No love for the Busch boys
I found the end of the race hard to watch for our team. We had a certain strategy we were going for and it didn't end up the way we were hoping for. The good news is that our teammate won the race with better strategy and luck than we had. When the rain finally came and the race was called the crowd went crazy but in a different way. It is very obvious that the Busch boys are the most hated drivers in the garage, by far. At least in the past few years you had a hand full of drivers that got booed. Now that Jr. and Gordon are teammates i think all the attention has turned on the Busch family. I think there easy to hate and they haven't done much to help the situation. Matter of fact i think they like the fact that they are the bad boys and everyone likes to see them do bad. The problem with all that is both Kyle and Kurt can drive. You give em the equipment and they can win races. It will be interesting to see what happens if Kyle takes down the golden boys of Hendricks. Either way its pretty funny listening to the pre race intros and all the boes these two guys get. What ever makes the fans happy i guess.

Money is getting tight
Since i don't want to talk about this weekend and how our team performed I'm gonna talk about the future of the sport. TV rating are up but the attendance is down. If your on a tight budget and you can afford to eat or go to a race, most people are gonna eat. Ive noticed a lot more this year than any other year that there are tons of empty seats at most of the races. The only race that i can remember being sold out was Bristol. Its getting a little scary wondering about the sponsors and the money being brought in to help grow our sport. Its gonna be real interesting to see how Nascar handles the situation if some sponsors start to drop and they wont let others into the sport. There are only so many companies that can afford 15 million dollars a year to put on a car. If Nascar has the choice to let other sponsors in they better. Without sponsors there wont be cars and without cars there wont be a sport. Its a fine line they have to walk in order to keep all the different sponsors they have from interfering with each other. I'm sure Nascar has a plan for every situation but its still something worth mentioning since me as well as others make there living in the sport. I guess thats it for now.

Racing and cheating
As i was watching the NBA game last night i started thinking about the allegations that Tim Donahgy was bringing up. For you that don't know what the heck I'm talking about, I ll explain. Tim Donahgy was a referee in the NBA for years and has admitted to gambling and fixing NBA games. Now he s telling the press that there are other referees that were involved in helping fix some playoff games. I guess my question is do you think there has ever been a race that has been fixed by a couple of drivers for the sake of the sport. Now here me out, I'm not saying there s never been cheating or other miss conduct in racing. That is what the sport was built on in the early days, what I'm saying is do you think there has ever been a situation where a group of drivers or owners have or even officials have made a decision on a race or caution or anything else to help a certain individual or team during a race. Now before everyone gets on here about when cautions are thrown and who gets the lucky dog and so forth, make sure you can back up what your saying. I ll be the first to admit that I thought it was kind of weird seeing JR. win at Daytona the very next race after his dad was killed there. Do i think it was fixed, no, but do i think it was a very weird situation, yes. Its all in how you look at things but i think it would be a lot harder to fix a race since you cant control the parts failures as to trying to fix an NBA game. Just thought i would bring it up since it was on the mind.
