No race talk, its fantansy football time
Im gonna take the week to talk about the up coming fantansy football draft that we have here at the shop. Being as that there isnt much racing to be talked about from my end i figured i would take this time to get some insight on the upcoming fantasy football season. Last year our car cheif, Bryan Dilly, won our league and this year i got to put an end to it. Our draft is scheduled for this Monday in the breakroom. We have 12 teams in our league and i had the 5th pick but traded it for the 12 and 13th picks. I might have already screwed that up. Anyways, i figure most people that watch sports or even racing are in some kind of fantansy league. I need some help with the draft and some sleeper picks. Im open for any suggestions so let me here em. If you not a fantasy player than just disregard this blog because its not gonna make much sense to you. Holla.

Average life span on pit road
This weekend at the Glen a fan brought up an interesting comment to me. They asked me how old i was and how long i had been carrying tires. After that they started asking questions about the average age of most people on pit road and also the age by position. I didn't give it a lot of thought until i got home and started talking to the wife. I guess everyone on pit road would probably answer the same way i did to the man that asked me the question by saying "I want to carry as long as i am competitive". Its a generic answer but a true one. So it begs the question of this: How old is the average pit crew member and what position has the longest and the shortest span on pit road. I have my thoughts and opinions but i want to here yours. DT should have an interesting opinion on this one considering we talk about it each year and we always ask each other how much longer we have. Im 29 and he's mid 30's. Its kind of a guessing game for the fans but give me your opinion on what you think is young, old, to young, to old, and what positions have the longest and shortest shelf lives on pit road. Im just curious to see what the public thinks. Holla

Stewart Hass and their future
Depending on who is going to be Tony's teammate (Ryan Newman), I figure SH to be a pretty good team next year. I think they have some up hill battles to fight but i think with two good drivers they can make it. My question is this: How far down is the Hendrick Stewart connection going to run. Everyone knows that the Hass Hendrick connection is there just like the hall of fame Gibbs connection. Come Race day though, how much do you think Hendrick is really going to help SH. For instance, do you really think SH is going to get the car, motors, etc. that are better than the ones that the 24, 48, and 88 get. Meaning, if Hendrick builds 3 great motors and 3 decent motors, who do think is getting the good ones and who do you think will take the others. Hendrick wont put his own teams in jeopardy to help out a competitor. Its just my opinion but I think SH better keep a good eye on what kind of help they are getting and how deep the relationship goes. Now, I don't know all the details of what info is shared between the two companies but i do know that Rick Hendrick and Jack Rousch and Joe Gibbs are no idiots. All the teams that are so called affiliated with them don't run near as good as there own. You figure it out. Just a thought.
