocking what was really happening. When ESPN finally showed the opposite angle (one time) you could clearly see it was Harvick that approached and grabbed Montoya first. At times it looked like they were going to hold hands and other times it looked like Montoya was fending off Harvick's romantic advances! Harvick was open for a right hook to the ribs and Montoya should have delivered it. "Happy" Harvick no more. "Chihuahua" Harvick is more like it. Yap-yap. He's all mouth and no action. I haven't really liked Montoya but he won me over today for not taking any of Chihuahua's crap.

Hey DT,
Congrats on your 2-1 finish.
Now DT.. if you are talking about Jeffy & Kenseth deal, J didn't even have time to take off his helmet. I know, you're pumped right now and that's ok.
Harvick handled himself just fine. So did Taco, considering he just got whacked twice. Once from behind, then on his driver side. Neither of them really want to bust a hand, do they?
Great road course day. When it was on, it was fun to watch. Trent salvaged a good points day. Was glad to see the 2 get that insurance gas. Insurance that there would be plenty of caution laps for the rest of the field to make it. lol

And,
tick, tick , tick, You may want to get out of there before the place explodes. If Kyle don't blow ya'll up, Toyota will. lol

I like Harvick fine as stated in another post, like his attitude (can't say the same for Juan) but he (Harvick) just THOUGHT he wanted some of Ricky Rudd. He better be glad Rudd wasn't out of his car, when he showed out that day. Rudd is from the old school and just LOOKS like an old man. That would have been worth watching!! All these 'young guys' think they are so bad....they just haven't approached the right one....well Kurt Busch did.

DT...congrats, nice job.
NASCAR COT...great racing on a road course! (That oughtta stir up Mike, but it's true)
Smoke...still the man.
Harvick...hit the guy, already.
Juan...you gotta pay your dues before you get treated like "anybody". A good butt-whoopin' would do you some good.
Posted by: DT2 | Aug 13, 2007 9:43:48 AM
If JPM hadn't tried to block then he wouldn't have ended up being punted into Harvick. His name should be Juan (I Juana hit everything but the pacecar)Montoya.

Diaper boy had plenty of time to remove his helmet before he started with matt. He's got a face to protect.
I was pretty drunk by the time the "fight" started, but on the replay i (think) I saw, Harvick put his hand on Juana hit everything in sight's helmet then the play ground pushing and shoving started.
Glad Denny didn't punt Diaper Boy though. I got MUUUUUCH more enjoyment seeing the nervous little shit spin himself out.

Keep in mind, NASCAR loves to punish Harvick and CHildress, and especially if he was to give NASCAR's Golden child of Diversity a bloody nose. Also , keep in mind, that Taco Montoya took Harvick out, at Daytona , when Harvick had a good chance to win again. Also, Taco takes somebody out just about everyweek, maybe next week it will be Denny, then lets see how quick he jumps out of the car, or will he blame his crew for not doing his dirty work for him? Wonder why ratings are down 20% Not enough Harvicks and Tonys and Robbie's, and too many Johnsons, jeffies, and poor racin'!!!
Posted by: clay | Aug 13, 2007 2:01:05 PM
I agree with Clay. Too much cookie cutter response from the drivers in the interviews. Too much of that polished, spit shine hendrick b.s. is some of why the ratings are down. It's BORING, and Jr is already getting into his HMS mode with his crappy interviews as well. ugh.

Wow, do you have to have a mullet, IROC and Rebel Flag? What's the deal with the Taco comments? Good to see that some folks are working hard to make all of us Southerners look like we just crawled out from under the trailer and are looking for the keys to the El Camino.
Any chance that there could be a minimum age to be able to post here?
Posted by: Rush | Aug 13, 2007 2:14:20 PM
Don't have a mullet or a Rebel Flag, and I have to assume a IROC Camaro? As far as minimum age, I'm old enought to know that it was folks my age that supported Nascar, and help get it off the ground. Back when it was ok to call a a**hole drive a a**hole, and not get parked for doing so. If the weak-kneed folks like yourself had been in charge then, there would have been no Dale Sr.'s, or Buddy Bakers, or even Tim Richmonds, they weren't PC enough then. And if Taco can't take people not respecting him and treating him like an anybody, he needs to head on back to cocaine land.
