Team vs. Team Competition
Just to give us all something to talk about and argue over, I figured i would set up a scenario where teams were matched up with other teams to see what organization was the strongest overall. Obviously I am going to stay out of this because I have a biased opinion. OK, here s the deal. Each team can take there top two drivers and only two drivers to every track we race. Each driver has to drive half the race for each track we go to. So my first question is this. Out of the top 7 multi car teams which drivers do you pick and what organization would win the points championship if it were run the same way it is now. Here are the teams competing in the races. Gibbs, Childress, Penske, Hendricks, Gnassi, Rousch, DEI, and two drivers from any other teams out there.
My Teams: Gibss: Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart
Childress: Harvick and Jeff Burton
Penske: Newman and Busch
Hendricks: Gordon and Johnson
Gnassi: JPM and Sorenson
Rousch: Edwards and Kenseth
DEI: Truex and Menard
Other: Kahne and Labonte
Leaving Penske out of the equation i would pick Rousch and Gibss to finish 1 and 2 for the year. If I had to put one team together to compete in an olympic style event all over the world and I could combine any two drivers, my pick would be Gordon and Stewart.
This is all in fun just to see how people feel about each team as well as the drivers. It would obviously never happen but it still doesn't mean it s not fun to argue. Lets here what you got to say. Holla.

Trent - In the NASCAR challenge and in the Olympic event I would have to pick Stewart and Kyle Busch. Last year I wouldn't have included Kyle, I would have chosen the same as you. But I think Kyle is the best now. He's not my favorite personality but that kid can drive.

First off i would take Mark Martin instead of Paul Menard out of DEI.
I think it comes down to Gibbs, Hendrick, Roush if its up to only those 2 drivers in the team.
Gibbs and Hendrick go down to the wire but Johnson and Gordon go on a streak at the end of the season and blow Busch and Stewart out of the water.

Stuckey - Hendrick guys better get started if they are going to blow the Gibbs guys out of the water. Remember, Tony doesn't get hot until the weather gets hot.

I wouldn't count Newman/Busch out.... coarse I'm bias too! :)
Roush would be hard for me to decide, I don't think you can count Biffle out! So It would be either, Biffle, Edwards or Kenseth.
RCR: Harvick/Bowyer
Gibbs: Busch/Stewart.... although Hamlin is pretty tough himself!
Hendrick: Johnson/Gordan
DEI: Truex for sure and then ?
Other:Kahne, Blaney, Labonte, Riggs and Vickers....
Coarse I'd always put Newman in anything, so other than him, smile.... it would be Kyle Busch and Greg Biffle, if they didn't wreck, they'd be hauling!

Who is Rousch, Gibss, and Gnassi?
Are they new to the sport or something? Never heard of them.
I have heard of GIBBS, ROUSH, and GANASSI however.
Geez!

For the "olympic" event I would take any combination of the following:
Newman
ROBBY Gordon
Stewart
Kyle Busch
Jeff Gordon
And I would want Roy McCaully or Cheat Knauss on the box.

How about a Cup/Nationwide/CTS Team event where you have one Cup Driver paired with one Nationwide Driver and one Truck Driver.

Hey Trent,
Great way to troll for hits during the off week.
You mentioned olympics without what would they be driving. So, I will go with an IROC type assumtion.
Both the Blue cars of course.
Happy & Bowyer
Smoke & Lil'Bastard (that'sacompliment)
Biffle & Kensenth
Reed & Sorenson
Gordon & Jr.
with my wild cars being,
Robby & Kasey
that is a fun topic.

I think Hendricks would probably win, but I would sure hope Biffle would win it for Roush. Although it kinda depends what they're racing and where.
