Going to the beach
This week is the only off weekend we have for a while now so i thought i would take the wife down to the beach for some fun in the sun. After hearing the news Tuesday that we all knew was coming, its good timing to get away and enjoy something outside of racing. Ryan told the team Tuesday that he wasn't coming back and it was kind of a sad day. I really hate he s not going to be at Penske next year driving the 12 car. Being a good friend of mine it was always fun going to the track knowing you had a chance to win every weekend. Who ever they put in the 12 i hope can at least give us a hope of winning. Oh well, i guess we ll all see what happens. Tomorrow I'm going on a deep sea adventure with the wife and some friends of ours and hopefully ill have some pictures to post so you can see all or none of the fish we catch. I'm leaving in about 10 minutes so everyone have a good week off and ill see ya next week.

Trent - My hope is that David Stremme will be in the 12 car next year. He's well spoken, nice looking, young and has a great, easy going personality. Any sponsor should be glad to be on Stremme's car. He just needs the opportunity to show his driving talent.

Have fun on your vacation because the next few months of racing will be very trying.
I am so sorry that the 12 team will be loosing a great driver. The news was very shocking. Even with all the speculation, I never thought it would actually happen. He has been so loyal for so long. I guess all the BS took a toll.
With names like McDowell, Reutimann,
Sorenson,Mears and Stremme being tossed around as possible replacement drivers the future of the 12 team looks promising.
Hope they can stay in the top 35,the chase may be a stretch.
I will keep an eye on this team in 09 but my loyalty will always go to the driver.
Hope all goes well.

Hey Trent,
We share your pain.
Not sure what to wish for. Question the Captain's health, and future for the teams. Know that his son is learning with his own Indy car team, but not sure about the future of stock car racing.
Sometimes it takes a clean sheet of paper, for the driver and/or team.
Stremme is certainly positioned for a chance at the Cup ride. Mears has a strong family history. Have felt that Sorenson was never supported in winning fashion. Penske has always had a way of finding what he wants. Pulled Kurt out of the Miller Blue sky.
Just want the best, some wins and a championship.. that's all.
Can't think of a better parting gift than a win at the Brickyard!

I've kept up with Mr. Terry since he left Penske, so I'll be keeping up with you guys!I knew that Ryan probably wouldn't come back but it was still somewhat of a shock and I was kinda sad, at the same time, I'm excited about his future! I just want him to get back to where I KNOW he should be! It will be sad not having that Alltel 12 gear on.
I felt for you guys that have been with Newman from the start! I know that was not an easy thing to hear or for him to say, I do hope yall kick butt the rest of the year!
I kinda want Stremme to have a shot, but will Penkse go with a younger driver? Seems everyone is going to little "young" things?

Your a good man Trent. I have always liked your humor and your ability to take so much crap from the adoring public. That tells us all a lot about your character.
I know it's sad saying "good bye" to Ryan. All the blood, sweat and tears you all have shared together. Parting is sorrow.
Life will go on with your next driver and I know you will give it your best shot because that's you!
Later!
