Fantasy Racing Preview
DudeBy Mark Young
Well we finally know who is in and who is watching the race Sunday like most of us, in front of the TV and with that in mind it is now time to pickour fantasy racing teams. Each week I am going to share with you who I think you should look out for and who you should stay away from when making your picks. Now we all know that opinions are like...well you know what they are like because everyone has one. I also know that I get called one a lot on here so feel free to disaggree with me and also feel free to ask any questions or share your thoughts.
Now there are dozens of different games out there with just as many different rules about who you can and cannot pick. With that in mind I am going to be pretty generic each week and tell you who runs well at the given track and who doesn't. So without further adieu let's start this party. Daytone however is nothing but a big crapshoot so I am going to base it on past history and how they have been doing during Speedweeks.
WHO TO LOOK FOR: #20-Tony Stewart. Hottest car in Daytona right now. #2 Kurt Busch. Has been up front all speedweeks just hasn't won. #8 Dale Earnhardt Jr. Earnhardt/Daytona, need I say more? Needs drafting help though. ANY Hendrick Car (see my disclaimer below). They just seem to have everything clicking, even with broken shock mounts. #17 Matt Kenseth. Even without Robbie Riser he is strong.
SLEEPER PICKS: #40 David Stremme Has had a very strong but quiet Speedweeks. #60 Boris Said Won the pole here in July last year, was very racy in the 150. #01 Mark Martin Could get his first Daytona win in a car not owned by Jack Rousch. #96 Tony Raines Quietly putting together a very good team and ran strong in the 150.
WHO YOU SHOULDN'T PICK: #42 Juan Pablo Montoya He is a great driver but he isn't Super Man. He might get drafting help, might not. #38 David Gilliland Cinderella story has a whole lot of unknowns but I would love to see him win. #48 Jimmie Johnson Was slow in the 150 and not much better in the Shootout.
Well that is what I think, what say you?

Dang I broke my pencil,so I will try to cut and paste the names to my fantasy league.
OK I agree, to a point but you have to in your top-ten at least pick 2 time former winner Michael Waltrip. He did survive thru the biggest scandal ever in Nascar, but his team got all 3 cars in the race and he has a good starting spot.
Also in that top 10 would be David Gilliland, never in a million years would I have picked him, but what he has done so far is unique.
Great Post my Freind

How much help will the #38 get in drafting? I don't think much..... I just couldn't be sure what to think about Mike. Heck I doubted he would make the race after the challenges he had and he proved most of us wrong.
