The chase is on
Now that the chase has started and the first event is over, I think it s time to see where everyone stands. In my personal opinion before race one, I thought there were five drivers capable of winning the chase:24,48,20,2,17. After this weekend I realized that everyone except the 31 and 29 has a chance. The only reason I say the 29, 31 don't have a chance is because I don't think they can run top 5 every week. They both will be consistent finishers but neither will put up big enough number to win. Just wondering what everyone else thinks. Holla back.

Possibly epic battle between 48, 24, 20. All are running top notch, the others seem to "need" good luck and those three seem to own it. I just hope it's close, and the Champion is deserving. Wasn't 12 place 2000 points behind? That is hardly the years best team, it's Johnson and Gordo's to lose, Stewie the perfect upset driver to take the Championship from them. For all the Chases' downside, if the "fans" get lucky we might see a hell of a battle.

When asked who I thought would finish last,I picked Burton, then Truex and Harvick.the reason, the new engine program.
I'm still picking Matt Kenseth as the spoiler.

Since Newman didn't make it, I wouldn't mind seeing Bowyer steal it from Gordon.
this is interesteing, Both Bowyer and Newman started their first Cup race at Phoenix, and won their first Cup race in the fall Loudon race, from the pole.

You might be suprised what the 29 and 31 have in store.

I agree that those will be right there. Not a fan but the #1 has been right there consistantly since the last Dover.#2 is my fav since he is last right now and it will be interesting to see how aggressive he is trying to move up.All I can hope for as a hard core fan is the #7 and #42 rattle some cages and the racing is not like tip toe thru the tulips! It would be nice to see at least 5 of them close in the final couple of races.Oh yeah, bring back the ROCK!

Hey Trent,
Rootin' for the 2 car. Now has Pikes' Peak to climb. It's gonna be tough as that is a lot of quality to catch. Annd, as always.. catchning & pa$$ing are two different things.
Ryan had a good day. Would like to see him in victory lane while all the top guns are "point racing".
My sensible pick would be the 17 car. After the 24 and 48, this format favors Mr. Consistant.. Matt Kenseth.
Now, at least we get to see a race at a real racetrack. Be safe.

Look for the 17 to turn it up a notch. Lastyear they went into the chase with the top seed having won 4 races and many top 5s. They had a few races outside the top 10 and that hurt them. So look for them to learn from their mistakes last year and run with it. Everyone's talking about the 24 and it's his championship, but Matt Kenseth was in that same spot last year.

I figure Gordan or Johnson will win it, but I'm going for Kenseth or Edwards as far as the Chase.... but it was a neat win for Clint Sunday! I'm still rooting for the Alltel Gang to get the wins!
Good Luck at Dover!

I love that your writing still resembles that of a retarded chipanzee. Tell your frankenstein-esque drive he is getting fat.

Hey Bonzo,
You're close. By next year, the driver of the 42 will NEED a cup. Not the kind you want.

Though I think the 24 has the luck going for him this year I think it should be the 5 to show Rick he let the wrong driver go Next at the 50th Daytona 500 final results 18 5 24 48 88

I still remember last year when all the formula 1 tards said that Montoya would school the NASCAR drivers on how it's done and whoop all their asses. LOL
Guess that is never going to happen.

JPM is no better than Robby Gordon(journeyman hack), both are dangerous when they have a good car(road course), but not talented enough to pass cleanly on the high speed oval or dial in a winning car. Where's the finesse of driving a Top F1 monster? Pablo can't pass w/o nearly wrecking the field, his car has the sides and fenders wore off every race. He shows no patience, and is life-threatening on pit road. Have you noticed that Sorenson's cars are just as good as Juans when they have a good weekend? Yo soy not impressed-toe
