Victory junction gang camp
Today I'm really feeling my age. Its the day after a 4 hour trip up to the Victory Junction Gang Camp and I'm so sore its not funny. This is the second time the 12 car has gone up there and it gets better every time. The kids are so energetic and the counselors are non stop. We got a tour of the facility and interacted with the kids for a couple of hours and even got to do some kick ball and go in a dunking booth. If you have never checked this place out you should. The New facilities that were there since two years ago are the bowling alley and the kick ball arena. Both are as cool as they sound. We had a three inning kickball game against the older kids that ended in a 5 to 5 tie. We all wanted over time but had to report to the mess hall for dinner. After that we had the camp dance party which lasted about 30 minutes and then we headed out to the yard for some pit stops. After the stops it was off to the dunking booth and just hanging out with the kids. Its one of those experiences that you don't ever forget and it was so cool to be part of that. If i can learn how to post some pictures ill post them on here. thats all for now.

That so cool that yall go to the VJGC and play with the kids! And the Nascar fans are the best at giving! And may I just tell you, the pain gets worse with age! smile! Coarse your not old, but when you get that way, you still think you can do things you did years ago and when you try, it nearly kills ya! Your body hurts in places you didn't know could hurt! So enjoy while ya can! :)
Good luck this weekend! Hope yall have a great race day! Great weekend!

Great that you all took some time out for the kids. Especially understand you being ragged out after this weekend at INDY with the marathon Pit Stop rigors.
NASCAR folks are the most giving of their time and energy to those who need a little joy in their life.

It's super what you guys do for the VJGC.
The drivers, teams and everyone associated
with NASCAR do a fantastic job in supporting
the VJGC and other charities. I'm sure all
of the kids enjoyed your visit with them and
that has to make you feel good even though
you were tired.
It would be great if you can post some
pictures, love to see them.

The investment of time that you and all the others that went, I am sure paid out, and will continue to pay out dividends for a long time to come. That was a great thing that all of you did. I can only imagine the many smiles and good feelings you brought to all of the campers at VJGC. I thank you for that investment of time. VJGC is a favorite charitable organization of mine. Be safe and keep the faith...... and would love to see the pics is available...

Trent, you all are just wonderful. Thanks for being there for those kids -- kinda puts things in perspective and makes silly season seem, well, silly. Kudos to you and the 12 team.
Can't we just bundle you guys up and sneak you into the moving boxes when Newman moves out? :)
Take care.

Trent
I agree, it sure would be nice if you guys
could just pack up and go with Ryan.
Good luck this week-end.

Trent, I am a volunteer at VJGC and loved the week when the "pit crews" join in...even in the dancing and pizza! I'm not sure who smiles more, the kids or the crew!

It seems unlikely to me that Roy and his pit crew would be welcome to follow ryan.

i agree with col. mustard. why would he take a crew with him that he say's him self "cant get the job done" that would defeite the purpose of leaving.

I don't see the team as the problem, more the leadership/owner not giving the resources needed to keep up with the COT as much as other owners have. When NASCAR is all you are focused on, obviously it will improve.
That also gives me reason to have concern for the Stewart-Haas success chances.

W. Stump-
Would you mind listing the resources that the leadership/owner has not given to the NASCAR part of Penske Racing? It would be great if you could be really specific (ie. part#'s, $ figures, etc...)

Freak,
I do believe you are taking out of context and juxtapositioning what Ryan has said about performance. I do believe the boy is frustrated with the engines – power to be exact - and last I looked the crew did not build the engines.

Freak, are you serious. When looking at potential problems i would say the crew ranks near the bottom. Then again your crew cant seem to hold postitions on Sunday so i understand the frustration.

I think the obvious is being overlooked. The 12 team must rely heavily on gaining positions in the pit. IMO the orders given are being executed well...but not all the orders are on target (imo).

Freak is definately wrong this time. the pit crew has really blossomed this year under the direction of Mcawley.

i know you all are huge ryan fan's and that's cool, but the twelve pit crew loses spots every race, and even though your comment trent about us loosing spot's is obviously false i could see why you would be jelouse. dont take thing;s so personal, if you aint good enough to get it done than you aint good enough. ryan would love to have a pit crew that averages in the twelves every week, who wouldnt. our driver does and he loves it.
you all should be able to pick up SOME spots runnin mid pack every week, its harder when your in the top five every week.
